¹ Que le désert et la terre aride se réjouissent ! Que la steppe soit dans l'allégresse et fleurisse comme le narcisse ;
² qu'elle fleurisse et s'épanouisse ; qu'elle tressaille d'allégresse et pousse des cris de joie ! La gloire du Liban, la magnificence du Carmel et de Saron, lui est donnée, ils verront la gloire de l'Eternel, la magnificence du Carmel de notre Dieu.
³ Fortifiez les mains défaillantes, et affermissez les genoux chancelants !
⁴ Dites à ceux qui ont le coeur troublé : Prenez courage, ne craignez point ! Voici votre Dieu ; une vengeance viendra, une revanche divine ; Il viendra lui-même et vous sauvera.
⁵ Alors s'ouvriront les yeux des aveugles, et les oreilles des sourds s'ouvriront ;
⁶ alors le boiteux bondira comme un cerf, et la langue du muet éclatera de joie ; car des eaux jaillissent dans le désert et des ruisseaux dans la steppe ;
⁷ le mirage se change en un lac et la terre altérée en sources d'eaux ; le repaire où gîtaient les chacals devient un parc de roseaux et de joncs.
⁸ Et il y a là une route, une voie, qu'on appellera la voie sainte ; aucun impur n'y passera ; elle n'est que pour eux seuls ; quiconque suivra ce chemin, les simples mêmes, ne s'égareront pas.
⁹ Il n'y aura point là de lion ; aucune bête féroce n'y mettra le pied ni ne s'y montrera ; les rachetés y marcheront ;
¹⁰ et ceux dont l'Eternel aura payé la rançon reviendront et entreront en Sion avec des cris de joie ; une allégresse éternelle couronnera leur tête ; la joie et l'allégresse seront leur part ; la douleur et le gémissement s'enfuiront.

Es 35 (King James)

¹ The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.
³ Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
⁴ Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
⁶ Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
⁷ And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
⁸ And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
⁹ No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
¹⁰ And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
