BAN ¹ Je vis, le Seigneur se tenant auprès de l'autel, et il dit : Frappe le chapiteau et que les seuils en tremblent ! Fends-leur à tous la tête! Et ce qui restera, je l'égorgerai par l'épée ; il ne s'en sauvera pas un, il n'en échappera pas un.

BAN ² S'ils percent jusqu'aux enfers, ma main les en tirera ; s'ils montent aux cieux, je les en ferai redescendre.

KJV ² Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:

VULC ² Si descenderint usque ad infernum,
inde manus mea educet eos ;
et si ascenderint usque in cælum,
inde detraham eos.

WLC ² אִם־ יַחְתְּר֣וּ בִשְׁא֔וֹל מִשָּׁ֖ם יָדִ֣י תִקָּחֵ֑ם וְאִֽם־ יַעֲלוּ֙ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם מִשָּׁ֖ם אוֹרִידֵֽם׃

BAN ³ S'ils se couchent au sommet du Carmel, je les y chercherai et les y prendrai ; et s'ils se dérobent à mes yeux au fond de la mer, là, je commanderai au serpent de les mordre.

KJV ³ And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

VULC ³ Et si absconditi fuerint in vertice Carmeli,

et si celaverint se ab oculis meis in profundo maris,
ibi mandabo serpenti, et mordebit eos.

BAN ⁴ Et s'ils s'en vont en captivité devant leurs ennemis, je commanderai là à l'épée de les égorger, et j'aurai les yeux sur eux pour le mal, non pour le bien.

KJV ⁴ And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

VULC ⁴ Et si abierint in captivitatem coram inimicis suis,
ibi mandabo gladio, et occidet eos :
et ponam oculos meos super eos in malum,

BAN ⁵ Le Seigneur, l'Eternel des armées, est celui qui touche la terre et le fond ; tous ses habitants sont en deuil ; le pays tout entier monte comme le Nil et s'abaisse comme le fleuve d'Egypte.

KJV ⁵ And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

BAN ⁶ Celui qui a construit ses degrés dans le ciel et qui a fondé sa voûte sur la terre, c'est lui qui appelle les eaux de la mer et qui les répand sur la surface de la terre ; l'Eternel est son nom.

KJV ⁶ It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

BAN ⁷ N'êtes-vous pas pour moi comme les fils des Cuschites, ô fils d'Israël ? N'ai-je pas fait monter Israël du pays d'Egypte, comme les Philistins de Caphtor et les Syriens de Kir ?

KJV ⁷ Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

BAN ⁸ Voici les yeux du Seigneur, l'Eternel, sont sur le royaume pécheur, et je le détruirai de dessus la face de la terre, sauf que je ne détruirai pas entièrement la maison de Jacob, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ⁸ Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.

BAN ⁹ Car je vais donner un ordre et secouer la maison d'Israël chez toutes les nations, comme on secoue avec le crible, sans que le bon grain tombe à terre.

KJV ⁹ For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

BAN ¹⁰ Tous les pécheurs de mon peuple mourront par l'épée, eux qui disent : Le mal ne peut pas s'approcher de nous, le mal ne peut pas nous atteindre.

KJV ¹⁰ All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.

BAN ¹² afin qu'ils possèdent le reste d'Edom et toutes les nations sur lesquelles mon nom a été invoqué, dit l'Eternel qui fait cela.

KJV ¹² That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

BAN ¹³ Voici des jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, où le laboureur joindra le moissonneur et où celui qui foule les raisins joindra celui qui répand la semence ; les montagnes découleront de moût, toutes les collines se fondront.

KJV ¹³ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

BAN ¹⁴ Et je ramènerai de la captivité mon peuple d'Israël ; ils rebâtiront les villes dévastées, et les habiteront ; ils replanteront des vignes et en boiront le vin ; ils feront des jardins et en mangeront les fruits.

KJV ¹⁴ And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

et ædificabunt civitates desertas, et inhabitabunt ;
et plantabunt vineas, et bibent vinum earum,

BAN ¹⁵ Et je les planterai sur leur sol, sans qu'ils soient jamais extirpés du pays que je leur ai donné, dit l'Eternel, ton Dieu.

KJV ¹⁵ And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
