¹ Au maître chantre. Psaume de David.
² Eternel ! le roi se réjouit en ta force. Combien la délivrance le remplit d'allégresse !
³ Tu lui as accordé le désir de son coeur ; Tu ne lui as point refusé la demande de ses lèvres. (Jeux d'instruments.)
⁴ Car tu es venu au-devant de lui avec des bénédictions excellentes, Tu as mis sur sa tête une couronne d'or.
⁵ Il t'a demandé la vie, tu la lui as donnée, Une vie longue, permanente, pour toujours.
⁶ Grande est sa gloire par ta délivrance ; Tu as posé sur lui la splendeur et la magnificence.
⁷ Car tu l'as placé pour être bénédiction à toujours ; Tu le combles de joie en ta présence.
⁸ Car le roi se confie en l'Eternel, Et par la grâce du Très-Haut il ne sera point ébranlé.
⁹ Ta main atteindra tous tes ennemis, Ta droite atteindra ceux qui te haïssent.
¹⁰ Tu les rendras pareils à une fournaise ardente, quand se montrera ta face, L'Eternel les engloutira en sa colère, et le feu les dévorera.
¹¹ Tu feras périr leur fruit de dessus la terre, Et leur postérité d'entre les fils des hommes.
¹² Car ils ont projeté du mal contre toi, Ils ont médité de mauvais desseins ; ils seront impuissants.
¹³ Car tu leur feras tourner le dos, Tu dirigeras ton arc contre leurs faces.
¹⁴ Lève-toi, Eternel, dans ta force ! Nous voulons chanter et célébrer tes hauts faits.

¹ The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
² Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
³ For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
⁴ He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
⁵ His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
⁶ For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
⁷ For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
⁸ Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
⁹ Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
¹⁰ Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
¹¹ For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
¹² Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
¹³ Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

² [Deus, Deus meus, respice in me : quare me dereliquisti ? longe a salute mea verba delictorum meorum.
³ Deus meus, clamabo per diem, et non exaudies ; et nocte, et non ad insipientiam mihi.
⁴ Tu autem in sancto habitas, laus Israël.
⁵ In te speraverunt patres nostri ; speraverunt, et liberasti eos.
⁶ Ad te clamaverunt, et salvi facti sunt ; in te speraverunt, et non sunt confusi.
⁷ Ego autem sum vermis, et non homo ; opprobrium hominum, et abjectio plebis.
⁸ Omnes videntes me deriserunt me ; locuti sunt labiis, et moverunt caput.
⁹ Speravit in Domino, eripiat eum : salvum faciat eum, quoniam vult eum.
¹⁰ Quoniam tu es qui extraxisti me de ventre, spes mea ab uberibus matris meæ.
¹¹ In te projectus sum ex utero ; de ventre matris meæ Deus meus es tu :
¹² ne discesseris a me, quoniam tribulatio proxima est, quoniam non est qui adjuvet.
¹³ Circumdederunt me vituli multi ; tauri pingues obsederunt me.
