¹ Josias était âgé de huit ans lorsqu'il commença de régner ; * et il régna trente et un ans à Jérusalem.
² Et il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, et marcha dans les voies de David, son père, et ne s'en écarta ni à droite ni à gauche.
³ Et la huitième année de son règne, lorsqu'il était encore un jeune garçon, il commença de rechercher le Dieu de David, son père ; et la douzième année, il commença de purifier Juda et Jérusalem des hauts lieux, et des ashères, et des images taillées, et des images de fonte.
⁴ Et on démolit devant lui les autels des Baals, et il abattit les colonnes consacrées au soleil, qui étaient en haut au-dessus d'eux ; et il brisa les ashères, et les images taillées et les images de fonte, et les broya, et en répandit la poussière* sur les sépulcres de ceux qui leur avaient sacrifié ;
⁵ et il brûla les os des sacrificateurs sur leurs autels. Et il purifia Juda et Jérusalem.
⁶ Et dans les villes de Manassé, et d'Éphraïm, et de Siméon, et jusqu'à Nephthali, dans leurs ruines, tout à l'entour,
⁷ il démolit les autels, et mit en pièces, jusqu'à les réduire en poussière, les ashères et les images taillées, et abattit toutes les colonnes consacrées au soleil, dans tout le pays d'Israël ; et il s'en retourna à Jérusalem.
⁸ Et la dix-huitième année de son règne,* lors de la purification du pays et de la maison, il envoya Shaphan, fils d'Atsalia, et Maascéïa, le chef de la ville, et Joakh, fils de Joakhaz, le rédacteur des chroniques, pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel, son Dieu.
⁹ Et ils vinrent chez Hilkija, le grand sacrificateur ; et on [leur] remit l'argent qui avait été apporté dans la maison de Dieu [et] que les lévites, gardiens du seuil, avaient recueilli de la main de Manassé et d'Éphraïm, et de tout le reste d'Israël, et de tout Juda et Benjamin, et des habitants de Jérusalem*.
¹⁰ Et ils le remirent en la main de ceux qui faisaient l'ouvrage, qui étaient préposés [sur le travail] dans la maison de l'Éternel ; et ceux-ci le remirent aux ouvriers qui travaillaient dans la maison de l'Éternel, pour refaire et réparer la maison :
¹¹ ils le remirent aux charpentiers et aux constructeurs pour acheter des pierres de taille, et des bois pour les assemblages, et pour faire la charpenterie des maisons que les rois de Juda avaient détruites.
¹² Et ces hommes faisaient le travail avec fidélité. Et sur eux étaient préposés Jakhath et Abdias, lévites d'entre les fils de Merari, et Zacharie et Meshullam d'entre les fils des Kehathites, pour la surveillance ; et tous ces lévites étaient habiles à [jouer] des instruments de musique.
¹³ Et [ils étaient préposés] sur les portefaix, et ils surveillaient tous ceux qui étaient occupés à toute sorte de service. Et les scribes, et les intendants, et les portiers étaient d'entre les lévites.
¹⁴ Et comme on sortait l'argent qui avait été apporté dans la maison de l'Éternel, Hilkija, le sacrificateur, trouva le livre de la loi de l'Éternel [donnée] par Moïse.
¹⁵ Et Hilkija prit la parole et dit à Shaphan, le scribe : J'ai trouvé le livre de la loi dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et Hilkija donna le livre à Shaphan.
¹⁶ Et Shaphan apporta le livre au roi ; et de plus il rendit compte au roi, disant : Tout ce qui a été remis en la main de tes serviteurs, ils l'exécutent ;
¹⁷ et ils ont versé l'argent qui s'est trouvé dans la maison de l'Éternel, et l'ont remis entre les mains des préposés et entre les mains de ceux qui font l'ouvrage.
¹⁸ Et Shaphan, le scribe, raconta au roi, disant : Hilkija, le sacrificateur, m'a donné un livre. Et Shaphan y lut devant le roi.
¹⁹ Et il arriva que, quand le roi entendit les paroles de la loi, il déchira ses vêtements.
²⁰ Et le roi commanda à Hilkija, et à Akhikam, fils de Shaphan, et à Abdon, fils de Michée, et à Shaphan, le scribe, et à Asçaïa, serviteur du roi, disant :
²¹ Allez, consultez l'Éternel pour moi et pour ce qui est de reste en Israël et en Juda, touchant les paroles du livre qui a été trouvé ; car grande est la fureur de l'Éternel, qui s'est déversée sur nous, parce que nos pères n'ont pas gardé la parole de l'Éternel, pour faire selon tout ce qui est écrit dans ce livre.
²² Et Hilkija et les gens du roi allèrent vers Hulda, la prophétesse, femme de Shallum, fils de Thokehath, fils de Hasra, qui avait la garde des vêtements ; et elle habitait à Jérusalem dans le second quartier de la ville ; et ils lui parlèrent selon ces choses.
²³ Et elle leur dit : Ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël : Dites à l'homme qui vous a envoyés vers moi :
²⁴ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Voici, je fais venir du mal sur ce lieu et sur ses habitants, toutes les malédictions* qui sont écrites dans le livre qu'on a lu devant le roi de Juda.
²⁵ Parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné et qu'ils ont brûlé de l'encens à d'autres dieux, pour me provoquer à colère par toutes les œuvres de leurs mains, ma fureur se déversera sur ce lieu, et elle ne s'éteindra point.
²⁶ Et au roi de Juda qui vous a envoyés pour consulter l'Éternel, vous direz ainsi : Ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, quant aux paroles que tu as entendues :
²⁷ Parce que ton cœur a été sensible, et que tu t'es humilié devant Dieu quand tu as entendu ses paroles contre ce lieu et contre ses habitants, et parce que tu t'es humilié devant moi, et que tu as déchiré tes vêtements, et que tu as pleuré devant moi, moi aussi j'ai entendu, dit* l'Éternel.
²⁸ Voici, je vais te recueillir auprès de tes pères, et tu seras recueilli en paix dans tes sépulcres, et tes yeux ne verront pas tout le mal que je fais venir sur ce lieu, et sur ses habitants. Et ils rapportèrent au roi [cette] parole.
²⁹ Et le roi envoya, et assembla tous les anciens de Juda et de Jérusalem.
³⁰ Et le roi monta à la maison de l'Éternel, et tous les hommes de Juda, et les habitants de Jérusalem, et les sacrificateurs, et les lévites, et tout le peuple, depuis le grand jusqu'au petit ; et on lut, eux l'entendant*, toutes les paroles du livre de l'alliance qui avait été trouvé dans la maison de l'Éternel.
³¹ Et le roi se tint debout à sa place, et fit cette alliance devant l'Éternel, de marcher après l'Éternel et de garder ses commandements et ses témoignages et ses statuts, de tout son cœur et de toute son âme, pour pratiquer les paroles de l'alliance, écrites dans ce livre.
³² Et il fit entrer [dans l'alliance] tous ceux qui se trouvaient à Jérusalem et en Benjamin ; et les habitants de Jérusalem firent selon l'alliance de Dieu, du Dieu de leurs pères.
³³ Et Josias ôta toutes les abominations de* tous les pays qui appartenaient aux fils d'Israël, et obligea** tous ceux qui se trouvaient en Israël à servir l'Éternel, leur Dieu. Pendant tous ses jours, ils ne se détournèrent pas de*** l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères.

¹ Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.
² And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.
³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
⁴ And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.
⁵ And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.
⁶ And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.
⁷ And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.
⁸ Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God.
⁹ And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem.
¹⁰ And they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the LORD, and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the LORD, to repair and amend the house:
¹¹ Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
¹² And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick.
¹³ Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.
¹⁴ And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the LORD given by Moses.
¹⁵ And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.
¹⁶ And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it.
¹⁷ And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen.
¹⁸ Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
¹⁹ And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.
²⁰ And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying,
²¹ Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.
²² And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect.
²³ And she answered them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me,
²⁴ Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:
²⁵ Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched.
²⁶ And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard;
²⁷ Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.
²⁸ Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.
²⁹ Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
³⁰ And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.
³¹ And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book.
³² And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
³³ And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the LORD their God. And all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.

¹ Octo annorum erat Josias cum regnare cœpisset, et triginta et uno anno regnavit in Jerusalem.
² Fecitque quod erat rectum in conspectu Domini, et ambulavit in viis David patris sui : non declinavit neque ad dextram, neque ad sinistram.
³ Octavo autem anno regni sui, cum adhuc esset puer, cœpit quærere Deum patris sui David : et duodecimo anno postquam regnare cœperat, mundavit Judam et Jerusalem ab excelsis, et lucis, simulacrisque et sculptilibus.
⁴ Destruxeruntque coram eo aras Baalim, et simulacra quæ superposita fuerant, demoliti sunt : lucos etiam et sculptilia succidit atque comminuit, et super tumulos eorum qui eis immolare consueverant, fragmenta dispersit.
⁵ Ossa præterea sacerdotum combussit in altaribus idolorum, mundavitque Judam et Jerusalem.
⁶ Sed et in urbibus Manasse, et Ephraim, et Simeon, usque Nephthali, cuncta subvertit.
⁷ Cumque altaria dissipasset, et lucos et sculptilia contrivisset in frusta, cunctaque delubra demolitus esset de universa terra Israël, reversus est in Jerusalem.

⁹ Qui venerunt ad Helciam sacerdotem magnum : acceptamque ab eo pecuniam quæ illata fuerat in domum Domini, et quam congregaverant Levitæ, et janitores de Manasse, et Ephraim, et universis reliquiis Israël, ab omni quoque Juda, et Benjamin, et habitatoribus Jerusalem,
¹⁰ tradiderunt in manibus eorum qui præerant operariis in domo Domini, ut instaurarent templum, et infirma quæque sarcirent.

²⁵ Quia dereliquerunt me, et sacrificaverunt diis alienis, ut me ad iracundiam provocarent in cunctis operibus manuum suarum, idcirco stillabit furor meus super locum istum, et non extinguetur.
²⁶ Ad regem autem Juda, qui misit vos pro Domino deprecando, sic loquimini : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Quoniam audisti verba voluminis,
²⁷ atque emollitum est cor tuum, et humiliatus es in conspectu Dei super his quæ dicta sunt contra locum hunc et habitatores Jerusalem, reveritusque faciem meam scidisti vestimenta tua, et flevisti coram me : ego quoque exaudivi te, dicit Dominus.
²⁸ Jam enim colligam te ad patres tuos, et infereris in sepulchrum tuum in pace : nec videbunt oculi tui omne malum quod ego inducturus sum super locum istum, et super habitatores ejus. Retulerunt itaque regi cuncta quæ dixerat.
²⁹ At ille convocatis universis majoribus natu Juda et Jerusalem,
³⁰ ascendit in domum Domini, unaque omnes viri Juda et habitatores Jerusalem, sacerdotes et Levitæ, et cunctus populus a minimo usque ad maximum. Quibus audientibus in domo Domini, legit rex omnia verba voluminis :
³¹ et stans in tribunali suo, percussit fœdus coram Domino ut ambularet post eum, et custodiret præcepta, et testimonia, et justificationes ejus in toto corde suo, et in tota anima sua, faceretque quæ scripta sunt in volumine illo, quod legerat.
³² Adjuravit quoque super hoc omnes qui reperti fuerant in Jerusalem et Benjamin : et fecerunt habitatores Jerusalem juxta pactum Domini Dei patrum suorum.
³³ Abstulit ergo Josias cunctas abominationes de universis regionibus filiorum Israël : et fecit omnes qui residui erant in Israël, servire Domino Deo suo. Cunctis diebus ejus non recesserunt a Domino Deo patrum suorum.

¹¹ וַֽיִּתְּנ֗וּ לֶחָֽרָשִׁים֙ וְלַבֹּנִ֔ים לִקְנוֹת֙ אַבְנֵ֣י מַחְצֵ֔ב וְעֵצִ֖ים לַֽמְחַבְּר֑וֹת וּלְקָרוֹת֙ אֶת־ הַבָּ֣תִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁחִ֖יתוּ מַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃
¹² וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֩ עֹשִׂ֨ים בֶּאֱמוּנָ֜ה בַּמְּלָאכָ֗ה וַעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם ׀ מֻ֠פְקָדִים יַ֣חַת וְעֹבַדְיָ֤הוּ הַלְוִיִּם֙ מִן־ בְּנֵ֣י מְרָרִ֔י וּזְכַרְיָ֧ה וּמְשֻׁלָּ֛ם מִן־ בְּנֵ֥י הַקְּהָתִ֖ים לְנַצֵּ֑חַ וְהַ֨לְוִיִּ֔ם כָּל־ מֵבִ֖ין בִּכְלֵי־ שִֽׁיר׃
¹³ וְעַ֣ל הַסַּבָּלִ֗ים וּֽמְנַצְּחִים֙ לְכֹל֙ עֹשֵׂ֣ה מְלָאכָ֔ה לַעֲבוֹדָ֖ה וַעֲבוֹדָ֑ה וּמֵֽהַלְוִיִּ֔ם סוֹפְרִ֥ים וְשֹׁטְרִ֖ים וְשׁוֹעֲרִֽים׃
¹⁴ וּבְהוֹצִיאָ֣ם אֶת־ הַכֶּ֔סֶף הַמּוּבָ֖א בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה מָצָא֙ חִלְקִיָּ֣הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֶת־ סֵ֥פֶר תּֽוֹרַת־ יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃
¹⁵ וַיַּ֣עַן חִלְקִיָּ֗הוּ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ שָׁפָ֣ן הַסּוֹפֵ֔ר סֵ֧פֶר הַתּוֹרָ֛ה מָצָ֖אתִי בְּבֵ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה וַיִּתֵּ֧ן חִלְקִיָּ֛הוּ אֶת־ הַסֵּ֖פֶר אֶל־ שָׁפָֽן׃
¹⁶ וַיָּבֵ֨א שָׁפָ֤ן אֶת־ הַסֵּ֙פֶר֙ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיָּ֨שֶׁב ע֧וֹד אֶת־ הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ דָּבָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־ נִתַּ֥ן בְּיַד־ עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ הֵ֥ם עֹשִֽׂים׃
¹⁷ וַיַּתִּ֕יכוּ אֶת־ הַכֶּ֖סֶף הַנִּמְצָ֣א בְּבֵית־ יְהוָ֑ה וַֽיִּתְּנ֗וּהוּ עַל־ יַד֙ הַמֻּפְקָדִ֔ים וְעַל־ יַ֖ד עוֹשֵׂ֥י הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃
¹⁸ וַיַּגֵּ֞ד שָׁפָ֤ן הַסּוֹפֵר֙ לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ לֵאמֹ֔ר סֵ֚פֶר נָ֣תַן לִ֔י חִלְקִיָּ֖הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֑ן וַיִּקְרָא־ ב֥וֹ שָׁפָ֖ן לִפְנֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
¹⁹ וַיְהִי֙ כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֵ֖ת דִּבְרֵ֣י הַתּוֹרָ֑ה וַיִּקְרַ֖ע אֶת־ בְּגָדָֽיו׃
²⁰ וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ אֶת־ חִלְקִיָּ֡הוּ וְאֶת־ אֲחִיקָ֣ם בֶּן־ שָׁ֠פָן וְאֶת־ עַבְדּ֨וֹן בֶּן־ מִיכָ֜ה וְאֵ֣ת ׀ שָׁפָ֣ן הַסּוֹפֵ֗ר וְאֵ֛ת עֲשָׂיָ֥ה עֶֽבֶד־ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ לֵאמֹֽר׃
²¹ לְכוּ֩ דִרְשׁ֨וּ אֶת־ יְהוָ֜ה בַּעֲדִ֗י וּבְעַד֙ הַנִּשְׁאָר֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל וּבִֽיהוּדָ֔ה עַל־ דִּבְרֵ֥י הַסֵּ֖פֶר אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצָ֑א כִּֽי־ גְדוֹלָ֤ה חֲמַת־ יְהוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִתְּכָ֣ה בָ֔נוּ עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־ שָׁמְר֤וּ אֲבוֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ אֶת־ דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה לַעֲשׂ֕וֹת כְּכָל־ הַכָּת֖וּב עַל־ הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַזֶּֽה׃
²² וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ חִלְקִיָּ֜הוּ וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אֶל־ חֻלְדָּ֨ה הַנְּבִיאָ֜ה אֵ֣שֶׁת ׀ שַׁלֻּ֣ם בֶּן־ בֶּן־ חַסְרָה֙ שׁוֹמֵ֣ר הַבְּגָדִ֔ים וְהִ֛יא יוֹשֶׁ֥בֶת בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם בַּמִּשְׁנֶ֑ה וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ אֵלֶ֖יהָ כָּזֹֽאת׃
²³ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם כֹּה־ אָמַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִמְר֣וּ לָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־ שָׁלַ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃
²⁴ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֥יא רָעָ֛ה עַל־ הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְעַל־ יוֹשְׁבָ֑יו אֵ֤ת כָּל־ הָאָלוֹת֙ הַכְּתוּב֣וֹת עַל־ הַסֵּ֔פֶר אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָֽרְא֔וּ לִפְנֵ֖י מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃
²⁵ תַּ֣חַת ׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲזָב֗וּנִי לֵֽאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְמַ֙עַן֙ הַכְעִיסֵ֔נִי בְּכֹ֖ל מַעֲשֵׂ֣י יְדֵיהֶ֑ם וְתִתַּ֧ךְ חֲמָתִ֛י בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִכְבֶּֽה׃
²⁶ וְאֶל־ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה הַשֹּׁלֵ֤חַ אֶתְכֶם֙ לִדְר֣וֹשׁ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה כֹּ֥ה תֹאמְר֖וּ אֵלָ֑יו כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמָֽעְתָּ׃
²⁷ יַ֠עַן רַךְ־ לְבָ֨בְךָ֜ וַתִּכָּנַ֣ע ׀ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֗ים בְּשָׁמְעֲךָ֤ אֶת־ דְּבָרָיו֙ עַל־ הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ וְעַל־ יֹ֣שְׁבָ֔יו וַתִּכָּנַ֣ע לְפָנַ֔י וַתִּקְרַ֥ע אֶת־ בְּגָדֶ֖יךָ וַתֵּ֣בְךְּ לְפָנָ֑י וְגַם־ אֲנִ֥י שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃
²⁸ הִנְנִ֨י אֹֽסִפְךָ֜ אֶל־ אֲבֹתֶ֗יךָ וְנֶאֱסַפְתָּ֣ אֶל־ קִבְרֹתֶיךָ֮ בְּשָׁלוֹם֒ וְלֹא־ תִרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינֶ֔יךָ בְּכֹל֙ הָֽרָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲנִ֥י מֵבִ֛יא עַל־ הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְעַל־ יֹשְׁבָ֑יו וַיָּשִׁ֥יבוּ אֶת־ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דָּבָֽר׃
²⁹ וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֶּאֱסֹ֕ף אֶת־ כָּל־ זִקְנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
³⁰ וַיַּ֣עַל הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ בֵּית־ יְ֠הוָה וְכָל־ אִ֨ישׁ יְהוּדָ֜ה וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם וְהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְכָל־ הָעָ֖ם מִגָּד֣וֹל וְעַד־ קָטָ֑ן וַיִּקְרָ֣א בְאָזְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֶת־ כָּל־ דִּבְרֵי֙ סֵ֣פֶר הַבְּרִ֔ית הַנִּמְצָ֖א בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
³¹ וַיַּעֲמֹ֨ד הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ עַל־ עָמְד֗וֹ וַיִּכְרֹ֣ת אֶֽת־ הַבְּרִית֮ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָה֒ לָלֶ֜כֶת אַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה וְלִשְׁמ֤וֹר אֶת־ מִצְוֺתָיו֙ וְעֵֽדְוֺתָ֣יו וְחֻקָּ֔יו בְּכָל־ לְבָב֖וֹ וּבְכָל־ נַפְשׁ֑וֹ לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ אֶת־ דִּבְרֵ֣י הַבְּרִ֔ית הַכְּתוּבִ֖ים עַל־ הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַזֶּֽה׃
³² וַיַּעֲמֵ֕ד אֵ֛ת כָּל־ הַנִּמְצָ֥א בִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּ֙ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם כִּבְרִ֥ית אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
³³ וַיָּ֨סַר יֹֽאשִׁיָּ֜הוּ אֶת־ כָּל־ הַתּוֹעֵב֗וֹת מִֽכָּל־ הָאֲרָצוֹת֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וַֽיַּעֲבֵ֗ד אֵ֤ת כָּל־ הַנִּמְצָא֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לַעֲב֖וֹד אֶת־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם כָּל־ יָמָ֕יו לֹ֣א סָ֔רוּ מֵֽאַחֲרֵ֕י יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
