¹ Et la première année de Cyrus,* roi de Perse, afin que fût accomplie la parole de l'Éternel [dite] par la bouche de Jérémie, l'Éternel réveilla l'esprit de Cyrus, roi de Perse ; et il fit une proclamation dans tout son royaume, et la publia aussi par écrit, disant :
² Ainsi dit Cyrus, roi de Perse : L'Éternel, le Dieu des cieux, m'a donné tous les royaumes de la terre, et il m'a chargé de lui bâtir une maison à Jérusalem, qui est en Juda.
³ Qui d'entre vous, quel qu'il soit, est de son peuple, - que son Dieu soit avec lui, et qu'il monte à Jérusalem, qui est en Juda, et qu'il bâtisse la maison de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël (lui est Dieu), à Jérusalem.
⁴ Et celui qui est de reste, dans tous les lieux où chacun séjourne, que les hommes du lieu lui viennent en aide, avec de l'argent, et avec de l'or, et avec des biens, et avec du bétail, outre les offrandes volontaires pour la maison de Dieu qui est à Jérusalem.
⁵ Alors se levèrent les chefs des pères de Juda et de Benjamin, et les sacrificateurs et les lévites, tous ceux dont Dieu avait réveillé l'esprit, afin de monter pour bâtir la maison de l'Éternel qui est à Jérusalem.
⁶ Et tous ceux qui les entouraient les aidèrent avec des objets d'argent, avec de l'or, avec des biens, et avec du bétail, et avec des choses précieuses, outre tout ce qu'on offrit volontairement.
⁷ Et le roi Cyrus fit sortir les ustensiles de la maison de l'Éternel, que Nebucadnetsar avait fait sortir de Jérusalem et qu'il avait mis dans la maison de son dieu.
⁸ Et Cyrus, roi de Perse, les fit sortir par Mithredath, le trésorier, qui les compta à Sheshbatsar*, prince de Juda.
⁹ Et en voici le nombre : trente bassins* d'or, mille bassins* d'argent, vingt-neuf couteaux,
¹⁰ trente coupes* d'or, quatre cent dix coupes* d'argent de second ordre, [et] mille autres ustensiles ;
¹¹ tous les ustensiles d'or et d'argent étaient [au nombre de] cinq mille quatre cents. Sheshbatsar apporta le tout lorsqu'on fit monter de Babylone à Jérusalem ceux de la transportation.

¹ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
² Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
³ Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
⁴ And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
⁵ Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.
⁶ And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.
⁷ Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
⁸ Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
⁹ And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
¹⁰ Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.
¹¹ All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

¹ In anno primo Cyri regis Persarum, ut compleretur verbum Domini ex ore Jeremiæ, suscitavit Dominus spiritum Cyri regis Persarum : et traduxit vocem in omni regno suo, etiam per scripturam, dicens :
² Hæc dicit Cyrus rex Persarum : Omnia regna terræ dedit mihi Dominus Deus cæli, et ipse præcepit mihi ut ædificarem ei domum in Jerusalem, quæ est in Judæa.
³ Quis est in vobis de universo populo ejus ? Sit Deus illius cum ipso. Ascendat in Jerusalem, quæ est in Judæa, et ædificet domum Domini Dei Israël : ipse est Deus qui est in Jerusalem.
⁴ Et omnes reliqui in cunctis locis ubicumque habitant, adjuvent eum viri de loco suo argento et auro, et substantia, et pecoribus, excepto quod voluntarie offerunt templo Dei, quod est in Jerusalem.
⁵ Et surrexerunt principes patrum de Juda et Benjamin, et sacerdotes, et Levitæ, et omnis cujus Deus suscitavit spiritum, ut ascenderent ad ædificandum templum Domini, quod erat in Jerusalem.
⁶ Universique qui erant in circuitu, adjuverunt manus eorum in vasis argenteis et aureis, in substantia et jumentis, in supellectili, exceptis his quæ sponte obtulerant.
⁷ Rex quoque Cyrus protulit vasa templi Domini, quæ tulerat Nabuchodonosor de Jerusalem, et posuerat ea in templo dei sui.
⁸ Protulit autem ea Cyrus rex Persarum per manum Mithridatis filii Gazabar, et annumeravit ea Sassabasar principi Juda.
⁹ Et hic est numerus eorum : phialæ aureæ triginta, phialæ argenteæ mille, cultri viginti novem, scyphi aurei triginta,
¹⁰ scyphi argentei secundi quadringenti decem, vasa alia mille.
¹¹ Omnia vasa aurea et argentea quinque millia quadringenta : universa tulit Sassabasar cum his qui ascendebant de transmigratione Babylonis in Jerusalem.
