¹ The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
² Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.
³ Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.
⁴ Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.
⁵ Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.
⁶ In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.
⁷ And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
⁸ And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
⁹ Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
¹⁰ Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.
¹¹ Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
¹² And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.
¹³ My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
¹⁴ And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
¹⁵ And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
¹⁶ But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
¹⁷ Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
¹⁸ Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;
¹⁹ And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
²⁰ And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
²¹ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
²² Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
²³ Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
²⁴ For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
²⁵ For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
²⁶ Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying.
²⁷ Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
²⁸ Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

Jugement du roi; dispersion d'Israël

¹ La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
² Fils de l'homme, tu habites au milieu d'une famille de rebelles, qui ont des yeux pour voir et qui ne voient point, des oreilles pour entendre et qui n'entendent point; car c'est une famille de rebelles.
³ Et toi, fils de l'homme, prépare tes effets de voyage, et pars de jour, sous leurs yeux! Pars, en leur présence, du lieu où tu es pour un autre lieu: peut-être verront-ils qu'ils sont une famille de rebelles.
⁴ Sors tes effets comme des effets de voyage, de jour sous leurs yeux; et toi, pars le soir, en leur présence, comme partent des exilés.
⁵ Sous leurs yeux, tu perceras la muraille, et tu sortiras tes effets par là.
⁶ Sous leurs yeux, tu les mettras sur ton épaule, tu les sortiras pendant l'obscurité, tu te couvriras le visage, et tu ne regarderas pas la terre; car je veux que tu sois un signe pour la maison d'Israël.
⁷ Je fis ce qui m'avait été ordonné: je sortis de jour mes effets comme des effets de voyage, le soir je perçai la muraille avec la main, et je les sortis pendant l'obscurité et les mis sur mon épaule, en leur présence.
⁸ Le matin, la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
⁹ Fils de l'homme, la maison d'Israël, cette famille de rebelles ne t'a-t-elle pas dit: Que fais-tu?
¹⁰ Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Cet oracle concerne le prince qui est à Jérusalem, et toute la maison d'Israël qui s'y trouve.
¹¹ Dis: Je suis pour vous un signe. Ce que j'ai fait, c'est ce qui leur sera fait: Ils iront en exil, en captivité.
¹² Le prince qui est au milieu d'eux Mettra son bagage sur l'épaule pendant l'obscurité et partira; On percera la muraille pour le faire sortir; Il se couvrira le visage, Pour que ses yeux ne regardent pas la terre.
¹³ J'étendrai mon rets sur lui, Et il sera pris dans mon filet; Je l'emmènerai à Babylone, dans le pays des Chaldéens; Mais il ne le verra pas, et il y mourra.
¹⁴ Tous ceux qui l'entourent et lui sont en aide, Et toutes ses troupes, je les disperserai à tous les vents, Et je tirerai l'épée derrière eux.
¹⁵ Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel, Quand je les disséminerai parmi les nations, Quand je les disperserai en divers pays.
¹⁶ Mais je laisserai d'eux quelques hommes Qui échapperont à l'épée, à la famine et à la peste, Afin qu'ils racontent toutes leurs abominations Parmi les nations où ils iront. Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel.
¹⁷ La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
¹⁸ Fils de l'homme, tu mangeras ton pain avec tremblement, Tu boiras ton eau avec inquiétude et angoisse.
¹⁹ Dis au peuple du pays: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel, Sur les habitants de Jérusalem dans la terre d'Israël! Ils mangeront leur pain avec angoisse, Et ils boiront leur eau avec épouvante; Car leur pays sera dépouillé de tout ce qu'il contient, A cause de la violence de tous ceux qui l'habitent.
²⁰ Les villes peuplées seront détruites, Et le pays sera ravagé. Et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.
²¹ La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
²² Fils de l'homme, que signifient ces discours moqueurs Que vous tenez dans le pays d'Israël: Les jours se prolongent, Et toutes les visions restent sans effet?
²³ C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Je ferai cesser ces discours moqueurs; On ne les tiendra plus en Israël. Dis-leur, au contraire: Les jours approchent, Et toutes les visions s'accompliront.
²⁴ Car il n'y aura plus de visions vaines, Ni d'oracles trompeurs, Au milieu de la maison d'Israël.
²⁵ Car moi, l'Eternel, je parlerai; Ce que je dirai s'accomplira, Et ne sera plus différé; Oui, de vos jours, famille de rebelles, Je prononcerai une parole et je l'accomplirai, Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.
²⁶ La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
²⁷ Fils de l'homme, voici, la maison d'Israël dit: Les visions qu'il a ne sont pas près de s'accomplir; Il prophétise pour des temps éloignés.
²⁸ C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Il n'y aura plus de délai dans l'accomplissement de mes paroles; La parole que je prononcerai s'accomplira, Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.

¹ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :
² Fili hominis, in medio domus exasperantis tu habitas : qui oculos habent ad videndum, et non vident, et aures ad audiendum, et non audiunt : quia domus exasperans est.
³ Tu ergo, fili hominis, fac tibi vasa transmigrationis, et transmigrabis per diem coram eis. Transmigrabis autem de loco tuo ad locum alterum in conspectu eorum, si forte aspiciant, quia domus exasperans est :
⁴ et efferes foras vasa tua quasi vasa transmigrantis per diem in conspectu eorum : tu autem egredieris vespere coram eis, sicut egreditur migrans.
⁵ Ante oculos eorum perfode tibi parietem, et egredieris per eum.
⁶ In conspectu eorum in humeris portaberis ; in caligine effereris : faciem tuam velabis, et non videbis terram, quia portentum dedi te domui Israël.
⁷ Feci ergo sicut præceperat mihi Dominus : vasa mea protuli quasi vasa transmigrantis per diem, et vespere perfodi mihi parietem manu : et in caligine egressus sum, in humeris portatus in conspectu eorum.
⁸ Et factus est sermo Domini mane ad me, dicens :
⁹ Fili hominis, numquid non dixerunt ad te domus Israël, domus exasperans : Quid tu facis ?
¹⁰ Dic ad eos : [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Super ducem onus istud, qui est in Jerusalem, et super omnem domum Israël, quæ est in medio eorum.]
¹¹ Dic : [Ego portentum vestrum : quomodo feci, sic fiet illis : in transmigrationem et in captivitatem ibunt.
¹² Et dux qui est in medio eorum, in humeris portabitur ; in caligine egredietur : parietem perfodient, ut educant eum ; facies ejus operietur, ut non videat oculo terram.

¹⁹ Et dices ad populum terræ : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus ad eos qui habitant in Jerusalem, in terra Israël : Panem suum in sollicitudine comedent, et aquam suam in desolatione bibent : ut desoletur terra a multitudine sua, propter iniquitatem omnium qui habitant in ea.
²⁰ Et civitates quæ nunc habitantur, desolatæ erunt, terraque deserta, et scietis quia ego Dominus.]
²¹ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :
²² [Fili hominis, quod est proverbium istud vobis in terra Israël, dicentium : In longum differentur dies, et peribit omnis visio ?
²³ Ideo dic ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Quiescere faciam proverbium istud, neque vulgo dicetur ultra in Israël : et loquere ad eos quod appropinquaverint dies, et sermo omnis visionis.
²⁴ Non enim erit ultra omnis visio cassa, neque divinatio ambigua in medio filiorum Israël :
²⁵ quia ego Dominus loquar, et quodcumque locutus fuero verbum, fiet, et non prolongabitur amplius : sed in diebus vestris, domus exasperans, loquar verbum, et faciam illud, dicit Dominus Deus.]
