Es 42:1-9 (King James)

¹ Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
² He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
³ A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
⁴ He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
⁵ Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
⁶ I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
⁷ To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
⁸ I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
⁹ Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Es 42:1-9 (Segond 21)

¹ *Voici mon serviteur, celui que je soutiendrai, celui que j'ai choisi et qui a toute mon approbation. J'ai mis mon Esprit sur lui; il révélera le droit aux nations.
² Il ne criera pas, il ne haussera pas le ton et ne fera pas entendre sa voix dans les rues.
³ Il ne cassera pas le roseau abîmé et n'éteindra pas la mèche qui fume encore, mais c'est en toute vérité qu'il révélera le droit.
⁴ Il ne faiblira pas et ne se relâchera pas jusqu'à ce qu'il ait instauré le droit sur la terre. Les îles placeront leur attente dans sa loi. 
⁵ Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le Dieu qui a créé le ciel et l'a déployé, qui a disposé la terre et tout ce qu'elle produit et qui donne la respiration à ceux qui la peuplent, le souffle à ceux qui y marchent:
⁶ Moi, l'Eternel, je t'ai appelé en toute justice et je te tiendrai fermement par la main. Je te garderai et je t'établirai pour que tu sois l'alliance du peuple, la lumière des nations,
⁷ pour que tu ouvres les yeux des aveugles, pour que tu fasses sortir le détenu de prison et de leur cachot les habitants des ténèbres.
⁸ Je suis l'Eternel, voilà quel est mon nom, et je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre ni la louange qui m'est due aux sculptures sacrées.
