BAN ¹ Et David, âgé et rassasié de jours, établit Salomon, son fils, roi sur Israël.

KJV ¹ So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

BAN ² Et il assembla tous les princes d'Israël, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites.

KJV ² And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.

BAN ³ Et on fit le dénombrement des Lévites, depuis l'âge de trente ans et au-dessus ; et leur nombre, par tête, s'élevait à trente-huit mille hommes.

KJV ³ Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.

BAN ⁴ Qu'il y en ait, [dit David], vingt-quatre mille qui veillent aux travaux de la maison de l'Eternel, six mille qui soient magistrats et juges,

KJV ⁴ Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:

BAN ⁵ quatre mille portiers, et quatre mille qui célèbrent l'Eternel avec les instruments que j'ai préparés pour le célébrer.

KJV ⁵ Moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.

BAN ⁶ Et David les divisa en classes, d'après les fils de Lévi, Guerson, Kéhath et Mérari.

KJV ⁶ And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, namely, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

BAN ⁷ Pour les Guersonites : Laédan et Siméi.

KJV ⁷ Of the Gershonites were, Laadan, and Shimei.

BAN ⁸ Fils de Laédan : le chef Jéhiel, et Zétham et Joël, trois.

KJV ⁸ The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

BAN ⁹ Fils de Siméi : Sélomoth et Haziel et Haran, trois ; ce sont les chefs des familles de Laédan.

KJV ⁹ The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief of the fathers of Laadan.

BAN ¹⁰ Fils de Siméi : Jahath, Zina, et Jéusch et Béria ; ce sont là les fils de Siméi, quatre.

KJV ¹⁰ And the sons of Shimei were, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.

BAN ¹¹ Jahath était le chef, et Zina le second ; quant à Jéusch et Béria, ils n'eurent pas beaucoup de fils et ils formèrent une seule maison patriarcale, pour un seul office.

KJV ¹¹ And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to their father's house.

BAN ¹² Fils de Kéhath : Amram, Jitséhar, Hébron et Uzziel, quatre.

KJV ¹² The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

BAN ¹³ Fils d'Amram : Aaron et Moïse. Aaron fut mis à part pour être consacré comme très saint, lui et ses fils à toujours, pour offrir les parfums devant l'Eternel, pour le servir et pour bénir en son nom, à toujours.

KJV ¹³ The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.

BAN ¹⁴ Quant à Moïse, l'homme de Dieu, ses fils furent comptés dans la tribu de Lévi.

KJV ¹⁴ Now concerning Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.

BAN ¹⁵ Fils de Moïse : Guersom et Eliézer.

KJV ¹⁵ The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eliezer.

BAN ¹⁶ Fils de Guersom : Schébuel, le chef.

KJV ¹⁶ Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.

BAN ¹⁷ Et les fils d'Eliézer furent : Réchabia, le chef. Eliézer n'eut pas d'autres fils, mais les fils de Réchabia furent très nombreux.

KJV ¹⁷ And the sons of Eliezer were, Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had none other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.

BAN ¹⁸ Fils de Jitséhar : Sélomith, le chef.

KJV ¹⁸ Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.

BAN ¹⁹ Fils de Hébron : Jérija, le chef ; Amaria, le second ; Jahaziel, le troisième, et Jékaméam, le quatrième.

KJV ¹⁹ Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

BAN ²⁰ Fils d'Uzziel : Michée, le chef ; et Jissija, le second.

KJV ²⁰ Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first and Jesiah the second.

BAN ²¹ Fils de Mérari : Machli et Muschi. Fils de Machli : Eléazar et Kis.

KJV ²¹ The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.

BAN ²² Et Eléazar mourut, et il n'eut pas de fils, mais des filles, qui épousèrent les fils de Kis, leurs parents.

KJV ²² And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.

BAN ²³ Fils de Muschi : Machli et Eder et Jérémoth, trois.

KJV ²³ The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.

BAN ²⁴ Ce sont là les fils de Lévi, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, les chefs de familles, selon leur recensement, d'après leur dénombrement nominal, par tête ; ils étaient employés au service de la maison de l'Eternel, depuis l'âge de vingt ans et au-dessus.

KJV ²⁴ These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.

BAN ²⁵ Car David dit : L'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, a donné du repos à son peuple et il a fixé sa demeure à Jérusalem, à jamais.

KJV ²⁵ For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:

BAN ²⁶ Ainsi les Lévites n'auront plus à porter le Tabernacle et tous les ustensiles pour son service.

KJV ²⁶ And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.

BAN ²⁷ (Car d'après les dernières paroles de David les fils de Lévi étaient comptés à partir de vingt ans et au-dessus.)

KJV ²⁷ For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

BAN ²⁸ Car leur place est auprès des fils d'Aaron, pour le service de la maison de l'Eternel ; ils ont à surveiller les parvis, les chambres, la purification de toutes les choses saintes ; ils font l'ouvrage concernant le service de la maison de Dieu,

KJV ²⁸ Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

BAN ²⁹ les pains de proposition, la fleur de farine pour les offrandes, les galettes sans levain, les gâteaux cuits à la poêle, les fritures et tout ce qui concerne les mesures de capacité et de longueur.

KJV ²⁹ Both for the shewbread, and for the fine flour for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;

BAN ³⁰ En outre, ils ont à se présenter chaque matin pour louer et célébrer l'Eternel, et de même le soir,

KJV ³⁰ And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even:

BAN ³¹ ainsi que chaque fois qu'on offre des holocaustes à l'Eternel, aux sabbats, aux nouvelles lunes et aux fêtes, sans exception, suivant la prescription y relative [d'en offrir] continuellement devant l'Eternel.

KJV ³¹ And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:

BAN ³² Ils doivent ainsi donner tous leurs soins au Tabernacle d'assignation, au sanctuaire, et aux fils d'Aaron, leurs frères, pour le service de la maison de l'Eternel.

KJV ³² And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
