Ps 35:17-28 (King James)

   ¹⁷ Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. ¹⁸ I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. ¹⁹ Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. ²⁰ For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. ²¹ Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it. ²² This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. ²³ Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. ²⁴ Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. ²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up. ²⁶ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. ²⁷ Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. ²⁸ And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

   ¹⁷ Seigneur, jusques à quand le verras-tu? Délivre mon âme de leurs violences; arrache au lion mon unique bien! ¹⁸ Je te célébrerai dans la grande assemblée; je te louerai au milieu d'un peuple nombreux. ¹⁹ Que mes injustes ennemis ne se réjouissent point à mon sujet; que ceux qui me haïssent sans cause ne clignent pas l'oeil! ²⁰ Car ils ne parlent point de paix, mais ils méditent des tromperies contre les gens paisibles du pays. ²¹ Ils ont ouvert contre moi leur bouche, disant: Ah! ah! notre oeil a vu! ²² Tu l'as vu, Éternel; ne te tais point! ²³ Seigneur, ne sois pas loin de moi! Réveille-toi, lève-toi pour me faire droit, mon Dieu, mon Seigneur, pour défendre ma cause! ²⁴ Juge-moi selon ta justice, Éternel mon Dieu, et qu'ils ne se réjouissent point de moi! ²⁵ Qu'ils ne disent pas en leur coeur: Ah! notre âme est contente! Qu'ils ne disent pas: Nous l'avons englouti! ²⁶ Qu'ils soient honteux et confus, tous ceux qui se réjouissent de mon mal! Qu'ils soient revêtus de honte et de confusion, ceux qui s'élèvent fièrement contre moi! ²⁷ Que ceux qui prennent plaisir à ma justice chantent et se réjouissent! Et que sans cesse ils disent: Magnifié soit l'Éternel, qui se plaît à la prospérité de son serviteur! ²⁸ Alors ma langue racontera ta justice, et tous les jours elle dira tes louanges.
