KJV ¹ The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

BAN ² Il dit : L'Eternel rugira de Sion, et de Jérusalem il fera entendre sa voix ; les pâturages des bergers seront en deuil et le sommet du Carmel sera desséché.

KJV ² And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

VULC ² Et dixit : [Dominus de Sion rugiet,

et exsiccatus est vertex Carmeli.

BAN ³ Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : A cause de trois crimes de Damas et à cause de quatre, je ne le rétracterai point, parce qu'ils ont broyé Galaad avec des traîneaux de fer,

KJV ³ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

VULC ³ Hæc dicit Dominus :
Super tribus sceleribus Damasci,
et super quatuor non convertam eum,
eo quod trituraverint in plaustris ferreis Galaad.

WLC ³ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־ שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י דַמֶּ֔שֶׂק וְעַל־ אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־ דּוּשָׁ֛ם בַּחֲרֻצ֥וֹת הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל אֶת־ הַגִּלְעָֽד׃

BAN ⁴ je lancerai le feu dans la maison d'Hazaël, et il dévorera les palais de Ben-Hadad,

KJV ⁴ But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.

VULC ⁴ Et mittam ignem in domum Azaël,
et devorabit domos Benadad.

WLC ⁴ וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּבֵ֣ית חֲזָאֵ֑ל וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת בֶּן־ הֲדָֽד׃

BAN ⁵ et je briserai le verrou de Damas, et j'exterminerai de Bikéath-Aven tout habitant et de Beth-Eden celui qui tient le sceptre, et le peuple de Syrie sera déporté à Kir, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ⁵ I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

VULC ⁵ Et conteram vectem Damasci :
et disperdam habitatorem de campo idoli,
et tenentem sceptrum de domo voluptatis :
et transferetur populus Syriæ Cyrenen,
dicit Dominus.

WLC ⁵ וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ בְּרִ֣יחַ דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י יוֹשֵׁב֙ מִבִּקְעַת־ אָ֔וֶן וְתוֹמֵ֥ךְ שֵׁ֖בֶט מִבֵּ֣ית עֶ֑דֶן וְגָל֧וּ עַם־ אֲרָ֛ם קִ֖ירָה אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ⁶ Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : A cause de trois crimes de Gaza et à cause de quatre, je ne le rétracterai point, parce qu'ils ont déporté des populations entières pour les livrer à Edom,

KJV ⁶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

VULC ⁶ Hæc dicit Dominus :
Super tribus sceleribus Gazæ,
et super quatuor non convertam eum,
eo quod transtulerint captivitatem perfectam,
ut concluderent eam in Idumæa.

WLC ⁶ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־ שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י עַזָּ֔ה וְעַל־ אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־ הַגְלוֹתָ֛ם גָּל֥וּת שְׁלֵמָ֖ה לְהַסְגִּ֥יר לֶאֱדֽוֹם׃

BAN ⁷ je lancerai le feu dans les murs de Gaza, et il dévorera ses palais,

KJV ⁷ But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:

VULC ⁷ Et mittam ignem in murum Gazæ,
et devorabit ædes ejus.

WLC ⁷ וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּחוֹמַ֣ת עַזָּ֑ה וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃

BAN ⁸ et j'exterminerai d'Asdod tout habitant et d'Askalon celui qui tient le sceptre, et je ramènerai ma main sur Ekron, et le reste des Philistins périra, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel.

KJV ⁸ And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

BAN ⁹ Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : A cause de trois crimes de Tyr et à cause de quatre, je ne le rétracterai point, parce qu'ils ont livré des populations entières à Edorn et ne se sont pas souvenus de l'alliance fraternelle,

KJV ⁹ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

BAN ¹⁰ je lancerai le feu dans les murs de Tyr, et il dévorera ses palais.

KJV ¹⁰ But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

WLC ¹⁰ וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּח֣וֹמַת צֹ֑ר וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃

BAN ¹¹ Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : A cause de trois crimes d'Edom et à cause de quatre, je ne le rétracterai point, parce qu'il a poursuivi son frère avec le glaive, et qu'il a détruit ses plus proches, et parce que sa colère n'a pas cessé de déchirer, et parce qu'il garde sa rancune à perpétuité,

KJV ¹¹ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

VULC ¹¹ Hæc dicit Dominus :
Super tribus sceleribus Edom,
et super quatuor non convertam eum,
eo quod persecutus sit in gladio fratrem suum,
et violaverit misericordiam ejus,
et tenuerit ultra furorem suum,
et indignationem suam servaverit usque in finem.

WLC ¹¹ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־ שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י אֱד֔וֹם וְעַל־ אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־ רָדְפ֨וֹ בַחֶ֤רֶב אָחִיו֙ וְשִׁחֵ֣ת רַחֲמָ֔יו וַיִּטְרֹ֤ף לָעַד֙ אַפּ֔וֹ וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ שְׁמָ֥רָה נֶֽצַח׃

BAN ¹² je lancerai le feu dans Théman, et il dévorera les palais de Botsra.

KJV ¹² But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

VULC ¹² Mittam ignem in Theman,
et devorabit ædes Bosræ.

WLC ¹² וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּתֵימָ֑ן וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת בָּצְרָֽה׃

BAN ¹³ Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : A cause de trois crimes des fils d'Ammon et à cause de quatre, je ne le rétracterai point, parce qu'ils ont fendu le ventre des femmes enceintes de Galaad, afin de reculer leur frontière,

KJV ¹³ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

VULC ¹³ Hæc dicit Dominus :
Super tribus sceleribus filiorum Ammon,
et super quatuor non convertam eum,
eo quod dissecuerit prægnantes Galaad
ad dilatandum terminum suum.

WLC ¹³ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־ שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־ עַמּ֔וֹן וְעַל־ אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־ בִּקְעָם֙ הָר֣וֹת הַגִּלְעָ֔ד לְמַ֖עַן הַרְחִ֥יב אֶת־ גְּבוּלָֽם׃

BAN ¹⁴ j'allumerai un feu dans les murs de Rabba, et il dévorera ses palais, avec le cri de guerre d'un jour de bataille, avec le tourbillon d'un jour de tempête.

KJV ¹⁴ But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

VULC ¹⁴ Et succendam ignem in muro Rabba,
et devorabit ædes ejus in ululatu in die belli,
et in turbine in die commotionis.

WLC ¹⁴ וְהִצַּ֤תִּי אֵשׁ֙ בְּחוֹמַ֣ת רַבָּ֔ה וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנוֹתֶ֑יהָ בִּתְרוּעָה֙ בְּי֣וֹם מִלְחָמָ֔ה בְּסַ֖עַר בְּי֥וֹם סוּפָֽה

BAN ¹⁵ Et leur roi sera déporté, lui, et ses princes avec lui, a dit l'Eternel.

KJV ¹⁵ And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.

VULC ¹⁵ Et ibit Melchom in captivitatem,
ipse et principes ejus simul,
dicit Dominus.]
