¹ Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof.
² Also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
³ And under it was the similitude of oxen, which did compass it round about: ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about. Two rows of oxen were cast, when it was cast.
⁴ It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
⁵ And the thickness of it was an handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and it received and held three thousand baths.
⁶ He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them: such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.
⁷ And he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.
⁸ He made also ten tables, and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made an hundred basons of gold.
⁹ Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass.
¹⁰ And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.
¹¹ And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God;
¹² To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars;
¹³ And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars.
¹⁴ He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases;
¹⁵ One sea, and twelve oxen under it.
¹⁶ The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the LORD of bright brass.
¹⁷ In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredathah.
¹⁸ Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.
¹⁹ And Solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon the shewbread was set;
²⁰ Moreover the candlesticks with their lamps, that they should burn after the manner before the oracle, of pure gold;
²¹ And the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, made he of gold, and that perfect gold;
²² And the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold: and the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.

Fabrication du mobilier du temple

¹ Il fit un autel en bronze long de 10 mètres, large de 10 et haut de 5.
² Il fit la cuve en métal fondu. Elle faisait 5 mètres d'un bord à l'autre et était entièrement ronde. Elle faisait 2 mètres et demi de haut et on pouvait mesurer sa circonférence avec un cordon de 15 mètres.
³ Des images de bœufs en faisaient le tour, sous le rebord, 20 par mètre, sur tout le pourtour de la cuve; disposés sur deux rangs, les bœufs avaient été fondus avec elle d'une seule pièce.
⁴ Elle était posée sur 12 bœufs, 3 tournés vers le nord, 3 vers l'ouest, 3 vers le sud et 3 vers l'est; la cuve reposait sur eux et toute la partie postérieure de leur corps était à l'intérieur.
⁵ Elle était épaisse de 8 centimètres et son bord, pareil à celui d'une coupe, avait la forme d'une fleur de lis. Elle pouvait contenir 66'000 litres.
⁶ Il fit 10 bassins et il en plaça 5 à droite et 5 à gauche, pour qu'ils servent aux purifications. On y lavait le matériel des holocaustes, tandis que la cuve était réservée aux ablutions des prêtres.
⁷ Il fabriqua 10 chandeliers en or d'après les règles établies et il les plaça dans le temple, 5 à droite et 5 à gauche.
⁸ Il fit 10 tables et il les plaça dans le temple, 5 à droite et 5 à gauche. Il fit 100 coupes en or.
⁹ Il fit le parvis des prêtres ainsi que le grand parvis avec ses portes, dont il couvrit de bronze les battants.
¹⁰ Il plaça la cuve du côté droit [du temple], au sud-est.
¹¹ Huram fabriqua encore les cendriers, les pelles et les coupes. C'est ainsi qu'Huram termina le travail que le roi Salomon lui avait fait faire pour la maison de Dieu:
¹² deux colonnes, avec les deux chapiteaux et leurs bourrelets sur le sommet des colonnes; les deux treillis, pour couvrir les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux sur le sommet des colonnes;
¹³ les 400 grenades pour les deux treillis, deux rangées de grenades par treillis, pour couvrir les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux sur le sommet des colonnes.
¹⁴ Il fit les bases avec les bassins qui vont dessus;
¹⁵ la cuve et les 12 bœufs qui vont sous elle;
¹⁶ les cendriers, les pelles et les fourchettes. Tous ces ustensiles que le roi Salomon fit faire à Huram-Abi pour la maison de l'Eternel étaient en bronze poli.
¹⁷ Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans un sol argileux, entre Succoth et Tseréda.
¹⁸ Salomon fit tous ces ustensiles en si grande quantité que l'on ne vérifia pas le poids du bronze utilisé.
¹⁹ Salomon fit encore tous les autres ustensiles pour la maison de Dieu: l'autel en or; les tables sur lesquelles on mettait les pains consacrés;
²⁰ les chandeliers et leurs lampes en or pur, qu'on devait allumer d'après la règle établie devant le sanctuaire,
²¹ avec les fleurs, les lampes et les mouchettes en or, en or très pur;
²² les couteaux, les coupes, les tasses et les brûle-parfums en or pur; les gonds en or pour la porte située à l'intérieur du temple, à l'entrée du lieu très saint, et pour la porte de la salle située à l'entrée du temple.
