¹ Au commencement Dieu créa les cieux et la terre.
² Et la terre était déserte et vide ; les ténèbres couvraient l'abîme et l'Esprit de Dieu reposait sur les eaux.
³ Et Dieu dit : Que la lumière soit. Et la lumière fut.
⁴ Et Dieu vit que la lumière était bonne, et Dieu sépara la lumière et les ténèbres.
⁵ Et Dieu appela la lumière jour, et il appela les ténèbres nuit. Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin ; ce fut un jour.
⁶ Et Dieu dit : Qu'il y ait une étendue entre les eaux, et qu'elle sépare les eaux d'avec les eaux.
⁷ Et Dieu fit l'étendue et sépara les eaux qui sont au-dessous de l'étendue et les eaux qui sont au-dessus de l'étendue, et cela fut.
⁸ Et Dieu appela l'étendue cieux. Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin ; ce fut le second jour.
⁹ Et Dieu dit : Que les eaux de dessous les cieux s'amoncellent en un seul lieu et que le sec paraisse. Et cela fut.
¹⁰ Et Dieu appela le sec terre et il appela l'amas des eaux mers ; et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
¹¹ Et Dieu dit : Que la terre fasse pousser du gazon, des herbes portant semence, des arbres à fruits produisant, selon leur espèce, du fruit ayant en soi sa semence, sur la terre. Et cela fut.
¹² Et la terre fit sortir des plantes, des herbes portant semence selon leur espèce et des arbres produisant selon leur espèce du fruit ayant en soi sa semence ; et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
¹³ Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin ; ce fut le troisième jour.
¹⁴ Et Dieu dit : Qu'il y ait des luminaires dans l'étendue des cieux pour séparer le jour et la nuit, et qu'ils servent de signes et qu'ils fassent les époques et les jours et années ;
¹⁵ et qu'ils servent dans l'étendue des cieux de luminaires pour luire sur la terre. Et cela fut.
¹⁶ Et Dieu fit les deux grands luminaires, le plus grand luminaire pour dominer sur le jour et le plus petit pour dominer sur la nuit, et les étoiles.
¹⁷ Et Dieu les plaça dans l'étendue des cieux pour luire sur la terre,
¹⁸ et pour dominer sur le jour et sur la nuit, et pour séparer la lumière et les ténèbres. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
¹⁹ Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin ; ce fut le quatrième jour.
²⁰ Et Dieu dit : Que les eaux foisonnent d'une multitude d'êtres animés, et que des volatiles volent sur la terre, sur la face de l'étendue des cieux.
²¹ Et Dieu créa les grandes bêtes aquatiques et tout être animé qui se meut, dont les eaux fourmillent, selon leur espèce, et tout volatile ailé selon son espèce. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
²² Et Dieu les bénit en disant : Fructifiez et multipliez et remplissez les eaux dans les mers, et que les oiseaux multiplient sur la terre.
²³ Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin ; ce fut le cinquième jour.
²⁴ Et Dieu dit : Que la terre fasse sortir des êtres animés selon leur espèce, le bétail, les reptiles et les animaux terrestres selon leur espèce. Et cela fut.
²⁵ Et Dieu fit des animaux terrestres selon leur espèce. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
²⁶ Et Dieu dit : Faisons l'homme à notre image, selon notre ressemblance, et qu'ils dominent sur les poissons de la mer et sur les oiseaux du ciel et sur le bétail et sur toute la terre et sur tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre.
²⁷ Et Dieu créa l'homme à son image. Il l'a créé à l'image de Dieu. Il les a créés mâle et femelle.
²⁸ Et Dieu les bénit, et Dieu leur dit : Fructifiez et multipliez et remplissez la terre et soumettez-la, et assujettissez-vous les poissons de la mer et les oiseaux des cieux et tout animal qui se meut sur la terre.
²⁹ Et Dieu dit : Voici, je vous ai donné toute herbe portant semence qui est sur la face de toute la terre, et tous les arbres qui ont un fruit d'arbre portant semence ; cela vous servira de nourriture.
³⁰ Et à tout animal de la terre et à tout oiseau des cieux et à tout ce qui se meut sur la terre ayant en soi une âme vivante, j'ai donné toute herbe pour nourriture. Et cela fut.
³¹ Et Dieu vit tout ce qu'il avait fait, et voici c'était très bon. Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin ; ce fut le sixième jour.

¹ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
² And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
³ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
⁶ And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
⁷ And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
⁸ And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

²⁴ And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
²⁵ And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
²⁷ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

³⁰ And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
