2 Samuel 4KJV 1 And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.
VULC 1 Audivit autem Isboseth filius Saul quod cecidisset Abner in Hebron : et dissolutæ sunt manus ejus, omnisque Israël perturbatus est.
WLC 1 וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע בֶּן־ שָׁא֗וּל כִּ֣י מֵ֤ת אַבְנֵר֙ בְּחֶבְר֔וֹן וַיִּרְפּ֖וּ יָדָ֑יו וְכָל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נִבְהָֽלוּ׃
KJV 2 And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin.
VULC 2 Duo autem viri principes latronum erant filio Saul, nomen uni Baana, et nomen alteri Rechab, filii Remmon Berothitæ de filiis Benjamin : siquidem et Beroth reputata est in Benjamin.

KJV 3 And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)
VULC 3 Et fugerunt Berothitæ in Gethaim, fueruntque ibi advenæ usque ad tempus illud.
WLC 3 וַיִּבְרְח֥וּ הַבְּאֵרֹתִ֖ים גִּתָּ֑יְמָה וַֽיִּהְיוּ־ שָׁ֣ם גָּרִ֔ים עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
KJV 4 And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
VULC 4 Erat autem Jonathæ filio Saul filius debilis pedibus : quinquennis enim fuit, quando venit nuntius de Saul et Jonatha ex Jezrahel. Tollens itaque eum nutrix sua, fugit : cumque festinaret ut fugeret, cecidit, et claudus effectus est : habuitque vocabulum Miphiboseth.
WLC 4 וְלִיהֽוֹנָתָן֙ בֶּן־ שָׁא֔וּל בֵּ֖ן נְכֵ֣ה רַגְלָ֑יִם בֶּן־ חָמֵ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֣ים הָיָ֡ה בְּבֹ֣א שְׁמֻעַת֩ שָׁא֨וּל וִיהֽוֹנָתָ֜ן מִֽיִּזְרְעֶ֗אל וַתִּשָּׂאֵ֤הוּ אֹֽמַנְתּוֹ֙ וַתָּנֹ֔ס וַיְהִ֞י בְּחָפְזָ֥הּ לָנ֛וּס וַיִּפֹּ֥ל וַיִּפָּסֵ֖חַ וּשְׁמ֥וֹ מְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃
KJV 5 And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.
VULC 5 Venientes igitur filii Remmon Berothitæ, Rechab et Baana, ingressi sunt fervente die domum Isboseth : qui dormiebat super stratum suum meridie. Et ostiaria domus purgans triticum, obdormivit.
WLC 5 וַיֵּ֨לְכ֜וּ בְּנֵֽי־ רִמּ֤וֹן הַבְּאֵֽרֹתִי֙ רֵכָ֣ב וּבַעֲנָ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ כְּחֹ֣ם הַיּ֔וֹם אֶל־ בֵּ֖ית אִ֣ישׁ בֹּ֑שֶׁת וְה֣וּא שֹׁכֵ֔ב אֵ֖ת מִשְׁכַּ֥ב הַֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃
KJV 6 And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
VULC 6 Ingressi sunt autem domum latenter assumentes spicas tritici, et percusserunt eum in inguine Rechab, et Baana frater ejus, et fugerunt.
WLC 6 וְ֠הֵנָּה בָּ֜אוּ עַד־ תּ֤וֹךְ הַבַּ֙יִת֙ לֹקְחֵ֣י חִטִּ֔ים וַיַּכֻּ֖הוּ אֶל־ הַחֹ֑מֶשׁ וְרֵכָ֛ב וּבַעֲנָ֥ה אָחִ֖יו נִמְלָֽטוּ׃
KJV 7 For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.
VULC 7 Cum autem ingressi fuissent domum, ille dormiebat super lectum suum in conclavi, et percutientes interfecerunt eum : sublatoque capite ejus, abierunt per viam deserti tota nocte,
WLC 7 וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ הַבַּ֗יִת וְהֽוּא־ שֹׁכֵ֤ב עַל־ מִטָּתוֹ֙ בַּחֲדַ֣ר מִשְׁכָּב֔וֹ וַיַּכֻּ֙הוּ֙ וַיְמִתֻ֔הוּ וַיָּסִ֖ירוּ אֶת־ רֹאשׁ֑וֹ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אֶת־ רֹאשׁ֔וֹ וַיֵּֽלְכ֛וּ דֶּ֥רֶךְ הָעֲרָבָ֖ה כָּל־ הַלָּֽיְלָה׃
KJV 8 And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
VULC 8 et attulerunt caput Isboseth ad David in Hebron : dixeruntque ad regem : Ecce caput Isboseth filii Saul inimici tui, qui quærebat animam tuam : et dedit Dominus domino meo regi ultionem hodie de Saul, et de semine ejus.
WLC 8 וַ֠יָּבִאוּ אֶת־ רֹ֨אשׁ אִֽישׁ־ בֹּ֥שֶׁת אֶל־ דָּוִד֮ חֶבְרוֹן֒ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ הִנֵּֽה־ רֹ֣אשׁ אִֽישׁ־ בֹּ֗שֶׁת בֶּן־ שָׁאוּל֙ אֹֽיִבְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּקֵּ֖שׁ אֶת־ נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ וַיִּתֵּ֣ן יְ֠הוָה לַֽאדֹנִ֨י הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ נְקָמוֹת֙ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה מִשָּׁא֖וּל וּמִזַּרְעֽוֹ׃
KJV 9 And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
VULC 9 Respondens autem David Rechab, et Baana fratri ejus, filiis Remmon Berothitæ, dixit ad eos : Vivit Dominus, qui eruit animam meam de omni angustia,
WLC 9 וַיַּ֨עַן דָּוִ֜ד אֶת־ רֵכָ֣ב ׀ וְאֶת־ בַּעֲנָ֣ה אָחִ֗יו בְּנֵ֛י רִמּ֥וֹן הַבְּאֵֽרֹתִ֖י וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֑ם חַי־ יְהוָ֕ה אֲשֶׁר־ פָּדָ֥ה אֶת־ נַפְשִׁ֖י מִכָּל־ צָרָֽה׃
KJV 10 When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
VULC 10 quoniam eum qui annuntiaverat mihi, et dixerat : Mortuus est Saul : qui putabat se prospera nuntiare, tenui, et occidi eum in Siceleg, cui oportebat mercedem dare pro nuntio.
WLC 10 כִּ֣י הַמַּגִּיד֩ לִ֨י לֵאמֹ֜ר הִנֵּה־ מֵ֣ת שָׁא֗וּל וְהֽוּא־ הָיָ֤ה כִמְבַשֵּׂר֙ בְּעֵינָ֔יו וָאֹחֲזָ֣ה ב֔וֹ וָאֶהְרְגֵ֖הוּ בְּצִֽקְלָ֑ג אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְתִתִּי־ ל֖וֹ בְּשֹׂרָֽה׃
KJV 11 How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
VULC 11 Quanto magis nunc cum homines impii interfecerunt virum innoxium in domo sua, super lectum suum, non quæram sanguinem ejus de manu vestra, et auferam vos de terra ?
WLC 11 אַ֞ף כִּֽי־ אֲנָשִׁ֣ים רְשָׁעִ֗ים הָרְג֧וּ אֶת־ אִישׁ־ צַדִּ֛יק בְּבֵית֖וֹ עַל־ מִשְׁכָּב֑וֹ וְעַתָּ֗ה הֲל֨וֹא אֲבַקֵּ֤שׁ אֶת־ דָּמוֹ֙ מִיֶּדְכֶ֔ם וּבִעַרְתִּ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם מִן־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
KJV 12 And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
VULC 12 Præcepit itaque David pueris suis, et interfecerunt eos : præcidentesque manus et pedes eorum, suspenderunt eos super piscinam in Hebron : caput autem Isboseth tulerunt, et sepelierunt in sepulchro Abner in Hebron.
WLC 12 וַיְצַו֩ דָּוִ֨ד אֶת־ הַנְּעָרִ֜ים וַיַּהַרְג֗וּם וַֽיְקַצְּצ֤וּ אֶת־ יְדֵיהֶם֙ וְאֶת־ רַגְלֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּתְל֥וּ עַל־ הַבְּרֵכָ֖ה בְּחֶבְר֑וֹן וְאֵ֨ת רֹ֤אשׁ אִֽישׁ־ בֹּ֙שֶׁת֙ לָקָ֔חוּ וַיִּקְבְּר֥וּ בְקֶֽבֶר־ אַבְנֵ֖ר בְּחֶבְרֽוֹן׃
