Jb 33:14-18 (King James)

   ¹⁴ For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. ¹⁵ In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; ¹⁶ Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, ¹⁷ That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. ¹⁸ He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

¹⁴ »Dieu parle cependant, tantôt d'une manière,
tantôt d'une autre, et on ne le remarque pas.
¹⁵ Il parle par des rêves, par des visions nocturnes,
quand un sommeil profond tombe sur les hommes,
quand ils sont endormis sur leur lit.
¹⁶ Il leur communique alors son message
et confirme les avertissements qu'il leur donne.
¹⁷ Il veut ainsi détourner l'homme de sa manière de faire.
Il évite à l'homme fort de tomber dans l'orgueil,
¹⁸ il préserve son âme de la tombe
et sa vie de la menace du javelot.
