BCC ² Au bout de quelques années, il descendit auprès d'Achab, à Samarie, et Achab tua pour lui et pour le peuple qui était avec lui des brebis et des boeufs en grand nombre, et il l'engagea à monter à Ramoth-en-Galaad.

KJV ² And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.

BCC ³ Achab, roi d'Israël, dit à Josaphat, roi de Juda : "viendras-tu avec moi à Ramoth-en-Galaad ?" Josaphat lui répondit : "Il en sera de moi comme de toi, de mon peuple comme de ton peuple ; nous irons l'attaquer avec toi."

KJV ³ And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

BCC ⁴ Josaphat dit au roi d'Israël : "Consulte maintenant, je le prie, la parole de Yahweh."

KJV ⁴ And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

BCC ⁵ Le roi d'Israël convoqua les prophètes, au nombre de quatre cents, et leur dit : "irons-nous attaquer Ramoth-en Galaad, ou m'en abstiendrai-je ?" Ils répondirent : "monte, et Dieu la livrera entre les mains du roi."

KJV ⁵ Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.

BCC ⁶ Mais Josaphat dit : "N'y a-t-il plus ici aucun prophète de Yahweh, par qui nous puissions l'interroger ?"

KJV ⁶ But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?

WLC ⁶ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט הַאֵ֨ין פֹּ֥ה נָבִ֛יא לַיהוָ֖ה ע֑וֹד וְנִדְרְשָׁ֖ה מֵאֹתֽוֹ׃

BCC ⁷ Le roi d'Israël répondit à Josaphat : "il y a encore un homme par qui l'on pourrait consulter Yahweh ; mais je le hais, car il ne prophétise sur moi rien de bon, mais toujours du mal : c'est Michée, fils de Jemia." Et Josaphat dit : " que le roi ne parle plus ainsi !"

KJV ⁷ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

BCC ⁹ Le roi d'Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, étaient assis chacun sur son trône, revêtus de leurs habits royaux ; ils étaient assis dans la place, à l'entrée de la porte de Samarie ; et tous les prophètes prophétisaient devant eux.

KJV ⁹ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

BCC ¹⁰ Sédécias, fils de Chanaana, s'était fait des cornes de fer, et il dit : "ainsi dit Yahweh : avec ces cornes tu frapperas les Syriens jusqu'à les exterminer."

KJV ¹⁰ And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.

BCC ¹² Le messager qui était allé appeler Michée lui parla en ces termes : "voici que les paroles des prophètes sont unanimes pour annoncer du bien au roi ; que ta parole soit donc conforme à celle de chacun d'eux : annonce du bien !" Michée répondit :

KJV ¹² And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of their's, and speak thou good.

BCC ¹³ "Yahweh est vivant ! Ce que mon Dieu dira, je l'annoncerai !"

KJV ¹³ And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

WLC ¹³ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מִיכָ֑יְהוּ חַי־ יְהוָ֕ה כִּ֛י אֶת־ אֲשֶׁר־ יֹאמַ֥ר אֱלֹהַ֖י אֹת֥וֹ אֲדַבֵּֽר׃

BCC ¹⁴ Lorsqu'il fut arrivé près du roi, le roi lui dit : "Michée, irons-nous attaquer Ramoth-en-Galaad, ne m'en abstiendrai-je ?" Il répondit : "montez, et soyez vainqueurs ! car ils sont livrés entre vos mains."

KJV ¹⁴ And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

KJV ¹⁵ And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?

BCC ¹⁶ Michée répondit : "je vois tout Israël dispersé sur les montagnes, comme les brebis qui m'ont pas de berger ; et Yahweh dit : Ces gens n'ont pas de maître : qu'ils retournent en paix, chacun dans sa maison."

KJV ¹⁶ Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.

KJV ¹⁷ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?

BCC ¹⁸ Michée dit : "écoutez donc la parole de Yahweh ! J'ai vu Yahweh assis sur son trône et toute l'armée du ciel se tenait à sa droite et à sa gauche.

KJV ¹⁸ Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

KJV ¹⁹ And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

BCC ²⁰ Alors l'esprit vint se tenir devant Yahweh et dit : moi, je le tromperai.

KJV ²⁰ Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?

WLC ²⁰ וַיֵּצֵ֣א הָר֗וּחַ וַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֲנִ֣י אֲפַתֶּ֑נּוּ וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהוָ֛ה אֵלָ֖יו בַּמָּֽה׃

BCC ²¹ Yahweh lui dit : comment ? Il répondit : je sortirai et je serai un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous ses prophètes. Yahweh lui dit : tu le tromperas, et tu en viendras à bout ; sors et fais ainsi !

KJV ²¹ And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

BCC ²² Voici donc que Yahweh a mis un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tes prophètes qui sont là. Et Yahweh a prononcé du mal sur toi."

KJV ²² Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.

WLC ²² וְעַתָּ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה נָתַ֤ן יְהוָה֙ ר֣וּחַ שֶׁ֔קֶר בְּפִ֖י נְבִיאֶ֣יךָ אֵ֑לֶּה וַֽיהוָ֔ה דִּבֶּ֥ר עָלֶ֖יךָ רָעָֽה׃

BCC ²³ Mais Sédécias, fils de Chanaana, s'étant approché, frappa Michée sur la joue, et dit : "Par quel chemin l'esprit de Yahweh est-il sorti de moi pour te parler ?"

KJV ²³ Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

WLC ²³ וַיִּגַּשׁ֙ צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ בֶֽן־ כְּנַעֲנָ֔ה וַיַּ֥ךְ אֶת־ מִיכָ֖יְהוּ עַל־ הַלֶּ֑חִי וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אֵ֣י זֶ֤ה הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ עָבַ֧ר רֽוּחַ־ יְהוָ֛ה מֵאִתִּ֖י לְדַבֵּ֥ר אֹתָֽךְ׃

BCC ²⁴ Michée répondit : "Voici que tu le verras en ce jour-là où tu iras de chambre en chambre pour te cacher."

KJV ²⁴ And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

WLC ²⁴ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מִיכָ֔יְהוּ הִנְּךָ֥ רֹאֶ֖ה בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא אֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּב֛וֹא חֶ֥דֶר בְּחֶ֖דֶר לְהֵחָבֵֽא׃

BCC ²⁵ Le roi d'Israël dit : "Prenez Michée, et amenez-le à Amon, gouverneur de la ville, et à Joas, fils du roi.

KJV ²⁵ Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

WLC ²⁵ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל קְחוּ֙ אֶת־ מִיכָ֔יְהוּ וַהֲשִׁיבֻ֖הוּ אֶל־ אָמ֣וֹן שַׂר־ הָעִ֑יר וְאֶל־ יוֹאָ֖שׁ בֶּן־ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

BCC ²⁶ Vous leur direz : Ainsi dit le roi : Mettez cet homme en prison et nourrissez-le du pain d'affliction et de l'eau d'affliction,

KJV ²⁶ And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.

WLC ²⁶ וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ שִׂ֥ימוּ זֶ֖ה בֵּ֣ית הַכֶּ֑לֶא וְהַאֲכִלֻ֜הוּ לֶ֤חֶם לַ֙חַץ֙ וּמַ֣יִם לַ֔חַץ עַ֖ד שׁוּבִ֥י בְשָׁלֽוֹם׃

BCC ²⁷ jusqu'à ce que je revienne en paix." Et Michée dit : "Si vraiment tu reviens en paix, Yahweh n'a point parlé par moi." Il ajouta : "entendez, vous tous, peuples !"

KJV ²⁷ And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.

KJV ²⁸ So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.

BCC ²⁹ Le roi d'Israël dit à Josaphat : "je veux me déguiser pour aller au combat ; mais toi, revêts-toi de tes habits." Et le roi d'Israël se déguisa, et ils allèrent au combat.

KJV ²⁹ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and I will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.

BCC ³⁰ Le roi de Syrie avait donné un ordre aux chefs de ses chars, en ces termes : "Vous n'attaquerez ni petit ni grand, mais seulement le roi d'Israël."

KJV ³⁰ Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.

WLC ³⁰ וּמֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֡ם צִוָּה֩ אֶת־ שָׂרֵ֨י הָרֶ֤כֶב אֲשֶׁר־ לוֹ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֚א תִּלָּ֣חֲמ֔וּ אֶת־ הַקָּטֹ֖ן אֶת־ הַגָּד֑וֹל כִּ֛י אִֽם־ אֶת־ מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְבַדּֽוֹ׃

BCC ³¹ Quand les chefs des chars virent Josaphat, ils dirent : "C'est le roi d'Israël ; et ils l'entourèrent pour l'attaquer. Josaphat poussa un cri et Yahweh le secourut, et Dieu attira d'auprès de lui les Syriens.

KJV ³¹ And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

BCC ³² Quand les chefs des chars virent que ce n'était pas le roi d'Israël, ils se détournèrent de lui.

KJV ³² For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.

WLC ³² וַיְהִ֗י כִּרְאוֹת֙ שָׂרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב כִּ֥י לֹא־ הָיָ֖ה מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ מֵאַחֲרָֽיו׃

BCC ³³ Alors un homme tira de son arc au hasard et atteignit le roi d'Israël entre les jointures et la cuirasse. Le roi dit à celui qui conduisait le char "Tourne, et fais-moi sortir du camp, car je suis blessé."

KJV ³³ And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

WLC ³³ וְאִ֗ישׁ מָשַׁ֤ךְ בַּקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ לְתֻמּ֔וֹ וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בֵּ֥ין הַדְּבָקִ֖ים וּבֵ֣ין הַשִּׁרְיָ֑ן וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָֽרַכָּ֗ב הֲפֹ֧ךְ וְהוֹצֵאתַ֥נִי מִן־ הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה כִּ֥י הָחֳלֵֽיתִי׃

BCC ³⁴ Le combat devient violent ce jour-là. Le roi d'Israël était tenu debout sur son char en face des Syriens, jusqu'au soir, où il mourut vers le coucher du soleil.

KJV ³⁴ And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
