¹ And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the LORD, and his own house,
² That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
³ And Solomon went to Hamathzobah, and prevailed against it.
⁴ And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.
⁵ Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
⁶ And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.
⁷ As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,
⁸ But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.
⁹ But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.
¹⁰ And these were the chief of king Solomon's officers, even two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people.
¹¹ And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.
¹² Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the LORD on the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch,
¹³ Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
¹⁴ And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.
¹⁵ And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
¹⁶ Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was perfected.
¹⁷ Then went Solomon to Eziongeber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.
¹⁸ And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

¹ Or il arriva au bout des vingt ans, pendant lesquels Salomon bâtit la maison de l'Eternel, et sa maison ;
² Qu'il bâtit aussi les villes que Hiram lui avait données, et il y fit habiter les enfants d'Israël.
³ Puis Salomon s'en alla à Hamath de Tsoba, et la conquit.
⁴ Salomon bâtit aussi Tadmor au désert, et toutes les villes de munitions qu'il bâtit à Hamath.
⁵ Et il bâtit aussi Beth-horon la haute, et Beth-horon la basse, villes fortes de murailles, de portes, et de barres.
⁶ Et Bahalath, et toutes les villes de munitions qu'eut Salomon, et toutes les villes où il tenait ses chariots, et les villes où il tenait ses gens de cheval, et tout ce que Salomon prit plaisir de bâtir à Jérusalem, et au Liban, et dans tout le pays de sa domination.
⁷ Et quant à tout le peuple qui était resté des Héthiens, des Amorrhéens, des Phérésiens, des Héviens et des Jébusiens, qui n'étaient point d'Israël ;
⁸ D'entre les gens qui étaient restés après eux au pays, [et] que les enfants d'Israël n'avaient pas entièrement détruits, Salomon les rendit tributaires jusqu'à aujourd'hui.
⁹ Mais Salomon ne souffrit point que les enfants d'Israël fussent asservis à faire son ouvrage, mais ils étaient gens de guerre, et principaux Chefs de ses capitaines, et Chefs de ses chariots, et ses hommes d'armes.
¹⁰ Il y en avait aussi deux cent cinquante, qui étaient les principaux Chefs de ceux qui étaient établis [sur les ouvrages] du Roi Salomon, lesquels avaient l'intendance sur le peuple.
¹¹ Or Salomon fit monter la fille de Pharaon de la Cité de David en la maison qu'il lui avait bâtie ; car il dit : Ma femme n'habitera point dans la maison de David Roi d'Israël, parce que les lieux auxquels l'Arche de l'Eternel est entrée sont saints.
¹² Et Salomon offrait des holocaustes à l'Eternel, sur l'autel de l'Eternel, qu'il avait bâti vis-à-vis du porche.
¹³ Et même selon qu'il échéait chaque jour, offrant selon le commandement de Moïse aux jours de Sabbat, et aux nouvelles lunes, et aux fêtes solennelles, trois fois l'année, [savoir] en la fête solennelle des pains sans levain, en la fête solennelle des semaines, et en la fête solennelle des Tabernacles.
¹⁴ Et il établit, suivant ce qu'avait ordonné David son père, les départements des Sacrificateurs selon leur ministère, et les Lévites selon leurs charges, afin qu'ils louassent [Dieu], et qu'ils fissent le service, aidant les Sacrificateurs selon l'ordinaire de chaque jour. [Il établit aussi] les portiers en leurs départements à chaque porte ; car tel avait été le commandement de David homme de Dieu.
¹⁵ Et on ne s'écarta point du commandement du Roi touchant les Sacrificateurs et les Lévites, en aucun article, ni en ce qui regardait les trésors.
¹⁶ Tout l'ouvrage donc de Salomon ayant été bien préparé, jusqu'au jour que la maison de l'Eternel fut fondée, et jusqu'à ce qu'elle fut achevée, la maison de l'Eternel fut ainsi finie.
¹⁷ Alors Salomon s'en alla à Hetsjon-guéber, et à Eloth, sur le rivage de la mer, qui est au pays d'Edom.
¹⁸ Et Hiram lui envoya, sous la conduite de ses serviteurs, des navires, et des serviteurs expérimentés dans la marine, qui s'en allèrent avec les serviteurs de Salomon à Ophir ; et ils prirent de là quatre cent cinquante talents d'or, et les apportèrent au Roi Salomon.

¹ Expletis autem viginti annis postquam ædificavit Salomon domum Domini et domum suam,
² civitates quas dederat Hiram Salomoni, ædificavit, et habitare ibi fecit filios Israël.
³ Abiit quoque in Emath Suba, et obtinuit eam.
⁴ Et ædificavit Palmyram in deserto, et alias civitates munitissimas ædificavit in Emath.
⁵ Exstruxitque Bethoron superiorem, et Bethoron inferiorem, civitates muratas habentes portas et vectes et seras :
⁶ Balaath etiam et omnes urbes firmissimas quæ fuerunt Salomonis, cunctasque urbes quadrigarum, et urbes equitum. Omnia quæcumque voluit Salomon atque disposuit, ædificavit in Jerusalem, et in Libano, et in universa terra potestatis suæ.
⁷ Omnem populum qui derelictus fuerat de Hethæis, et Amorrhæis, et Pherezæis, et Hevæis, et Jebusæis, qui non erant de stirpe Israël,
⁸ de filiis eorum, et de posteris, quos non interfecerant filii Israël, subjugavit Salomon in tributarios, usque in diem hanc.
⁹ Porro de filiis Israël non posuit ut servirent operibus regis : ipsi enim erant viri bellatores, et duces primi, et principes quadrigarum et equitum ejus.
¹⁰ Omnes autem principes exercitus regis Salomonis fuerunt ducenti quinquaginta, qui erudiebant populum.
¹¹ Filiam vero Pharaonis transtulit de civitate David in domum quam ædificaverat ei. Dixit enim rex : Non habitabit uxor mea in domo David regis Israël, eo quod sanctificata sit : quia ingressa est in eam arca Domini.
¹² Tunc obtulit Salomon holocausta Domino super altare Domini, quod exstruxerat ante porticum,
¹³ ut per singulos dies offerretur in eo juxta præceptum Moysi in sabbatis et in calendis, et in festis diebus, ter per annum, id est, in solemnitate azymorum, et in solemnitate hebdomadarum, et in solemnitate tabernaculorum.
¹⁴ Et constituit juxta dispositionem David patris sui officia sacerdotum in ministeriis suis, et Levitas in ordine suo, ut laudarent et ministrarent coram sacerdotibus juxta ritum uniuscujusque diei, et janitores in divisionibus suis per portam et portam : sic enim præceperat David homo Dei.
¹⁵ Nec prætergressi sunt de mandatis regis tam sacerdotes quam Levitæ, ex omnibus quæ præceperat, et in custodiis thesaurorum.
¹⁶ Omnes impensas præparatas habuit Salomon ex eo die quo fundavit domum Domini usque in diem quo perfecit eam.
¹⁷ Tunc abiit Salomon in Asiongaber, et in Ailath ad oram maris Rubri, quæ est in terra Edom.
¹⁸ Misit autem ei Hiram per manus servorum suorum naves, et nautas gnaros maris, et abierunt cum servis Salomonis in Ophir, tuleruntque inde quadringenta quinquaginta talenta auri, et attulerunt ad regem Salomonem.
