KJV ¹ Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

KJV ² And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

MAR ² Et tous ceux d'Israël furent assemblés vers le Roi Salomon, au mois d'Ethanim, qui est le septième mois, le jour même de la fête.

VULC ² Convenitque ad regem Salomonem universus Israël in mense Ethanim, in solemni die : ipse est mensis septimus.

WLC ² וַיִּקָּ֨הֲל֜וּ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ כָּל־ אִ֣ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּיֶ֥רַח הָאֵֽתָנִ֖ים בֶּחָ֑ג ה֖וּא הַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃

KJV ³ And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

MAR ³ Tous les Anciens d'Israël donc vinrent ; et les Sacrificateurs portèrent l'Arche.

VULC ³ Veneruntque cuncti senes de Israël, et tulerunt arcam sacerdotes,

WLC ³ וַיָּבֹ֕אוּ כֹּ֖ל זִקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים אֶת־ הָאָרֽוֹן׃

KJV ⁴ And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

MAR ⁴ Ainsi on transporta l'Arche de l'Eternel, et le Tabernacle d'assignation, et tous les saints vaisseaux qui étaient au Tabernacle ; les Sacrificateurs, dis-je, et les Lévites les emportèrent.

VULC ⁴ et portaverunt arcam Domini, et tabernaculum fœderis, et omnia vasa sanctuarii quæ erant in tabernaculo : et ferebant ea sacerdotes et Levitæ.

WLC ⁴ וַֽיַּעֲל֞וּ אֶת־ אֲר֤וֹן יְהוָה֙ וְאֶת־ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד וְאֶֽת־ כָּל־ כְּלֵ֥י הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּאֹ֑הֶל וַיַּעֲל֣וּ אֹתָ֔ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃

KJV ⁵ And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

MAR ⁵ Or le Roi Salomon, et toute l'assemblée d'Israël qui s'était rendue auprès de lui, étaient ensemble devant l'Arche [et] ils sacrifiaient du gros et du menu bétail en si grand nombre, qu'on ne le pouvait ni nombrer ni compter.

VULC ⁵ Rex autem Salomon, et omnis multitudo Israël quæ convenerat ad eum, gradiebatur cum illo ante arcam, et immolabant oves et boves absque æstimatione et numero.

WLC ⁵ וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה וְכָל־ עֲדַ֤ת יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ הַנּוֹעָדִ֣ים עָלָ֔יו אִתּ֖וֹ לִפְנֵ֣י הָֽאָר֑וֹן מְזַבְּחִים֙ צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹֽא־ יִסָּפְר֛וּ וְלֹ֥א יִמָּנ֖וּ מֵרֹֽב׃

KJV ⁶ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

MAR ⁶ Et les Sacrificateurs portèrent l'Arche de l'Alliance de l'Eternel en son lieu, dans l'Oracle de la maison, au lieu Très-saint, sous les ailes des Chérubins.

VULC ⁶ Et intulerunt sacerdotes arcam fœderis Domini in locum suum, in oraculum templi, in Sanctum sanctorum, subter alas cherubim.

WLC ⁶ וַיָּבִ֣אוּ הַ֠כֹּהֲנִים אֶת־ אֲר֨וֹן בְּרִית־ יְהוָ֧ה אֶל־ מְקוֹמ֛וֹ אֶל־ דְּבִ֥יר הַבַּ֖יִת אֶל־ קֹ֣דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֑ים אֶל־ תַּ֖חַת כַּנְפֵ֥י הַכְּרוּבִֽים׃

KJV ⁷ For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

MAR ⁷ Car les Chérubins étendaient les ailes sur l'endroit où devait être l'Arche, et les Chérubins couvraient l'Arche et ses barres, par dessus.

WLC ⁷ כִּ֤י הַכְּרוּבִים֙ פֹּרְשִׂ֣ים כְּנָפַ֔יִם אֶל־ מְק֖וֹם הָֽאָר֑וֹן וַיָּסֹ֧כּוּ הַכְּרֻבִ֛ים עַל־ הָאָר֥וֹן וְעַל־ בַּדָּ֖יו מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃

KJV ⁸ And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

MAR ⁸ Et ils retirèrent les barres en dedans, de sorte que les bouts des barres se voyaient du lieu Saint sur le devant de l'Oracle, mais ils ne se voyaient point au dehors ; et elles sont demeurées là jusqu'à ce jour.

VULC ⁸ Cumque eminerent vectes, et apparerent summitates eorum foris sanctuarium ante oraculum, non apparebant ultra extrinsecus, qui et fuerunt ibi usque in præsentem diem.

WLC ⁸ וַֽיַּאֲרִכוּ֮ הַבַּדִּים֒ וַיֵּרָאוּ֩ רָאשֵׁ֨י הַבַּדִּ֤ים מִן־ הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ עַל־ פְּנֵ֣י הַדְּבִ֔יר וְלֹ֥א יֵרָא֖וּ הַח֑וּצָה וַיִּ֣הְיוּ שָׁ֔ם עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

KJV ⁹ There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

MAR ⁹ Il n'y avait rien dans l'Arche que les deux tables de pierre que Moïse y avait mises en Horeb, quand l'Eternel traita [alliance] avec les enfants d'Israël, lorsqu'ils furent sortis du pays d'Egypte.

VULC ⁹ In arca autem non erat aliud nisi duæ tabulæ lapideæ quas posuerat in ea Moyses in Horeb, quando pepigit Dominus fœdus cum filiis Israël, cum egrederentur de terra Ægypti.

WLC ⁹ אֵ֚ין בָּֽאָר֔וֹן רַ֗ק שְׁנֵי֙ לֻח֣וֹת הָאֲבָנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִנִּ֥חַ שָׁ֛ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּחֹרֵ֑ב אֲשֶׁ֨ר כָּרַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ עִם־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹⁰ And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

MAR ¹⁰ Or il arriva que comme les Sacrificateurs furent sortis du lieu Saint, une nuée remplit la maison de l'Eternel.

VULC ¹⁰ Factum est autem cum exissent sacerdotes de sanctuario, nebula implevit domum Domini,

WLC ¹⁰ וַיְהִ֕י בְּצֵ֥את הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים מִן־ הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ וְהֶעָנָ֥ן מָלֵ֖א אֶת־ בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹¹ So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

MAR ¹¹ De sorte que les Sacrificateurs ne se pouvaient tenir debout pour faire le service, à cause de la nuée ; car la gloire de l'Eternel avait rempli la maison de l'Eternel.

VULC ¹¹ et non poterant sacerdotes stare et ministrare propter nebulam : impleverat enim gloria Domini domum Domini.

WLC ¹¹ וְלֹֽא־ יָכְל֧וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים לַעֲמֹ֥ד לְשָׁרֵ֖ת מִפְּנֵ֥י הֶֽעָנָ֑ן כִּי־ מָלֵ֥א כְבוֹד־ יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹² Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

MAR ¹² Alors Salomon dit : L'Eternel a dit qu'il habiterait dans l'obscurité.

VULC ¹² Tunc ait Salomon : Dominus dixit ut habitaret in nebula.

KJV ¹³ I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

MAR ¹³ J'ai achevé, [ô Eternel !] de bâtir une maison pour ta demeure, un domicile fixe, afin que tu y habites éternellement.

VULC ¹³ Ædificans ædificavi domum in habitaculum tuum : firmissimum solium tuum in sempiternum.

WLC ¹³ בָּנֹ֥ה בָנִ֛יתִי בֵּ֥ית זְבֻ֖ל לָ֑ךְ מָכ֥וֹן לְשִׁבְתְּךָ֖ עוֹלָמִֽים׃

KJV ¹⁴ And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

MAR ¹⁴ Et le Roi tournant son visage, bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël ; car toute l'assemblée d'Israël se tenait [là] debout.

VULC ¹⁴ Convertitque rex faciem suam, et benedixit omni ecclesiæ Israël : omnis enim ecclesia Israël stabat.

WLC ¹⁴ וַיַּסֵּ֤ב הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶת־ פָּנָ֔יו וַיְבָ֕רֶךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־ קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְכָל־ קְהַ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עֹמֵֽד׃

KJV ¹⁵ And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

WLC ¹⁵ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר בָּר֤וּךְ יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר֙ דִּבֶּ֣ר בְּפִ֔יו אֵ֖ת דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑י וּבְיָד֥וֹ מִלֵּ֖א לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ¹⁶ Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

MAR ¹⁶ Depuis le jour que je retirai mon peuple d'Israël hors d'Egypte, je n'ai choisi aucune ville d'entre toutes les Tribus d'Israël pour y bâtir une maison, afin que mon Nom y fût ; mais j'ai choisi David, afin qu'il eût la charge de mon peuple d'Israël.

KJV ¹⁷ And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

MAR ¹⁷ Et David mon père avait au coeur de bâtir une maison au Nom de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

VULC ¹⁷ Voluitque David pater meus ædificare domum nomini Domini Dei Israël :

WLC ¹⁷ וַיְהִ֕י עִם־ לְבַ֖ב דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑י לִבְנ֣וֹת בַּ֔יִת לְשֵׁ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ¹⁸ And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

MAR ¹⁸ Mais l'Eternel dit à David mon père : Quant à ce que tu as eu au coeur de bâtir une maison à mon Nom, tu as bien fait d'avoir eu cela au coeur.

VULC ¹⁸ et ait Dominus ad David patrem meum : Quod cogitasti in corde tuo ædificare domum nomini meo, bene fecisti, hoc ipsum mente tractans.

WLC ¹⁸ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־ דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֔י יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָיָה֙ עִם־ לְבָ֣בְךָ֔ לִבְנ֥וֹת בַּ֖יִת לִשְׁמִ֑י הֱטִיבֹ֔תָ כִּ֥י הָיָ֖ה עִם־ לְבָבֶֽךָ׃

KJV ¹⁹ Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

MAR ¹⁹ Néanmoins tu ne bâtiras point cette maison, mais ton fils qui sortira de tes reins, sera celui qui bâtira cette maison à mon Nom.

KJV ²⁰ And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

MAR ²⁰ L'Eternel a donc accompli sa parole, qu'il avait prononcée, et j'ai succédé à David mon père, et je suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'Eternel en avait parlé ; et j'ai bâti cette maison au Nom de l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël.

VULC ²⁰ Confirmavit Dominus sermonem suum quem locutus est : stetique pro David patre meo, et sedi super thronum Israël, sicut locutus est Dominus : et ædificavi domum nomini Domini Dei Israël.

WLC ²⁰ וַיָּ֣קֶם יְהוָ֔ה אֶת־ דְּבָר֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֵּ֑ר וָאָקֻ֡ם תַּחַת֩ דָּוִ֨ד אָבִ֜י וָאֵשֵׁ֣ב עַל־ כִּסֵּ֣א יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וָאֶבְנֶ֣ה הַבַּ֔יִת לְשֵׁ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ²¹ And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

MAR ²¹ Et j'ai assigné ici un lieu à l'Arche, dans laquelle est l'alliance de l'Eternel, qu'il traita avec nos pères, quand il les eut tirés hors du pays d'Egypte.

VULC ²¹ Et constitui ibi locum arcæ in qua fœdus Domini est, quod percussit cum patribus nostris quando egressi sunt de terra Ægypti.

WLC ²¹ וָאָשִׂ֨ם שָׁ֤ם מָקוֹם֙ לָֽאָר֔וֹן אֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֖ם בְּרִ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר כָּרַת֙ עִם־ אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ בְּהוֹצִיא֥וֹ אֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ²² And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

MAR ²² Ensuite Salomon se tint devant l'autel de l'Eternel en la présence de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et ayant ses mains étendues vers les cieux,

VULC ²² Stetit autem Salomon ante altare Domini in conspectu ecclesiæ Israël, et expandit manus suas in cælum,

WLC ²² וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה לִפְנֵי֙ מִזְבַּ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה נֶ֖גֶד כָּל־ קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂ כַּפָּ֖יו הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

KJV ²³ And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

MAR ²³ Il dit: Ô Eternel Dieu d'Israël ! il n'y a point de Dieu semblable à toi dans les cieux en haut, ni sur la terre en bas ; tu gardes l'alliance et la gratuité envers tes serviteurs, qui marchent de tout leur coeur devant ta face.

VULC ²³ et ait : Domine Deus Israël, non est similis tui deus in cælo desuper, et super terram deorsum : qui custodis pactum et misericordiam servis tuis qui ambulant coram te in toto corde suo.

WLC ²³ וַיֹּאמַ֗ר יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֵין־ כָּמ֣וֹךָ אֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם מִמַּ֔עַל וְעַל־ הָאָ֖רֶץ מִתָּ֑חַת שֹׁמֵ֤ר הַבְּרִית֙ וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד לַעֲבָדֶ֕יךָ הַהֹלְכִ֥ים לְפָנֶ֖יךָ בְּכָל־ לִבָּֽם׃

KJV ²⁴ Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

MAR ²⁴ [Et] tu as tenu à ton serviteur David mon père ce dont tu lui avais parlé ; car ce dont tu lui avais parlé de ta bouche, tu l'as accompli de ta main, comme [il paraît] aujourd'hui.

VULC ²⁴ Qui custodisti servo tuo David patri meo quæ locutus es ei : ore locutus es, et manibus perfecisti, ut hæc dies probat.

KJV ²⁵ Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

MAR ²⁵ Maintenant donc, ô Eternel Dieu d'Israël ! tiens à ton serviteur David mon père, ce dont tu lui as parlé, en disant : Jamais il ne te sera retranché de devant ma face un [successeur] pour être assis sur le trône d'Israël, pourvu seulement que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, afin de marcher devant ma face, comme tu y as marché.

VULC ²⁵ Nunc igitur Domine Deus Israël, conserva famulo tuo David patri meo quæ locutus es ei, dicens : Non auferetur de te vir coram me, qui sedeat super thronum Israël : ita tamen si custodierint filii tui viam suam, ut ambulent coram me sicut tu ambulasti in conspectu meo.

WLC ²⁵ וְעַתָּ֞ה יְהוָ֣ה ׀ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל שְׁ֠מֹר לְעַבְדְּךָ֨ דָוִ֤ד אָבִי֙ אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבַּ֤רְתָּ לּוֹ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹא־ יִכָּרֵ֨ת לְךָ֥ אִישׁ֙ מִלְּפָנַ֔י יֹשֵׁ֖ב עַל־ כִּסֵּ֣א יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רַ֠ק אִם־ יִשְׁמְר֨וּ בָנֶ֤יךָ אֶת־ דַּרְכָּם֙ לָלֶ֣כֶת לְפָנַ֔י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָלַ֖כְתָּ לְפָנָֽי׃

KJV ²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

MAR ²⁷ Mais Dieu habiterait-il effectivement sur la terre ? Voilà, les cieux, même les cieux des cieux ne te peuvent contenir ; combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie.

VULC ²⁷ Ergone putandum est quod vere Deus habitet super terram ? si enim cælum, et cæli cælorum, te capere non possunt, quanto magis domus hæc, quam ædificavi ?

KJV ²⁸ Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

KJV ²⁹ That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

KJV ³⁰ And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

KJV ³¹ If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

KJV ³² Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

KJV ³³ When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:

KJV ³⁴ Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

KJV ³⁵ When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

KJV ³⁶ Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

KJV ³⁸ What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

KJV ⁴² (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

KJV ⁴³ Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

KJV ⁴⁴ If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

WLC ⁴⁴ כִּי־ יֵצֵ֨א עַמְּךָ֤ לַמִּלְחָמָה֙ עַל־ אֹ֣יְב֔וֹ בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּשְׁלָחֵ֑ם וְהִתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ אֶל־ יְהוָ֗ה דֶּ֤רֶךְ הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּחַ֣רְתָּ בָּ֔הּ וְהַבַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁר־ בָּנִ֥תִי לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃

KJV ⁴⁵ Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

KJV ⁴⁷ Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

WLC ⁴⁷ וְהֵשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ אֶל־ לִבָּ֔ם בָּאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִשְׁבּוּ־ שָׁ֑ם וְשָׁ֣בוּ ׀ וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ אֵלֶ֗יךָ בְּאֶ֤רֶץ שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר חָטָ֥אנוּ וְהֶעֱוִ֖ינוּ רָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃

KJV ⁴⁸ And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

MAR ⁴⁸ S'ils retournent donc à toi de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leurs ennemis, qui les auront emmenés captifs, et s'ils t'adressent leurs prières, en regardant vers leur pays que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers cette ville que tu as choisie, et vers cette maison que j'ai bâtie à ton Nom ;

VULC ⁴⁸ et reversi fuerint ad te in universo corde suo et tota anima sua in terra inimicorum suorum, ad quam captivi ducti fuerint : et oraverint te contra viam terræ suæ, quam dedisti patribus eorum, et civitatis quam elegisti, et templi quod ædificavi nomini tuo :

KJV ⁴⁹ Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

KJV ⁵⁰ And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

MAR ⁵⁰ Et pardonne à ton peuple qui aura péché contre toi, et même [pardonne-leur] tous les crimes qu'ils auront commis contre toi, et fais que ceux qui les auront emmenés captifs aient pitié d'eux, et leur fassent grâce.

KJV ⁵¹ For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

KJV ⁵² That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.

KJV ⁵³ For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

KJV ⁵⁴ And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

KJV ⁵⁵ And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

KJV ⁵⁶ Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

KJV ⁵⁷ The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

KJV ⁵⁸ That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

KJV ⁵⁹ And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

KJV ⁶⁰ That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

KJV ⁶¹ Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

KJV ⁶² And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

KJV ⁶³ And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

WLC ⁶³ וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אֵ֣ת זֶ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִים֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר זָבַ֣ח לַיהוָה֒ בָּקָ֗ר עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ אֶ֔לֶף וְצֹ֕אן מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וַֽיַּחְנְכוּ֙ אֶת־ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְכָל־ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ⁶⁴ The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

MAR ⁶⁴ En ce jour-là le Roi consacra le milieu du parvis, qui était devant la maison de l'Eternel ; car il offrit là les holocaustes, et les gâteaux, et les graisses des sacrifices de prospérités, parce que l'autel d'airain qui était devant l'Eternel, était trop petit pour contenir les holocaustes, et les gâteaux, et les graisses des sacrifices de prospérités.

VULC ⁶⁴ In die illa sanctificavit rex medium atrii quod erat ante domum Domini : fecit quippe holocaustum ibi, et sacrificium, et adipem pacificorum : quoniam altare æreum quod erat coram Domino, minus erat, et capere non poterat holocaustum, et sacrificium, et adipem pacificorum.

WLC ⁶⁴ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא קִדַּ֨שׁ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־ תּ֣וֹךְ הֶחָצֵ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֙ לִפְנֵ֣י בֵית־ יְהוָ֔ה כִּי־ עָ֣שָׂה שָׁ֗ם אֶת־ הָֽעֹלָה֙ וְאֶת־ הַמִּנְחָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת חֶלְבֵ֣י הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים כִּֽי־ מִזְבַּ֤ח הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה קָטֹ֗ן מֵֽהָכִיל֙ אֶת־ הָעֹלָ֣ה וְאֶת־ הַמִּנְחָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת חֶלְבֵ֥י הַשְּׁלָמִֽים׃

KJV ⁶⁵ And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

MAR ⁶⁵ Et en ce temps-là Salomon célébra une fête solennelle ; et avec lui tout Israël qui était une grande assemblée, [venue] depuis où l'on entre en Hamath jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte, devant l'Eternel notre Dieu, et cela dura sept jours, et sept autres jours, ce qui fut quatorze jours.

VULC ⁶⁵ Fecit ergo Salomon in tempore illo festivitatem celebrem, et omnis Israël cum eo, multitudo magna ab introitu Emath usque ad rivum Ægypti, coram Domino Deo nostro, septem diebus et septem diebus, id est, quatuordecim diebus.

WLC ⁶⁵ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בָֽעֵת־ הַהִ֣יא ׀ אֶת־ הֶחָ֡ג וְכָל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל עִמּוֹ֩ קָהָ֨ל גָּד֜וֹל מִלְּב֥וֹא חֲמָ֣ת ׀ עַד־ נַ֣חַל מִצְרַ֗יִם לִפְנֵי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים וְשִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים אַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר יֽוֹם׃

KJV ⁶⁶ On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

MAR ⁶⁶ [Et] au huitième jour il renvoya le peuple, qui bénit le Roi ; puis ils s'en allèrent dans leurs tentes, en se réjouissant, et ayant le coeur plein de joie à cause de tout le bien que l'Eternel avait fait à David son serviteur, et à Israël son peuple.

VULC ⁶⁶ Et in die octava dimisit populos : qui benedicentes regi, profecti sunt in tabernacula sua lætantes, et alacri corde super omnibus bonis quæ fecerat Dominus David servo suo, et Israël populo suo.
