KJV ¹ Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

KJV ² And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

MAR ² Et si quelqu'un croit savoir quelque chose, il n'a encore rien connu comme il faut connaître ;

TR1550 ² εἰ δέ τις δοκεῖ εἰδέναι τι οὐδέπω οὐδὲν ἔγνωκεν καθὼς δεῖ γνῶναι

KJV ³ But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

MAR ³ Mais si quelqu'un aime Dieu, il est connu de lui.

TR1550 ³ εἰ δέ τις ἀγαπᾷ τὸν θεόν οὗτος ἔγνωσται ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ

KJV ⁴ As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

KJV ⁵ For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

KJV ⁷ Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

MAR ⁷ Mais il n'y a pas en tous la [même] connaissance ; car quelques-uns qui jusqu'à présent font conscience à cause de l'idole, de manger des choses qui ont été sacrifiées à l'idole, en mangent pourtant ; c'est pourquoi leur conscience étant faible, elle en est souillée.

TR1550 ⁷ ἀλλ᾽ οὐκ ἐν πᾶσιν ἡ γνῶσις τινὲς δὲ τῇ συνειδήσει τοῦ εἰδώλου ἕως ἄρτι ὡς εἰδωλόθυτον ἐσθίουσιν καὶ ἡ συνείδησις αὐτῶν ἀσθενὴς οὖσα μολύνεται

KJV ⁸ But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

MAR ⁸ Or la viande ne nous rend pas agréables à Dieu ; car si nous mangeons, nous n'en avons rien davantage ; et si nous ne mangeons point, nous n'en avons pas moins.

TR1550 ⁸ βρῶμα δὲ ἡμᾶς οὐ παρίστησιν τῷ θεῷ οὔτε γὰρ ἐὰν φάγωμεν περισσεύομεν οὔτε ἐὰν μὴ φάγωμεν ὑστερούμεθα

KJV ⁹ But take heed lest by any means this liberty of your's become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

MAR ⁹ Mais prenez garde que cette liberté que vous avez, ne soit en quelque sorte en scandale aux faibles.

TR1550 ⁹ βλέπετε δὲ μήπως ἡ ἐξουσία ὑμῶν αὕτη πρόσκομμα γένηται τοῖς ἀσθενοῦσιν

KJV ¹⁰ For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

MAR ¹⁰ Car si quelqu'un te voit, toi qui as de la connaissance, être à table au temple des idoles, la conscience de celui qui est faible, ne sera-t-elle pas induite à manger des choses sacrifiées à l'idole ?

TR1550 ¹⁰ ἐὰν γάρ τις ἴδῃ σὲ τὸν ἔχοντα γνῶσιν ἐν εἰδωλείῳ κατακείμενον οὐχὶ ἡ συνείδησις αὐτοῦ ἀσθενοῦς ὄντος οἰκοδομηθήσεται εἰς τὸ τὰ εἰδωλόθυτα ἐσθίειν

KJV ¹¹ And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

MAR ¹¹ Et ainsi ton frère, qui est faible, pour lequel Christ est mort, périra par ta connaissance.

TR1550 ¹¹ καὶ ἀπολεῖται ὁ ἀσθενῶν ἀδελφὸς ἐπὶ τῇ σῇ γνώσει δι᾽ ὃν χριστὸς ἀπέθανεν

KJV ¹² But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

MAR ¹² Or quand vous péchez ainsi contre vos frères, et que vous blessez leur conscience qui est faible, vous péchez contre Christ.

TR1550 ¹² οὕτως δὲ ἁμαρτάνοντες εἰς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς καὶ τύπτοντες αὐτῶν τὴν συνείδησιν ἀσθενοῦσαν εἰς χριστὸν ἁμαρτάνετε

KJV ¹³ Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

MAR ¹³ C'est pourquoi, si la viande scandalise mon frère, je ne mangerai jamais de chair, pour ne point scandaliser mon frère.
