¹ The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
² And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
³ And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
⁴ And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
⁵ O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
⁶ Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
⁷ Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
⁸ Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
⁹ And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.
¹⁰ Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
¹¹ The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
¹² For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
¹³ And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
¹⁴ And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
¹⁵ And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
¹⁶ And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
¹⁷ And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
¹⁸ And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
¹⁹ And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
²⁰ In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
²¹ To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
²² Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

¹ La parole qui fut révélée à Ésaïe, fils d'Amots, sur Juda et Jérusalem.
² Il arrivera, aux derniers jours, que la montagne de la maison de l'Éternel sera établie au-dessus des montagnes, et s'élèvera par-dessus les collines; et toutes les nations y afflueront.
³ Et plusieurs peuples viendront et diront: Venez et montons à la montagne de l'Éternel, à la maison du Dieu de Jacob; il nous instruira de ses voies, et nous marcherons dans ses sentiers! Car la loi sortira de Sion et la parole de l'Éternel de Jérusalem.
⁴ Il jugera entre les nations, et sera l'arbitre de plusieurs peuples. Alors ils forgeront de leurs épées des hoyaux, et de leurs lances, des serpes; une nation ne lèvera plus l'épée contre l'autre, et on n'apprendra plus la guerre.
⁵ Maison de Jacob, venez et marchons à la lumière de l'Éternel!
⁶ Car tu as rejeté ton peuple, la maison de Jacob, parce qu'ils sont pleins des pratiques de l'Orient et adonnés à la divination comme les Philistins, et qu'ils s'allient aux enfants des étrangers.
⁷ Son pays est plein d'argent et d'or, et il n'y a point de fin à ses trésors; son pays est plein de chevaux, et il n'y a point de fin à ses chars.
⁸ Son pays est plein d'idoles; ils se prosternent devant l'ouvrage de leurs mains, devant ce que leurs doigts ont façonné.
⁹ Et les hommes sont humiliés, et les grands sont abaissés; mais tu ne leur pardonneras point!
¹⁰ Entre dans les rochers et cache-toi dans la poussière, pour fuir la frayeur de l'Éternel et la gloire de sa majesté!
¹¹ L'homme aux regards superbes sera abaissé, et l'homme orgueilleux sera humilié; et l'Éternel seul sera grand en ce jour-là.
¹² Car l'Éternel des armées aura son jour, contre tout ce qui est orgueilleux et hautain, et contre tout ce qui s'élève, pour l'abaisser;
¹³ Contre tous les cèdres du Liban, hauts et élevés, et contre tous les chênes de Bassan;
¹⁴ Contre toutes les hautes montagnes, et contre tous les coteaux élevés;
¹⁵ Contre toute haute tour, et contre toute muraille forte;
¹⁶ Contre tous les navires de Tarsis, et contre tout ce qui plaît à la vue.
¹⁷ Et l'arrogance des hommes sera humiliée, et la fierté des grands sera abaissée; et l'Éternel sera seul élevé en ce jour-là,
¹⁸ Et toutes les idoles disparaîtront.
¹⁹ Et l'on entrera dans les cavernes des rochers et dans les trous de la terre, pour fuir la frayeur de l'Éternel et la gloire de sa majesté, quand il se lèvera pour frapper la terre.
²⁰ En ce jour-là, l'homme jettera aux taupes et aux chauves-souris ses idoles d'argent et ses idoles d'or, qu'il s'était faites pour les adorer;
²¹ Et ils entreront dans les fentes des rochers et dans les creux des montagnes, pour fuir la frayeur de l'Éternel et la gloire de sa majesté, quand il se lèvera pour frapper la terre.
²² Cessez de compter sur l'homme, qui n'a qu'un souffle dans ses narines; car quel cas peut-on faire de lui?

² [Et erit in novissimis diebus : præparatus mons domus Domini in vertice montium, et elevabitur super colles ; et fluent ad eum omnes gentes,
³ et ibunt populi multi, et dicent : Venite, et ascendamus ad montem Domini, et ad domum Dei Jacob ; et docebit nos vias suas, et ambulabimus in semitis ejus, quia de Sion exibit lex, et verbum Domini de Jerusalem.
⁴ Et judicabit gentes, et arguet populos multos ; et conflabunt gladios suos in vomeres, et lanceas suas in falces. Non levabit gens contra gentem gladium, nec exercebuntur ultra ad prælium.

⁶ [Projecisti enim populum tuum, domum Jacob, quia repleti sunt ut olim, et augeres habuerunt ut Philisthiim, et pueris alienis adhæserunt.
⁷ Repleta est terra argento et auro, et non est finis thesaurorum ejus.
⁸ Et repleta est terra ejus equis, et innumerabiles quadrigæ ejus. Et repleta est terra ejus idolis ; opus manuum suarum adoraverunt, quod fecerunt digiti eorum.
⁹ Et incurvavit se homo, et humiliatus est vir ; ne ergo dimittas eis.
¹⁰ Ingredere in petram, et abscondere in fossa humo a facie timoris Domini, et a gloria majestatis ejus.
¹¹ Oculi sublimes hominis humiliati sunt, et incurvabitur altitudo virorum ; exaltabitur autem Dominus solus in die illa.
¹² Quia dies Domini exercituum super omnem superbum, et excelsum, et super omnem arrogantem, et humiliabitur ;
¹³ et super omnes cedros Libani sublimes et erectas, et super omnes quercus Basan,
¹⁴ et super omnes montes excelsos, et super omnes colles elevatos,
¹⁵ et super omnem turrim excelsam, et super omnem murum munitum,
¹⁶ et super omnes naves Tharsis, et super omne quod visu pulchrum est,
¹⁷ et incurvabitur sublimitas hominum, et humiliabitur altitudo virorum, et elevabitur Dominus solus in die illa ;
¹⁸ et idola penitus conterentur ;
¹⁹ et introibunt in speluncas petrarum, et in voragines terræ, a facie formidinis Domini et a gloria majestatis ejus, cum surrexerit percutere terram.
²⁰ In die illa projiciet homo idola argenti sui, et simulacra auri sui, quæ fecerat sibi ut adoraret, talpas et vespertiliones.
²¹ Et ingredietur scissuras petrarum et in cavernas saxorum, a facie formidinis Domini, et a gloria majestatis ejus, cum surrexerit percutere terram.
