KJV ¹ Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.

S21 ¹ Josaphat eut des richesses et de la gloire en abondance, et il s'allia par mariage avec Achab.

KJV ² And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.

S21 ² Au bout de quelques années, il descendit trouver Achab à Samarie. Ce dernier tua pour lui et pour la troupe qui l'accompagnait un grand nombre de brebis et de bœufs, et il le poussa à monter à Ramoth en Galaad.

KJV ³ And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

S21 ³ Achab, roi d'Israël, dit à Josaphat, roi de Juda: «Veux-tu venir avec moi à Ramoth en Galaad?» Josaphat lui répondit: «Toi et moi, ton peuple et le mien, il n'y aura aucune différence et nous irons l'attaquer avec toi.»

KJV ⁴ And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

S21 ⁴ Puis Josaphat dit au roi d'Israël: «Consulte donc maintenant la parole de l'Eternel.»

KJV ⁵ Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.

S21 ⁵ Le roi d'Israël rassembla les prophètes, au nombre de 400, et leur demanda: «Devons-nous aller attaquer Ramoth en Galaad ou dois-je y renoncer?» Ils répondirent: «Montes-y et Dieu la livrera entre les mains du roi.»

KJV ⁶ But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?

S21 ⁶ Mais Josaphat dit: «N'y a-t-il plus ici aucun prophète de l'Eternel, pour que nous puissions le consulter?»

KJV ⁷ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

S21 ⁷ Le roi d'Israël répondit à Josaphat: «Il reste un seul homme par qui l'on puisse consulter l'Eternel; mais je le déteste, car il ne prophétise rien de bon sur moi, il ne prophétise toujours que du mal: c'est Michée, fils de Jimla.» Josaphat répliqua: «Que le roi ne parle pas de cette manière!»

KJV ⁸ And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.

S21 ⁸ Alors le roi d'Israël appela un eunuque et lui dit: «Fais venir tout de suite Michée, fils de Jimla.»

KJV ⁹ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

S21 ⁹ Le roi d'Israël et Josaphat, le roi de Juda, étaient assis chacun sur son trône, habillés de leur tenue royale; ils siégeaient sur la place qui se trouve à l'entrée de Samarie et tous les prophètes prophétisaient devant eux.

KJV ¹⁰ And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.

S21 ¹⁰ Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s'était fabriqué des cornes en fer et il affirma: «Voici ce que dit l'Eternel: Avec ces cornes, tu frapperas les Syriens jusqu'à leur destruction.»

KJV ¹¹ And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

S21 ¹¹ Tous les prophètes renchérissaient: «Monte à Ramoth en Galaad! Tu connaîtras le succès et l'Eternel la livrera entre les mains du roi.»

KJV ¹² And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of their's, and speak thou good.

S21 ¹² Le messager qui était allé appeler Michée lui dit: «Les prophètes sont unanimes pour prédire du bien au roi. Que ta parole soit donc pareille à celle de chacun d'eux! Annonce du bien!»

KJV ¹³ And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

S21 ¹³ Michée répondit: «L'Eternel est vivant! Je communiquerai ce que mon Dieu dira.»

KJV ¹⁴ And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

S21 ¹⁴ Lorsqu'il fut arrivé vers le roi, celui-ci lui dit: «Michée, devons-nous aller attaquer Ramoth en Galaad ou dois-je y renoncer?» Il répondit: «Montez-y! Vous connaîtrez le succès et ils seront livrés entre vos mains.»

KJV ¹⁵ And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?

S21 ¹⁵ Le roi lui dit: «Combien de fois me faudra-t-il te faire jurer de ne me dire que la vérité au nom de l'Eternel?»

KJV ¹⁶ Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.

S21 ¹⁶ Michée répondit: «Je vois tout Israël dispersé sur les montagnes, *comme des brebis qui n'ont pas de berger. Et l'Eternel a dit: ‘Ils n'ont pas de seigneur. Que chacun retourne en paix chez lui!'»

KJV ¹⁷ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?

S21 ¹⁷ Le roi d'Israël dit à Josaphat: «Ne te l'avais-je pas dit? Il ne prophétise rien de bon sur moi, il ne prophétise que du mal.»

KJV ¹⁸ Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

S21 ¹⁸ Michée ajouta: «Eh bien, écoutez donc la parole de l'Eternel! J'ai vu l'Eternel assis sur son trône, et tous les corps célestes debout à sa droite et à sa gauche.

KJV ¹⁹ And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

S21 ¹⁹ L'Eternel a dit: ‘Qui va persuader Achab, roi d'Israël, de monter à Ramoth en Galaad afin qu'il y meure?' Ils ont répondu l'un d'une manière, l'autre d'une autre.

KJV ²⁰ Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?

S21 ²⁰ Mais un esprit est venu se présenter devant l'Eternel et a dit: ‘Moi, je vais le persuader.'

KJV ²¹ And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

S21 ²¹ L'Eternel lui a dit: ‘Comment?' ‘Je vais sortir, a-t-il répondu, et je vais être un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous ses prophètes.' L'Eternel a dit: ‘Tu le persuaderas, tu vas y parvenir. Sors et agis de cette manière!'

KJV ²² Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.

S21 ²² Maintenant, l'Eternel a mis un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tes prophètes que voici, mais lui, il a prononcé le malheur contre toi.»

KJV ²³ Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

S21 ²³ Alors Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s'approcha, frappa Michée sur la joue et dit: «Par quel chemin l'esprit de l'Eternel est-il sorti de moi pour te parler?»

KJV ²⁴ And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

S21 ²⁴ Michée répondit: «Tu le verras le jour où tu iras de chambre en chambre pour te cacher.»

KJV ²⁵ Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

S21 ²⁵ Le roi d'Israël dit: «Arrêtez Michée et amenez-le à Amon, le chef de la ville, et à mon fils Joas.

KJV ²⁶ And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.

S21 ²⁶ Vous leur ordonnerez: ‘Voici ce que dit le roi: Mettez cet homme en prison et nourrissez-le du pain et de l'eau de misère jusqu'à ce que je revienne en paix.'»

KJV ²⁷ And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.

S21 ²⁷ Michée dit: «Si tu reviens en paix, c'est que l'Eternel n'a pas parlé par moi.» Il ajouta: «Ecoutez, vous, tous les peuples!»

KJV ²⁸ So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.

S21 ²⁸ Le roi d'Israël et Josaphat, le roi de Juda, montèrent à Ramoth en Galaad.

KJV ²⁹ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and I will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.

S21 ²⁹ Le roi d'Israël dit à Josaphat: «Je vais me déguiser pour aller au combat; mais toi, mets tes habits.» Le roi d'Israël se déguisa donc, puis ils partirent au combat.

KJV ³⁰ Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.

S21 ³⁰ Le roi de Syrie avait donné cet ordre aux chefs de ses chars: «Vous n'attaquerez ni soldats ni officiers, mais seulement le roi d'Israël.»

KJV ³¹ And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

S21 ³¹ Quand les chefs des chars aperçurent Josaphat, ils se dirent: «C'est le roi d'Israël», et ils l'encerclèrent pour l'attaquer. Josaphat poussa alors un cri et l'Eternel vint à son aide, Dieu les écarta de lui.

KJV ³² For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.

S21 ³² Voyant que ce n'était pas le roi d'Israël, les chefs des chars s'éloignèrent de lui.

KJV ³³ And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

S21 ³³ Alors un homme tira au hasard avec son arc et il frappa le roi d'Israël entre les deux parties de la cuirasse. Le roi dit à celui qui conduisait son char: «Fais demi-tour et fais-moi sortir du champ de bataille, car je suis blessé.»

KJV ³⁴ And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.

S21 ³⁴ Le combat fut si violent, ce jour-là, que le roi d'Israël fut retenu jusqu'au soir dans son char face aux Syriens, et il mourut vers le coucher du soleil.
