⁴ Et Jésus répondant, leur dit : Prenez garde que personne ne vous séduise ;
⁵ car beaucoup viendront en mon nom, disant : C'est moi qui suis le Christ ! Et ils séduiront beaucoup de gens.
⁶ Cependant vous entendrez parler de guerres et de bruits de guerres ; prenez garde, ne soyez pas troublés ; car il faut que cela arrive ; mais ce n'est pas encore la fin.
⁷ Car nation se lèvera contre nation, et royaume contre royaume ; et il y aura des famines et des tremblements de terre en divers lieux.
⁸ Mais tout cela sera le commencement des douleurs.
⁹ Alors ils vous livreront à la tribulation et ils vous feront mourir ; et vous serez haïs de toutes les nations à cause de mon nom.
¹⁰ Et alors beaucoup seront scandalisés, et ils se livreront les uns les autres, et se haïront les uns les autres
¹¹ Et beaucoup de faux prophètes s'élèveront et ils séduiront beaucoup de gens.
¹² Et parce que l'iniquité se sera multipliée, la charité du plus grand nombre se refroidira.
¹³ Mais celui qui aura persévéré jusqu'à la fin, celui-là sera sauvé.
¹⁴ Et cet Evangile du royaume sera prêché par toute la terre, pour servir de témoignage à toutes les nations ; et alors viendra la fin.
¹⁵ Quand donc vous verrez établie en lieu saint l'abomination de la désolation dont il a été parlé par le prophète Daniel (que celui qui le lit y fasse attention),
¹⁶ alors, que ceux qui seront dans la Judée s'enfuient dans les montagnes ;
¹⁷ que celui qui sera sur le toit ne descende point pour emporter ce qui est dans sa maison ;
¹⁸ et que celui qui sera aux champs ne retourne point en arrière pour prendre son manteau.
¹⁹ Mais malheur à celles qui seront enceintes et à celles qui allaiteront en ces jours-là !
²⁰ Priez pour que votre fuite n'arrive pas en hiver, ni en un jour de sabbat.
²¹ Car il y aura alors une grande tribulation, telle qu'il n'y en a point eu depuis le commencement du monde jusqu'à maintenant et qu'il n'y en aura jamais.
²² Et si ces jours-là n'avaient pas été abrégés, nulle chair ne serait sauvée ; mais à cause des élus, ces jours seront abrégés.
²³ Alors, si quelqu'un vous dit : Voici, le Christ est ici, ou : Il est là, ne le croyez point ;
²⁴ car de faux Christs et de faux prophètes s'élèveront, et feront de grands signes et des prodiges, au point de séduire, si possible, les élus mêmes.
²⁵ Voici, je vous l'ai prédit.
²⁶ Si donc on vous dit : Voici, il est dans le désert, n'y allez pas ; voici il est dans les chambres, ne le croyez pas.
²⁷ Car, comme l'éclair sort de l'orient et paraît jusqu'à l'occident, ainsi sera l'avènement du fils de l'homme.
²⁸ Où que soit le cadavre, là s'assembleront les aigles.
²⁹ Et aussitôt après l'affliction de ces jours-là, le soleil s'obscurcira, et la lune ne donnera pas sa lumière, et les étoiles tomberont du ciel, et les puissances des cieux seront ébranlées.
³⁰ Et alors le signe du fils de l'homme paraîtra dans le ciel ; et alors toutes les tribus de la terre se lamenteront, et elles verront le fils de l'homme venant sur les nuées du ciel, avec grande puissance et gloire.
³¹ Et il enverra ses anges avec un grand son de trompette, et ils rassembleront ses élus des quatre vents, depuis une extrémité des cieux jusqu'à l'autre extrémité.

⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
⁵ For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
⁶ And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
⁸ All these are the beginning of sorrows.
⁹ Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
¹⁰ And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
¹¹ And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
¹² And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
¹³ But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
¹⁵ When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
¹⁶ Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
¹⁷ Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
¹⁸ Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
¹⁹ And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
²⁰ But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
²¹ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
²² And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
²³ Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
²⁴ For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
²⁵ Behold, I have told you before.
²⁶ Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
²⁸ For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
²⁹ Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
³⁰ And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
³¹ And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

¹⁰ καὶ τότε σκανδαλισθήσονται πολλοὶ καὶ ἀλλήλους παραδώσουσιν καὶ μισήσουσιν ἀλλήλους
¹¹ καὶ πολλοὶ ψευδοπροφῆται ἐγερθήσονται καὶ πλανήσουσιν πολλούς
¹² καὶ διὰ τὸ πληθυνθῆναι τὴν ἀνομίαν ψυγήσεται ἡ ἀγάπη τῶν πολλῶν
¹³ ὁ δὲ ὑπομείνας εἰς τέλος οὗτος σωθήσεται

⁷ consurget enim gens in gentem, et regnum in regnum, et erunt pestilentiæ, et fames, et terræmotus per loca :
