BAN ¹ Et le jeune Samuel servait l'Eternel en la présence d'Eli, et la parole de l'Eternel était rare en ces jours-là et les visions n'étaient point fréquentes.

KJV ¹ And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

BAN ² Et ce jour-là, Eli était couché à sa place ; or ses yeux avaient commencé à se troubler, de sorte qu'il ne pouvait voir ;

KJV ² And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;

BAN ³ la lampe de Dieu ne s'était pas encore éteinte et Samuel était couché dans le temple de l'Eternel, dans lequel était l'arche de Dieu.

KJV ³ And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

BAN ⁴ L'Eternel appela Samuel ; et il dit : Me voici.

KJV ⁴ That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

BAN ⁵ Et il courut vers Eli et lui dit : Me voici, car tu m'as appelé. Et Eli dit : Je n'ai pas appelé ; recouche-toi. Et il alla se coucher.

KJV ⁵ And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

BAN ⁶ Et l'Eternel appela encore : Samuel ! Et Samuel se leva et alla vers Eli et dit : Me voici, car tu m'as appelé. Et Eli dit : Je n'ai point appelé, mon fils, recouche-toi.

KJV ⁶ And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

BAN ⁷ Et Samuel ne connaissait pas encore l'Eternel et la parole de l'Eternel ne lui avait pas encore été révélée.

KJV ⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

BAN ⁸ Et l'Eternel appela encore Samuel pour la troisième fois ; et il se leva et alla vers Eli et dit : Me voici, car tu m'as appelé. Et Eli comprit que l'Eternel appelait le jeune garçon.

KJV ⁸ And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.

BAN ⁹ Et Eli dit à Samuel : Va, couche-toi, et si l'on t'appelle, tu diras : Parle, Eternel, car ton serviteur écoute. Et Samuel s'en alla et se coucha à sa place.

KJV ⁹ Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

BAN ¹⁰ Et l'Eternel vint et se tint là, et il appela comme les autres fois : Samuel, Samuel ! Et Samuel dit : Parle, car ton serviteur écoute.

KJV ¹⁰ And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

BAN ¹¹ Et l'Eternel dit à Samuel : Voici, je vais faire une chose en Israël que personne n'entendra sans que les deux oreilles lui tintent.

KJV ¹¹ And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

BAN ¹² En ce jour-là j'exécuterai sur Eli tout ce que j'ai dit touchant sa maison ; je commencerai et achèverai.

KJV ¹² In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

BAN ¹³ Je lui ai déclaré que j'allais juger sa maison pour jamais à cause de l'iniquité qu'il a connue ; c'est que ses fils se sont rendus indignes et il ne les a point réprimés.

KJV ¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

BAN ¹⁴ C'est pourquoi j'ai juré touchant la maison d'Eli que jamais l'iniquité de la maison d'Eli ne sera expiée par quelque sacrifice ou par quelque oblation.

KJV ¹⁴ And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

BAN ¹⁵ Et Samuel demeura couché jusqu'au matin, et il ouvrit les portes de la maison de l'Eternel. Or Samuel craignait de parler de cette vision à Eli.

KJV ¹⁵ And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.

BAN ¹⁶ Et Eli appela Samuel et lui dit : Samuel, mon fils ! Et il dit : Me voici !

KJV ¹⁶ Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

BAN ¹⁷ Et Eli dit : Qu'est-ce qu'il t'a dit ? Ne me cache rien, je te prie ! Que Dieu te fasse ainsi et qu'ainsi il y ajoute, si tu me caches un seul mot de tout ce qui a été dit.

KJV ¹⁷ And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

BAN ¹⁸ Et Samuel lui déclara toutes ces paroles et il ne lui cacha rien. Et Eli répondit : C'est l'Eternel ! Qu'il fasse ce qui lui paraîtra bon !

KJV ¹⁸ And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.

BAN ¹⁹ Et Samuel devint grand, et l'Eternel était avec lui et il ne laissa tomber à terre aucune de ses paroles.

KJV ¹⁹ And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

BAN ²⁰ Et tout Israël, depuis Dan jusqu'à Béerséba, reconnut que Samuel était vraiment prophète de l'Eternel.

KJV ²⁰ And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

BAN ²¹ Et l'Eternel continua d'apparaître à Silo, car l'Eternel se manifestait à Samuel à Silo par la parole de l'Eternel.

KJV ²¹ And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
