KJV ¹ And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.

KJV ² Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.

NEG ² Allons jusqu'au Jourdain; nous prendrons là chacun une poutre, et nous nous y ferons un lieu d'habitation. Elisée répondit: Allez.

VULC ² Eamus usque ad Jordanem, et tollant singuli de silva materias singulas, ut ædificemus nobis ibi locum ad habitandum. Qui dixit : Ite.

WLC ² נֵֽלְכָה־ נָּ֣א עַד־ הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן וְנִקְחָ֤ה מִשָּׁם֙ אִ֚ישׁ קוֹרָ֣ה אֶחָ֔ת וְנַעֲשֶׂה־ לָּ֥נוּ שָׁ֛ם מָק֖וֹם לָשֶׁ֣בֶת שָׁ֑ם וַיֹּ֖אמֶר לֵֽכוּ׃

KJV ³ And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

NEG ³ Et l'un d'eux dit: Consens à venir avec tes serviteurs. Il répondit: J'irai.

VULC ³ Et ait unus ex illis : Veni ergo et tu cum servis tuis. Respondit : Ego veniam.

WLC ³ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הָֽאֶחָ֔ד ה֥וֹאֶל נָ֖א וְלֵ֣ךְ אֶת־ עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֲנִ֥י אֵלֵֽךְ׃

KJV ⁴ So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.

NEG ⁴ Il partit donc avec eux. Arrivés au Jourdain, ils coupèrent du bois.

VULC ⁴ Et abiit cum eis. Cumque venissent ad Jordanem, cædebant ligna.

WLC ⁴ וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ אִתָּ֑ם וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ הַיַּרְדֵּ֔נָה וַֽיִּגְזְר֖וּ הָעֵצִֽים׃

KJV ⁵ But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

NEG ⁵ Et comme l'un d'eux abattait une poutre, le fer tomba dans l'eau. Il s'écria: Ah! mon seigneur, il était emprunté!

VULC ⁵ Accidit autem ut cum unus materiam succidisset, caderet ferrum securis in aquam : exclamavitque ille, et ait : Heu ! heu ! heu ! domine mi : et hoc ipsum mutuo acceperam.

WLC ⁵ וַיְהִ֤י הָֽאֶחָד֙ מַפִּ֣יל הַקּוֹרָ֔ה וְאֶת־ הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל נָפַ֣ל אֶל־ הַמָּ֑יִם וַיִּצְעַ֥ק וַיֹּ֛אמֶר אֲהָ֥הּ אֲדֹנִ֖י וְה֥וּא שָׁאֽוּל׃

KJV ⁶ And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.

NEG ⁶ L'homme de Dieu dit: Où est-il tombé? Et il lui montra la place. Alors Elisée coupa un morceau de bois, le jeta à la même place, et fit surnager le fer.

VULC ⁶ Dixit autem homo Dei : Ubi cecidit ? At ille monstravit ei locum. Præcidit ergo lignum, et misit illuc : natavitque ferrum,

WLC ⁶ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אִישׁ־ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים אָ֣נָה נָפָ֑ל וַיַּרְאֵ֙הוּ֙ אֶת־ הַמָּק֔וֹם וַיִּקְצָב־ עֵץ֙ וַיַּשְׁלֶךְ־ שָׁ֔מָּה וַיָּ֖צֶף הַבַּרְזֶֽל׃

KJV ⁷ Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

NEG ⁷ Puis il dit: Enlève-le! Et il avança la main, et le prit.

VULC ⁷ et ait : Tolle. Qui extendit manum, et tulit illud.

WLC ⁷ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הָ֣רֶם לָ֑ךְ וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח יָד֖וֹ וַיִּקָּחֵֽהוּ׃

KJV ⁸ Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

NEG ⁸ Le roi de Syrie était en guerre avec Israël, et, dans un conseil qu'il tint avec ses serviteurs, il dit: Mon camp sera dans un tel lieu.

VULC ⁸ Rex autem Syriæ pugnabat contra Israël, consiliumque iniit cum servis suis, dicens : In loco illo et illo ponamus insidias.

KJV ⁹ And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

NEG ⁹ Mais l'homme de Dieu fit dire au roi d'Israël: Garde-toi de passer dans ce lieu, car les Syriens y descendent.

VULC ⁹ Misit itaque vir Dei ad regem Israël, dicens : Cave ne transeas in locum illum : quia ibi Syri in insidiis sunt.

WLC ⁹ וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים אֶל־ מֶ֤לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הִשָּׁ֕מֶר מֵעֲבֹ֖ר הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה כִּֽי־ שָׁ֖ם אֲרָ֥ם נְחִתִּֽים׃

KJV ¹⁰ And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

NEG ¹⁰ Et le roi d'Israël envoya des gens, pour s'y tenir en observation, vers le lieu que lui avait mentionné et signalé l'homme de Dieu. Cela arriva non pas une fois ni deux fois.

VULC ¹⁰ Misit itaque rex Israël ad locum quem dixerat ei vir Dei, et præoccupavit eum, et observavit se ibi non semel neque bis.

WLC ¹⁰ וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶֽל־ הַמָּק֞וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָֽמַר־ ל֧וֹ אִישׁ־ הָאֱלֹהִ֛ים וְנִשְׁמַ֣ר שָׁ֑ם לֹ֥א אַחַ֖ת וְלֹ֥א שְׁתָּֽיִם׃

KJV ¹¹ Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?

NEG ¹¹ Le roi de Syrie en eut le cœur agité; il appela ses serviteurs, et leur dit: Ne voulez-vous pas me déclarer lequel de nous est pour le roi d'Israël?

VULC ¹¹ Conturbatumque est cor regis Syriæ pro hac re : et convocatis servis suis, ait : Quare non indicatis mihi quis proditor mei sit apud regem Israël ?

WLC ¹¹ וַיִּסָּעֵר֙ לֵ֣ב מֶֽלֶךְ־ אֲרָ֔ם עַל־ הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֶל־ עֲבָדָיו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם הֲלוֹא֙ תַּגִּ֣ידוּ לִ֔י מִ֥י מִשֶּׁלָּ֖נוּ אֶל־ מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ¹² And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

NEG ¹² L'un de ses serviteurs répondit: Personne! ô roi mon seigneur; mais Elisée, le prophète, qui est en Israël, rapporte au roi d'Israël les paroles que tu prononces dans ta chambre à coucher.

VULC ¹² Dixitque unus servorum ejus : Nequaquam, domine mi rex, sed Eliseus propheta qui est in Israël, indicat regi Israël omnia verba quæcumque locutus fueris in conclavi tuo.

KJV ¹³ And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

KJV ¹⁴ Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

NEG ¹⁴ Il y envoya des chevaux, des chars et une forte troupe, qui arrivèrent de nuit et qui enveloppèrent la ville.

VULC ¹⁴ Misit ergo illuc equos et currus, et robur exercitus : qui cum venissent nocte, circumdederunt civitatem.

KJV ¹⁵ And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

NEG ¹⁵ Le serviteur de l'homme de Dieu se leva de bon matin et sortit; et voici, une troupe entourait la ville, avec des chevaux et des chars. Et le serviteur dit à l'homme de Dieu: Ah! mon seigneur, comment ferons-nous?

VULC ¹⁵ Consurgens autem diluculo minister viri Dei, egressus vidit exercitum in circuitu civitatis, et equos et currus : nuntiavitque ei, dicens : Heu ! heu ! heu ! domine mi : quid faciemus ?

WLC ¹⁵ וַ֠יַּשְׁכֵּם מְשָׁרֵ֨ת אִ֥ישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִים֮ לָקוּם֒ וַיֵּצֵ֕א וְהִנֵּה־ חַ֛יִל סוֹבֵ֥ב אֶת־ הָעִ֖יר וְס֣וּס וָרָ֑כֶב וַיֹּ֨אמֶר נַעֲר֥וֹ אֵלָ֛יו אֲהָ֥הּ אֲדֹנִ֖י אֵיכָ֥ה נַֽעֲשֶֽׂה׃

KJV ¹⁶ And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

NEG ¹⁶ Il répondit: Ne crains point, car ceux qui sont avec nous sont en plus grand nombre que ceux qui sont avec eux.

VULC ¹⁶ At ille respondit : Noli timere : plures enim nobiscum sunt, quam cum illis.

WLC ¹⁶ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אַל־ תִּירָ֑א כִּ֤י רַבִּים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתָּ֔נוּ מֵאֲשֶׁ֖ר אוֹתָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁷ And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

NEG ¹⁷ Elisée pria, et dit: Eternel, ouvre ses yeux, pour qu'il voie. Et l'Eternel ouvrit les yeux du serviteur, qui vit la montagne pleine de chevaux et de chars de feu autour d'Elisée.

VULC ¹⁷ Cumque orasset Eliseus, ait : Domine, aperi oculos hujus, ut videat. Et aperuit Dominus oculos pueri, et vidit : et ecce mons plenus equorum et curruum igneorum in circuitu Elisei.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֤ל אֱלִישָׁע֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר יְהוָ֕ה פְּקַח־ נָ֥א אֶת־ עֵינָ֖יו וְיִרְאֶ֑ה וַיִּפְקַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ עֵינֵ֣י הַנַּ֔עַר וַיַּ֗רְא וְהִנֵּ֨ה הָהָ֜ר מָלֵ֨א סוּסִ֥ים וְרֶ֛כֶב אֵ֖שׁ סְבִיבֹ֥ת אֱלִישָֽׁע׃

KJV ¹⁸ And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

NEG ¹⁸ Les Syriens descendirent vers Elisée. Il adressa alors cette prière à l'Eternel: Daigne frapper d'aveuglement cette nation! Et l'Eternel les frappa d'aveuglement, selon la parole d'Elisée.

VULC ¹⁸ Hostes vero descenderunt ad eum : porro Eliseus oravit ad Dominum, dicens : Percute, obsecro, gentem hanc cæcitate. Percussitque eos Dominus ne viderent, juxta verbum Elisei.

WLC ¹⁸ וַיֵּרְדוּ֮ אֵלָיו֒ וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֨ל אֱלִישָׁ֤ע אֶל־ יְהוָה֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר הַךְ־ נָ֥א אֶת־ הַגּוֹי־ הַזֶּ֖ה בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֑ים וַיַּכֵּ֥ם בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֖ים כִּדְבַ֥ר אֱלִישָֽׁע׃

KJV ¹⁹ And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.

NEG ¹⁹ Elisée leur dit: Ce n'est pas ici le chemin, et ce n'est pas ici la ville; suivez-moi, et je vous conduirai vers l'homme que vous cherchez. Et il les conduisit à Samarie.

VULC ¹⁹ Dixit autem ad eos Eliseus : Non est hæc via, neque ista est civitas : sequimini me, et ostendam vobis virum quem quæritis. Duxit ergo eos in Samariam :

WLC ¹⁹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֜ם אֱלִישָׁ֗ע לֹ֣א זֶ֣ה הַדֶּרֶךְ֮ וְלֹ֣א זֹ֣ה הָעִיר֒ לְכ֣וּ אַחֲרַ֔י וְאוֹלִ֣יכָה אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֶל־ הָאִ֖ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תְּבַקֵּשׁ֑וּן וַיֹּ֥לֶךְ אוֹתָ֖ם שֹׁמְרֽוֹנָה׃

KJV ²⁰ And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

NEG ²⁰ Lorsqu'ils furent entrés dans Samarie, Elisée dit: Eternel, ouvre les yeux de ces gens, pour qu'ils voient! Et l'Eternel ouvrit leurs yeux, et ils virent qu'ils étaient au milieu de Samarie.

VULC ²⁰ cumque ingressi fuissent in Samariam, dixit Eliseus : Domine, aperi oculos istorum, ut videant. Aperuitque Dominus oculos eorum, et viderunt se esse in medio Samariæ.

WLC ²⁰ וַיְהִי֮ כְּבֹאָ֣ם שֹׁמְרוֹן֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלִישָׁ֔ע יְהוָ֕ה פְּקַ֥ח אֶת־ עֵינֵֽי־ אֵ֖לֶּה וְיִרְא֑וּ וַיִּפְקַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ עֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּרְא֕וּ וְהִנֵּ֖ה בְּת֥וֹךְ שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

KJV ²¹ And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?

NEG ²¹ Le roi d'Israël, en les voyant, dit à Elisée: Frapperai-je, frapperai-je, mon père?

VULC ²¹ Dixitque rex Israël ad Eliseum, cum vidisset eos : Numquid percutiam eos, pater mi ?

WLC ²¹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֶֽלֶךְ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־ אֱלִישָׁ֔ע כִּרְאֹת֖וֹ אוֹתָ֑ם הַאַכֶּ֥ה אַכֶּ֖ה אָבִֽי׃

KJV ²² And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.

NEG ²² Tu ne frapperas point, répondit Elisée; est-ce que tu frappes ceux que tu fais prisonniers avec ton épée et avec ton arc? Donne-leur du pain et de l'eau, afin qu'ils mangent et boivent; et qu'ils s'en aillent ensuite vers leur maître.

VULC ²² At ille ait : Non percuties : neque enim cepisti eos gladio et arcu tuo, ut percutias : sed pone panem et aquam coram eis, ut comedant et bibant, et vadant ad dominum suum.

WLC ²² וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לֹ֣א תַכֶּ֔ה הַאֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁבִ֛יתָ בְּחַרְבְּךָ֥ וּֽבְקַשְׁתְּךָ֖ אַתָּ֣ה מַכֶּ֑ה שִׂים֩ לֶ֨חֶם וָמַ֜יִם לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם וְיֹֽאכְלוּ֙ וְיִשְׁתּ֔וּ וְיֵלְכ֖וּ אֶל־ אֲדֹנֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV ²³ And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

NEG ²³ Le roi d'Israël leur fit servir un grand repas, et ils mangèrent et burent; puis il les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent vers leur maître. Et les troupes des Syriens ne revinrent plus sur le territoire d'Israël.

VULC ²³ Appositaque est eis ciborum magna præparatio, et comederunt et biberunt, et dimisit eos, abieruntque ad dominum suum, et ultra non venerunt latrones Syriæ in terram Israël.

WLC ²³ וַיִּכְרֶ֨ה לָהֶ֜ם כֵּרָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֗ה וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ֙ וַיִּשְׁתּ֔וּ וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֔ם וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ אֶל־ אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֑ם וְלֹֽא־ יָ֤סְפוּ עוֹד֙ גְּדוּדֵ֣י אֲרָ֔ם לָב֖וֹא בְּאֶ֥רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ²⁴ And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.

NEG ²⁴ Après cela, Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, ayant rassemblé toute son armée, monta et assiégea Samarie.

VULC ²⁴ Factum est autem post hæc, congregavit Benadad rex Syriæ universum exercitum suum, et ascendit, et obsidebat Samariam.

WLC ²⁴ וַֽיְהִי֙ אַחֲרֵי־ כֵ֔ן וַיִּקְבֹּ֛ץ בֶּן־ הֲדַ֥ד מֶֽלֶךְ־ אֲרָ֖ם אֶת־ כָּל־ מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ וַיַּ֕עַל וַיָּ֖צַר עַל־ שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

KJV ²⁵ And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

NEG ²⁵ Il y eut une grande famine dans Samarie; et ils la serrèrent tellement qu'une tête d'âne valait quatre-vingts sicles d'argent, et le quart d'un cab de fiente de pigeon cinq sicles d'argent.

VULC ²⁵ Factaque est fames magna in Samaria : et tamdiu obsessa est, donec venundaretur caput asini octoginta argenteis, et quarta pars cabi stercoris columbarum quinque argenteis.

WLC ²⁵ וַיְהִ֨י רָעָ֤ב גָּדוֹל֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן וְהִנֵּ֖ה צָרִ֣ים עָלֶ֑יהָ עַ֣ד הֱי֤וֹת רֹאשׁ־ חֲמוֹר֙ בִּשְׁמֹנִ֣ים כֶּ֔סֶף וְרֹ֛בַע הַקַּ֥ב בַּחֲמִשָּׁה־ כָֽסֶף׃

KJV ²⁶ And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.

NEG ²⁶ Et comme le roi passait sur la muraille, une femme lui cria: Sauve-moi, ô roi, mon seigneur!

VULC ²⁶ Cumque rex Israël transiret per murum, mulier quædam exclamavit ad eum, dicens : Salva me, domine mi rex.

WLC ²⁶ וַֽיְהִי֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עֹבֵ֖ר עַל־ הַחֹמָ֑ה וְאִשָּׁ֗ה צָעֲקָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הוֹשִׁ֖יעָה אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

KJV ²⁷ And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

NEG ²⁷ Il répondit: Si l'Eternel ne te sauve pas, avec quoi te sauverais-je? avec le produit de l'aire ou du pressoir?

WLC ²⁷ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַל־ יוֹשִׁעֵ֣ךְ יְהוָ֔ה מֵאַ֖יִן אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ךְ הֲמִן־ הַגֹּ֖רֶן א֥וֹ מִן־ הַיָּֽקֶב׃

KJV ²⁸ And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.

NEG ²⁸ Et le roi lui dit: Qu'as-tu? Elle répondit: Cette femme-là m'a dit: Donne ton fils! nous le mangerons aujourd'hui, et demain nous mangerons mon fils.

VULC ²⁸ Mulier ista dixit mihi : Da filium tuum, ut comedamus eum hodie, et filium meum comedemus cras.

WLC ²⁸ וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ לָ֥הּ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מַה־ לָּ֑ךְ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר הָאִשָּׁ֨ה הַזֹּ֜את אָמְרָ֣ה אֵלַ֗י תְּנִ֤י אֶת־ בְּנֵךְ֙ וְנֹאכְלֶ֣נּוּ הַיּ֔וֹם וְאֶת־ בְּנִ֖י נֹאכַ֥ל מָחָֽר׃

KJV ²⁹ So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

NEG ²⁹ Nous avons fait cuire mon fils, et nous l'avons mangé. Et le jour suivant, je lui ai dit: Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons. Mais elle a caché son fils.

VULC ²⁹ Coximus ergo filium meum, et comedimus. Dixique ei die altera : Da filium tuum, ut comedamus eum. Quæ abscondit filium suum.

WLC ²⁹ וַנְּבַשֵּׁ֥ל אֶת־ בְּנִ֖י וַנֹּֽאכְלֵ֑הוּ וָאֹמַ֨ר אֵלֶ֜יהָ בַּיּ֣וֹם הָאַחֵ֗ר תְּנִ֤י אֶת־ בְּנֵךְ֙ וְנֹ֣אכְלֶ֔נּוּ וַתַּחְבִּ֖א אֶת־ בְּנָֽהּ׃

KJV ³⁰ And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.

NEG ³⁰ Lorsque le roi entendit les paroles de cette femme, il déchira ses vêtements, en passant sur la muraille; et le peuple vit qu'il avait en dedans un sac sur son corps.

VULC ³⁰ Quod cum audisset rex, scidit vestimenta sua, et transibat per murum. Viditque omnis populus cilicium quo vestitus erat ad carnem intrinsecus.

WLC ³⁰ וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־ דִּבְרֵ֤י הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ וַיִּקְרַ֣ע אֶת־ בְּגָדָ֔יו וְה֖וּא עֹבֵ֣ר עַל־ הַחֹמָ֑ה וַיַּ֣רְא הָעָ֔ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַשַּׂ֛ק עַל־ בְּשָׂר֖וֹ מִבָּֽיִת׃

KJV ³¹ Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.

NEG ³¹ Le roi dit: Que Dieu me punisse dans toute sa rigueur, si la tête d'Elisée, fils de Schaphath, reste aujourd'hui sur lui!

VULC ³¹ Et ait rex : Hæc mihi faciat Deus, et hæc addat, si steterit caput Elisei filii Saphat super ipsum hodie.

WLC ³¹ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר כֹּֽה־ יַעֲשֶׂה־ לִּ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְכֹ֣ה יוֹסִ֑ף אִֽם־ יַעֲמֹ֞ד רֹ֣אשׁ אֱלִישָׁ֧ע בֶּן־ שָׁפָ֛ט עָלָ֖יו הַיּֽוֹם׃

KJV ³² But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?

NEG ³² Or Elisée était dans sa maison et les anciens étaient assis auprès de lui. Le roi envoya quelqu'un devant lui. Mais avant que le messager soit arrivé, Elisée dit aux anciens: Voyez-vous que ce fils d'assassin envoie quelqu'un pour m'ôter la tête? Ecoutez! quand le messager viendra, fermez la porte, et repoussez-le avec la porte: le bruit des pas de son maître ne se fait-il pas entendre derrière lui?

VULC ³² Eliseus autem sedebat in domo sua, et senes sedebant cum eo. Præmisit itaque virum : et antequam veniret nuntius ille, dixit ad senes : Numquid scitis quod miserit filius homicidæ hic, ut præcidatur caput meum ? videte ergo : cum venerit nuntius, claudite ostium, et non sinatis eum introire : ecce enim sonitus pedum domini ejus post eum est.

WLC ³² וֶאֱלִישָׁע֙ יֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּבֵית֔וֹ וְהַזְּקֵנִ֖ים יֹשְׁבִ֣ים אִתּ֑וֹ וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח אִ֜ישׁ מִלְּפָנָ֗יו בְּטֶ֣רֶם יָבֹא֩ הַמַּלְאָ֨ךְ אֵלָ֜יו וְה֣וּא ׀ אָמַ֣ר אֶל־ הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים הַרְּאִיתֶם֙ כִּֽי־ שָׁלַ֞ח בֶּן־ הַֽמְרַצֵּ֤חַ הַזֶּה֙ לְהָסִ֣יר אֶת־ רֹאשִׁ֔י רְא֣וּ ׀ כְּבֹ֣א הַמַּלְאָ֗ךְ סִגְר֤וּ הַדֶּ֙לֶת֙ וּלְחַצְתֶּ֤ם אֹתוֹ֙ בַּדֶּ֔לֶת הֲל֗וֹא ק֛וֹל רַגְלֵ֥י אֲדֹנָ֖יו אַחֲרָֽיו׃

KJV ³³ And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; what should I wait for the LORD any longer?

NEG ³³ Il leur parlait encore, et déjà le messager était descendu vers lui, et disait: Voici, ce mal vient de l'Eternel; qu'ai-je à espérer encore de l'Eternel?

VULC ³³ Adhuc illo loquente eis, apparuit nuntius qui veniebat ad eum. Et ait : Ecce, tantum malum a Domino est : quid amplius expectabo a Domino ?

WLC ³³ עוֹדֶ֙נּוּ֙ מְדַבֵּ֣ר עִמָּ֔ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַמַּלְאָ֖ךְ יֹרֵ֣ד אֵלָ֑יו וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּֽה־ זֹ֤את הָֽרָעָה֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מָֽה־ אוֹחִ֥יל לַיהוָ֖ה עֽוֹד׃
