S21 ¹ De la part de Paul, apôtre de Jésus-Christ par la volonté de Dieu, et du frère Timothée

KJV ² To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

S21 ² aux saints qui sont à Colosses, nos fidèles frères et sœurs en Christ: que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ!

KJV ³ We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

S21 ³ Nous disons constamment toute notre reconnaissance à Dieu, le Père de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, lorsque nous prions pour vous.

KJV ⁴ Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

S21 ⁴ En effet, nous avons été informés de votre foi en Jésus-Christ et de l'amour que vous avez pour tous les saints

KJV ⁵ For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

S21 ⁵ à cause de l'espérance qui vous est réservée au ciel. Cette espérance, vous en avez déjà entendu parler par la parole de la vérité, l'Evangile.

KJV ⁶ Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

S21 ⁶ Il est parvenu jusqu'à vous tout comme dans le monde entier, où il porte des fruits et progresse. C'est d'ailleurs aussi le cas parmi vous depuis le jour où vous avez entendu et connu la grâce de Dieu dans la vérité,

KJV ⁷ As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

S21 ⁷ suivant l'enseignement que vous avez reçu d'Epaphras, notre bien-aimé compagnon de service. Il est pour vous un fidèle serviteur de Christ,

KJV ⁸ Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

S21 ⁸ et il nous a appris de quel amour l'Esprit vous anime.

KJV ⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

S21 ⁹ Voilà pourquoi nous aussi, depuis le jour où nous en avons été informés, nous ne cessons de prier Dieu pour vous. Nous demandons que vous soyez remplis de la connaissance de sa volonté, en toutes sagesse et intelligence spirituelles,

KJV ¹⁰ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

S21 ¹⁰ pour marcher d'une manière digne du Seigneur et lui plaire entièrement. Vous aurez pour fruits toutes sortes d'œuvres bonnes et vous progresserez dans la connaissance de Dieu,

KJV ¹¹ Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

S21 ¹¹ vous serez fortifiés à tout point de vue par sa puissance glorieuse pour être toujours et avec joie persévérants et patients,

KJV ¹² Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

S21 ¹² et vous exprimerez votre reconnaissance au Père qui nous a rendus capables de prendre part à l'héritage des saints dans la lumière.

KJV ¹³ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

S21 ¹³ Il nous a délivrés de la puissance des ténèbres et nous a transportés dans le royaume de son Fils bien-aimé,

KJV ¹⁴ In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

S21 ¹⁴ en qui nous sommes rachetés, pardonnés de nos péchés.

KJV ¹⁵ Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

S21 ¹⁵ Le Fils est l'image du Dieu invisible, le premier-né de toute la création.

KJV ¹⁶ For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

S21 ¹⁶ En effet, c'est en lui que tout a été créé dans le ciel et sur la terre, le visible et l'invisible, trônes, souverainetés, dominations, autorités. Tout a été créé par lui et pour lui.

KJV ¹⁷ And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

KJV ¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

S21 ¹⁸ Il est la tête du corps qu'est l'Eglise; il est le commencement, le premier-né d'entre les morts, afin d'être en tout le premier.

KJV ¹⁹ For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

S21 ¹⁹ En effet, Dieu a voulu que toute sa plénitude habite en lui.

KJV ²⁰ And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

S21 ²⁰ Il a voulu par Christ tout réconcilier avec lui-même, aussi bien ce qui est sur la terre que ce qui est dans le ciel, en faisant la paix à travers lui, par son sang versé sur la croix.

KJV ²¹ And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

S21 ²¹ Et vous qui étiez autrefois étrangers et ennemis de Dieu par vos pensées et par vos œuvres mauvaises, il vous a maintenant réconciliés

KJV ²² In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

S21 ²² par la mort [de son Fils] dans son corps de chair pour vous faire paraître devant lui saints, sans défaut et sans reproche.

KJV ²³ If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

S21 ²³ Mais il faut que vous restiez fondés et inébranlables dans la foi, sans vous détourner de l'espérance de l'Evangile que vous avez entendu, qui a été proclamé à toute créature sous le ciel et dont moi, Paul, je suis devenu le serviteur.

KJV ²⁴ Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

S21 ²⁴ Je me réjouis maintenant dans mes souffrances pour vous et je supplée dans ma vie à ce qui manque aux peines infligées à Christ pour son corps, c'est-à-dire l'Eglise.

KJV ²⁵ Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

S21 ²⁵ C'est d'elle que je suis devenu le serviteur, conformément à la charge que Dieu m'a confiée pour vous: annoncer pleinement la parole de Dieu,

KJV ²⁶ Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

S21 ²⁶ le mystère caché de tout temps et à toutes les générations, mais révélé maintenant à ses saints.

KJV ²⁷ To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

S21 ²⁷ En effet, Dieu a voulu leur faire connaître la glorieuse richesse de ce mystère parmi les non-Juifs, c'est-à-dire Christ en vous, l'espérance de la gloire.

KJV ²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

S21 ²⁸ C'est lui que nous annonçons, en avertissant et en instruisant toute personne en toute sagesse, afin de présenter à Dieu toute personne devenue adulte en [Jésus-]Christ.

KJV ²⁹ Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

S21 ²⁹ C'est à cela que je travaille en combattant avec sa force qui agit puissamment en moi.
