KJV ³ And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

BAN ⁴ Et il était accompagné jusqu'en Asie par Sopater, fils de Pyrrhus, de Bérée ; par Aristarque et Second de Thessalonique ; par Gaïus de Derbe, et Timothée ; et par les Asiates Tychique et Trophime.

KJV ⁴ And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

BAN ⁵ Or ceux-ci, ayant pris les devants, nous attendaient à Troas.

KJV ⁵ These going before tarried for us at Troas.

BAN ⁶ Mais nous, après les jours des pains sans levain, nous nous embarquâmes à Philippes, et en cinq jours nous les rejoignîmes à Troas, où nous demeurâmes sept jours.

KJV ⁶ And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

BAN ⁷ Or le premier jour de la semaine, comme nous étions assemblés pour rompre le pain, Paul s'entretenait avec eux, devant partir le lendemain ; et il prolongea son discours jusqu'à minuit.

KJV ⁷ And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

BAN ⁸ Or il y avait beaucoup de lampes dans la chambre haute où nous étions assemblés ;

KJV ⁸ And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

BAN ⁹ et un jeune homme nommé Eutyche, qui était assis sur la fenêtre, fut accablé d'un profond sommeil, pendant que Paul prolongeait son discours, et, entraîné par le sommeil, il tomba du troisième étage en bas, et fut relevé mort.

KJV ⁹ And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

BAN ¹⁰ Mais Paul étant descendu, se pencha sur lui, et, l'ayant pris dans ses bras, dit : Ne vous troublez point, car son âme est en lui,

KJV ¹⁰ And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

BAN ¹¹ Et étant remonté, il rompit le pain, et il mangea, et après avoir conversé assez longtemps, jusqu'au point du jour, il partit ainsi.

KJV ¹¹ When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

BAN ¹² Or, on ramena le jeune homme vivant, et ils furent grandement consolés.

KJV ¹² And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

BAN ¹³ Pour nous, prenant les devants sur le vaisseau, nous fîmes voile vers Assos, où nous devions reprendre Paul ; car il l'avait ainsi ordonné, lui-même devant faire le chemin à pied.

KJV ¹³ And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

BAN ¹⁴ Et quand il nous eut rejoints à Assos, nous le prîmes à bord et nous vînmes à Mitylène.

KJV ¹⁴ And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.

BAN ¹⁵ Et étant partis de là par mer, nous arrivâmes le lendemain en face de Chios. Le jour suivant, nous abordâmes à Samos, et après nous être arrêtés à Trogylle, nous arrivâmes le lendemain à Milet.

KJV ¹⁵ And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

BAN ¹⁶ Car Paul avait résolu de passer devant Ephèse sans s'y arrêter afin qu'il ne lui arrivât pas de perdre du temps en Asie ; car il se hâtait pour être à Jérusalem le jour de la Pentecôte, si cela lui était possible.

KJV ¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

BAN ¹⁷ Mais de Milet il envoya à Ephèse, et fit appeler les anciens de l'Eglise.

KJV ¹⁷ And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

BAN ¹⁸ Et lorsqu'ils furent arrivés vers lui, il leur dit : Vous savez, depuis le premier jour où je suis arrivé en Asie, comment je me suis conduit avec vous tout le temps,

KJV ¹⁸ And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

BAN ¹⁹ servant le Seigneur avec toute humilité et avec larmes, et au milieu des épreuves qui me sont survenues par les embûches des Juifs ;

KJV ¹⁹ Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

BAN ²⁰ comment je ne vous ai rien caché des choses qui vous étaient utiles, pour me dispenser de vous prêcher et de vous enseigner, en public et de maison en maison ;

KJV ²⁰ And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

BAN ²¹ rendant témoignage, tant aux Juifs qu'aux Grecs, de la repentance envers Dieu et de la foi en notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ.

KJV ²¹ Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

BAN ²² Et maintenant voici, lié par l'Esprit, je vais à Jérusalem, ne sachant pas ce qui m'y arrivera ;

KJV ²² And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

BAN ²³ si ce n'est que, de ville en ville, l'Esprit saint me rend témoignage, disant que des liens et des tribulations m'attendent.

KJV ²³ Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

BAN ²⁴ Mais je ne tiens aucun compte de ma vie, en sorte que j'achève ma course et le ministère que j'ai reçu du Seigneur Jésus, pour rendre témoignage à l'Evangile de la grâce de Dieu.

KJV ²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

BAN ²⁵ Et maintenant voici, je sais que vous ne verrez plus mon visage, vous tous, parmi lesquels j'ai séjourné en prêchant le royaume de Dieu.

KJV ²⁵ And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

BAN ²⁶ C'est pourquoi je vous atteste aujourd'hui que je suis net du sang de tous ;

KJV ²⁶ Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

KJV ²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

BAN ²⁸ Prenez donc garde à vous-mêmes et à tout le troupeau au milieu duquel l'Esprit saint vous a établis évêques, pour paître l'Eglise du Seigneur, qu'il a acquise par son propre sang.

KJV ²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

BAN ²⁹ Car je sais qu'après mon départ entreront parmi vous des loups dangereux, qui n'épargneront point le troupeau ;

KJV ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

BAN ³⁰ et que d'entre vous-mêmes se lèveront des hommes qui annonceront des doctrines perverties, afin d'attirer les disciples après eux.

KJV ³⁰ Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

BAN ³¹ C'est pourquoi veillez, vous souvenant que durant trois ans, nuit et jour, je n'ai cessé d'avertir chacun avec larmes.

KJV ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

BAN ³² Et maintenant je vous recommande à Dieu, et à la parole de sa grâce, à lui qui est puissant pour vous édifier encore, et vous donner l'héritage parmi tous ceux qui ont été sanctifiés.

KJV ³² And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

BAN ³³ Je n'ai convoité ni l'argent, ni l'or, ni les vêtements de personne.

KJV ³³ I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

BAN ³⁴ Vous savez vous-mêmes que ces mains ont pourvu à mes besoins et à ceux des personnes qui étaient avec moi.

KJV ³⁴ Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

BAN ³⁵ En toutes choses je vous ai montré que c'est en travaillant ainsi qu'il faut secourir les faibles, et se souvenir des paroles du Seigneur Jésus, car lui-même a dit : Il y a plus de bonheur à donner qu'à recevoir.

KJV ³⁵ I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

BAN ³⁶ Et après avoir dit ces choses, s'étant mis à genoux, il pria avec eux tous.

KJV ³⁶ And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

BAN ³⁷ Et tous versèrent d'abondantes larmes, et se jetant au cou de Paul, ils l'embrassaient,

KJV ³⁷ And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,

BAN ³⁸ étant surtout affligés de la parole qu'il avait dite, qu'ils ne verraient plus son visage. Et ils l'accompagnaient jusqu'au vaisseau.

KJV ³⁸ Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
