BCC ⁴ Alors Saül dit à son écuyer : « Tire ton épée et m'en transperce, de peur que ces incirconcis ne viennent m'outrager. » L'écuyer ne le voulut pas faire, car il était saisi de crainte ; alors Saül prit son épée et se jeta dessus.

KJV ⁴ Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

S21 ⁴ Saül dit alors à son porteur d'armes: «Tire ton épée et transperce-moi! Sinon, ce seront ces incirconcis qui viendront et ils me feront subir leurs mauvais traitements.» Son porteur d'armes ne voulut pas le tuer, car il était rempli de peur. Alors Saül prit son épée et se jeta dessus.

BCC ⁷ Tous les hommes d'Israël qui étaient dans la plaine, voyant que les enfants d'Israël s'étaient enfuis, et que Saül et ses fils étaient morts, abandonnèrent leurs villes et prirent aussi la fuite ; et les Philistins vinrent et s'y établirent.

KJV ⁷ And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

S21 ⁷ Lorsqu'ils virent qu'on s'enfuyait et que Saül et ses fils étaient morts, tous ceux d'Israël qui étaient dans la vallée abandonnèrent leurs villes pour prendre aussi la fuite. Les Philistins allèrent s'y installer.

BCC ¹³ Saül mourut à cause de la transgression dont il s'était rendu coupable envers Yahweh, parce qu'il n'avait pas observé la parole de Yahweh, et pour avoir interrogé et consulté ceux qui évoquent les morts.
