BAN ¹ Je t'adjure devant Dieu et devant Jésus-Christ, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, et par son apparition et par son règne :

BAN ² Prêche la Parole, insiste en temps, hors de temps, reprends, censure, exhorte avec toute longanimité et instruction.

BAN ³ Car il viendra un temps où ils ne supporteront point la saine doctrine ; mais ayant une démangeaison d'entendre des choses agréables, ils s'assembleront des docteurs selon leurs propres désirs ;

KJV ³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

BAN ⁴ et ils fermeront l'oreille à la vérité, et se tourneront vers des fables.

KJV ⁴ And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

BAN ⁵ Mais toi, sois vigilant en toutes choses ; endure les souffrances ; fais l'oeuvre d'un évangéliste ; rends ton service accompli.

KJV ⁵ But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

BAN ⁶ Car pour moi, je vais être immolé, et le temps de mon départ est arrivé.

KJV ⁶ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

BAN ⁷ J'ai combattu le bon combat, j'ai achevé la course, j'ai gardé la foi ;

KJV ⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

BAN ⁸ au reste, la couronne de justice m'est réservée, que le Seigneur, juste Juge, me donnera en ce jour-là, et non seulement à moi, mais aussi à tous ceux qui auront aimé son apparition.

KJV ⁸ Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
