KJV ² Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

S21 ² Alors Salomon rassembla à Jérusalem les anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des tribus, les chefs de famille des Israélites, pour déplacer l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel depuis la ville de David, c'est-à-dire Sion.

WLC ² אָז֩ יַקְהֵ֨יל שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אֶת־ זִקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְאֶת־ כָּל־ רָאשֵׁ֨י הַמַּטּ֜וֹת נְשִׂיאֵ֧י הָאָב֛וֹת לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם לְֽהַעֲל֞וֹת אֶת־ אֲר֧וֹן בְּרִית־ יְהוָ֛ה מֵעִ֥יר דָּוִ֖יד הִ֥יא צִיּֽוֹן׃

KJV ³ Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.

S21 ³ Tous les hommes d'Israël se réunirent auprès du roi pour la fête des tentes, qui se célèbre le septième mois.

WLC ³ וַיִּקָּהֲל֧וּ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ כָּל־ אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֶּחָ֑ג ה֖וּא הַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃

KJV ⁴ And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.

S21 ⁴ Lorsque tous les anciens d'Israël furent arrivés, les Lévites portèrent l'arche.

WLC ⁴ וַיָּבֹ֕אוּ כֹּ֖ל זִקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ הַלְוִיִּ֖ם אֶת־ הָאָרֽוֹן׃

KJV ⁵ And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

S21 ⁵ Ils transportèrent l'arche, la tente de la rencontre ainsi que tous les ustensiles sacrés qui étaient dans la tente. Ce furent les prêtres et les Lévites qui les transportèrent.

WLC ⁵ וַיַּעֲל֤וּ אֶת־ הָאָרוֹן֙ וְאֶת־ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד וְאֶת־ כָּל־ כְּלֵ֥י הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּאֹ֑הֶל הֶעֱל֣וּ אֹתָ֔ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים הַלְוִיִּֽם׃

KJV ⁶ Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

S21 ⁶ Le roi Salomon et toute l'assemblée d'Israël convoquée auprès de lui se tinrent devant l'arche. Ils sacrifièrent des brebis et des bœufs, en si grand nombre qu'ils ne purent être ni comptés ni recensés.

WLC ⁶ וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה וְכָל־ עֲדַ֧ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הַנּוֹעָדִ֥ים עָלָ֖יו לִפְנֵ֣י הָאָר֑וֹן מְזַבְּחִים֙ צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹֽא־ יִסָּפְר֛וּ וְלֹ֥א יִמָּנ֖וּ מֵרֹֽב׃

KJV ⁷ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:

S21 ⁷ Les prêtres amenèrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel à sa place, dans le sanctuaire du temple, dans le lieu très saint, sous les ailes des chérubins.

WLC ⁷ וַיָּבִ֣יאוּ הַ֠כֹּהֲנִים אֶת־ אֲר֨וֹן בְּרִית־ יְהוָ֧ה אֶל־ מְקוֹמ֛וֹ אֶל־ דְּבִ֥יר הַבַּ֖יִת אֶל־ קֹ֣דֶשׁ הַקְּדָשִׁ֑ים אֶל־ תַּ֖חַת כַּנְפֵ֥י הַכְּרוּבִֽים׃

KJV ⁸ For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

S21 ⁸ Les chérubins avaient les ailes étendues sur l'emplacement occupé par l'arche et ils couvraient le coffre et ses barres.

WLC ⁸ וַיִּהְי֤וּ הַכְּרוּבִים֙ פֹּרְשִׂ֣ים כְּנָפַ֔יִם עַל־ מְק֖וֹם הָאָר֑וֹן וַיְכַסּ֧וּ הַכְּרוּבִ֛ים עַל־ הָאָר֥וֹן וְעַל־ בַּדָּ֖יו מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃

KJV ⁹ And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.

S21 ⁹ On avait donné aux barres une longueur telle que leurs extrémités se voyaient à une certaine distance de l'arche, devant le sanctuaire, mais pas de l'extérieur. Telle a été la place de l'arche jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

WLC ⁹ וַֽיַּאֲרִיכוּ֮ הַבַּדִּים֒ וַיֵּרָאוּ֩ רָאשֵׁ֨י הַבַּדִּ֤ים מִן־ הָאָרוֹן֙ עַל־ פְּנֵ֣י הַדְּבִ֔יר וְלֹ֥א יֵרָא֖וּ הַח֑וּצָה וַֽיְהִי־ שָׁ֔ם עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

KJV ¹⁰ There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

S21 ¹⁰ Il n'y avait dans l'arche que les deux tables que Moïse y avait déposées à Horeb, lorsque l'Eternel avait fait alliance avec les Israélites, à leur sortie d'Egypte.

WLC ¹⁰ אֵ֚ין בָּֽאָר֔וֹן רַ֚ק שְׁנֵ֣י הַלֻּח֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥ן מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּחֹרֵ֑ב אֲשֶׁ֨ר כָּרַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ עִם־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃
