BAN ² Et Achazia tomba par le treillis de sa chambre haute à Samarie, et il fut malade et il envoya des messagers en leur disant : Allez, consultez Baal-Zébub, dieu d'Ekron, pour savoir si je relèverai de cette maladie.

KJV ² And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

BAN ³ Et l'ange de l'Eternel dit à Elie, le Thisbite : Lève toi, monte à la rencontre des messagers du roi de Samarie et dis-leur : Est-ce faute d'un Dieu en Israël que vous allez consulter Baal-Zébub, dieu d'Ekron ?

KJV ³ But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?

BAN ⁴ C'est pourquoi, ainsi a dit l'Eternel : Tu ne descendras pas du lit sur lequel tu es monté, car tu mourras certainement. Et Elie alla.

KJV ⁴ Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.

BAN ⁵ Et les messagers revinrent vers le roi, et il leur dit : Pourquoi donc revenez-vous ?

KJV ⁵ And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why are ye now turned back?

BAN ⁶ Et il lui dirent : Un homme est monté à notre rencontre et il nous a dit : Allez, retournez vers le roi qui vous a envoyés, et vous lui direz : Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : Est-ce faute d'un Dieu en Israël que tu envoies consulter Baal-Zébub, dieu d'Ekron ? C'est pourquoi tu ne descendras point du lit sur lequel tu es monté, car tu mourras certainement.

KJV ⁶ And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

BAN ⁷ Et le roi leur dit : Comment était l'homme qui est monté à votre rencontre et qui vous a dit ces paroles ?

KJV ⁷ And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?

BAN ⁸ Et ils lui dirent : C'est un homme vêtu de poil avec une ceinture de cuir autour des reins. Et le roi dit : C'est Elie, le Thisbite.

KJV ⁸ And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

BAN ⁹ Et il envoya vers lui un chef de cinquante hommes avec ses cinquante hommes, qui monta vers Elie, et voici il se tenait sur le sommet de la montagne. Et il lui dit : Homme de Dieu, le roi a dit : Descends.

KJV ⁹ Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

BAN ¹⁰ Et Elie répondit et dit au chef des cinquante hommes : Si je suis un homme de Dieu, que le feu descende du ciel et te dévore, toi et tes cinquante hommes ! Et le feu descendit du ciel et le dévora, lui et ses cinquante hommes.

KJV ¹⁰ And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

BAN ¹¹ Et Achazia envoya de nouveau contre lui un autre chef de cinquante hommes avec ses cinquante hommes ! qui monta et dit à Elie : Homme de Dieu, ainsi a dit le roi : Descends vite !

KJV ¹¹ Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

BAN ¹² Et Elie répondit et leur dit : Si je suis un homme de Dieu, que le feu descende du ciel et te dévore, toi et tes cinquante hommes ! Et le feu descendit du ciel et le dévora, lui et ses cinquante hommes.

KJV ¹² And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

BAN ¹³ Et de nouveau Achazia envoya un troisième chef de cinquante hommes avec ses cinquante hommes ; et le troisième chef de cinquante hommes monta et vint vers Elie ; et il se mit à genoux devant Elie, et il le supplia et lui dit : Homme de Dieu, je te prie, que ma vie et la vie de tes serviteurs, ces cinquante hommes, soit précieuse à tes yeux !

KJV ¹³ And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.

BAN ¹⁴ Voici, le feu est descendu du ciel et a dévoré les deux premiers chefs de cinquante hommes et leurs cinquante hommes... ; et maintenant, que ma vie soit précieuse à tes yeux !

KJV ¹⁴ Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.

BAN ¹⁵ Et l'ange de l'Eternel dit à Elie : Descends avec lui ; n'aie pas de crainte de lui. Et il se leva et descendit avec lui vers le roi.

KJV ¹⁵ And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.

BAN ¹⁶ Et il lui dit : Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : Parce que tu as envoyé des messagers consulter Baal-Zébub, dieu d'Ekron, est-ce faute d'un Dieu à consulter en Israël ? à cause de cela tu ne descendras point du lit sur lequel tu es monté, car tu mourras certainement.

KJV ¹⁶ And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

BAN ¹⁷ Et il mourut, selon la parole de l'Eternel qu'Elie avait prononcée ; et Joram régna à sa place, la seconde année de Joram, fils de Josaphat, roi de Juda ; car Achazia n'avait point de fils.

KJV ¹⁷ So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

BAN ¹⁸ Le reste de l'histoire de ce qu'a fait Achazia, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Annales des rois d'Israël ?

KJV ¹⁸ Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
