BAN ² L'Eternel notre Dieu a traité avec vous une alliance en Horeb.

KJV ² The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

VULC ² Dominus Deus noster pepigit nobiscum fœdus in Horeb.

WLC ² יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ כָּרַ֥ת עִמָּ֛נוּ בְּרִ֖ית בְּחֹרֵֽב׃

BAN ³ Ce n'est point avec nos pères que l'Eternel a traité cette alliance, mais c'est avec nous, qui sommes ici aujourd'hui tous vivants.

KJV ³ The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

VULC ³ Non cum patribus nostris iniit pactum, sed nobiscum qui in præsentiarum sumus, et vivimus.

BAN ⁴ L'Eternel vous parla face à face sur la montagne, du milieu du feu,

KJV ⁴ The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

VULC ⁴ Facie ad faciem locutus est nobis in monte de medio ignis.

WLC ⁴ פָּנִ֣ים ׀ בְּפָנִ֗ים דִּבֶּ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה עִמָּכֶ֛ם בָּהָ֖ר מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ׃

BAN ⁵ je me tenais alors entre l'Eternel et vous pour vous rapporter la parole de l'Eternel, car vous aviez peur de ce feu et vous ne montâtes point sur la montagne, disant :

KJV ⁵ (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

VULC ⁵ Ego sequester et medius fui inter Dominum et vos in tempore illo, ut annuntiarem vobis verba ejus : timuistis enim ignem, et non ascendistis in montem. Et ait :

WLC ⁵ אָ֠נֹכִי עֹמֵ֨ד בֵּין־ יְהוָ֤ה וּבֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא לְהַגִּ֥יד לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־ דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֤י יְרֵאתֶם֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הָאֵ֔שׁ וְלֹֽא־ עֲלִיתֶ֥ם בָּהָ֖ר לֵאמֹֽר׃

BAN ⁶ Je suis l'Eternel, ton Dieu, qui t'ai tiré de la terre d'Egypte, d'une maison de servitude.

KJV ⁶ I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

VULC ⁶ Ego Dominus Deus tuus, qui eduxi te de terra Ægypti, de domo servitutis.

WLC ⁶ אָֽנֹכִי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הוֹצֵאתִ֛יךָ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֣֥ית עֲבָדִֽ֑ים׃

BAN ⁷ Tu n'auras pas d'autres dieux devant ma face.

KJV ⁷ Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

VULC ⁷ Non habebis deos alienos in conspectu meo.

WLC ⁷ לֹ֣א יִהְיֶ֥ה־ לְךָ֛֩ אֱלֹהִ֥֨ים אֲחֵרִ֖֜ים עַל־ פָּנָֽ֗יַ׃

BAN ⁸ Tu ne te feras pas d'image taillée, aucune figure de ce qui est dans, les cieux en haut ou de ce qui est sur la terre en bas, ou de ce qui est dans les eaux au-dessous de la terre.

KJV ⁸ Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

BAN ⁹ Tu ne te prosterneras point devant elles et tu ne les serviras point ; car je suis l'Eternel ton Dieu, un Dieu jaloux, punissant les crimes des pères sur les fils, sur la troisième et sur la quatrième génération pour ceux qui me haïssent,

KJV ⁹ Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

BAN ¹⁰ et traitant avec bonté jusqu'à mille générations ceux qui m'aiment et qui gardent mes commandements.

KJV ¹⁰ And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

VULC ¹⁰ et faciens misericordiam in multa millia diligentibus me, et custodientibus præcepta mea.

WLC ¹⁰ וְעֹ֤֥שֶׂה חֶ֖֙סֶד֙ לַֽאֲלָפִ֑֔ים לְאֹהֲבַ֖י וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י

BAN ¹¹ Tu ne prendras pas le nom de l'Eternel ton Dieu en vain, car l'Eternel n'absoudra point celui qui prendra son nom en vain.

KJV ¹¹ Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

VULC ¹¹ Non usurpabis nomen Domini Dei tui frustra : quia non erit impunitus qui super re vana nomen ejus assumpserit.

BAN ¹² Garde le jour du repos pour le sanctifier, comme l'Eternel ton Dieu te l'a commandé.

BAN ¹⁴ Mais le septième jour est un sabbat consacré à l'Eternel ton Dieu ; tu ne feras aucun ouvrage, ni toi, ni ton fils, ni ta fille, ni ton serviteur, ni ta servante, ni ton boeuf, ni ton âne, ni tout ton bétail, ni l'étranger qui est dans tes portes, afin que ton serviteur et ta servante se reposent comme toi.

BAN ¹⁵ Et tu te souviendras que tu as été serviteur sur la terre d'Egypte et que l'Eternel ton Dieu t'a fait sortir de là à main forte et à bras étendu ; c'est pourquoi l'Eternel ton Dieu t'a ordonné d'observer le jour du repos.

KJV ¹⁵ And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

BAN ¹⁶ Honore ton père et ta mère, comme l'Eternel ton Dieu te l'a commandé, afin que tes jours soient prolongés, et afin que tu sois heureux sur la terre que l'Eternel ton Dieu te donne.

KJV ¹⁶ Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

BAN ²² Ces paroles-là, l'Eternel les prononça parlant à toute votre assemblée sur la montagne, du milieu du feu, de la nuée et de 1'obscurité, d'une voix forte, et il ne dit rien de plus, et il les écrivit sur deux tables de pierre et il me les donna.

KJV ²² These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

BAN ²³ Et il arriva que lorsque vous entendîtes la voix du milieu des ténèbres, la montagne étant toute en feu, vous vous approchâtes de moi, tous vos chefs de tribus et vos Anciens,

KJV ²³ And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

VULC ²³ Vos autem postquam audistis vocem de medio tenebrarum, et montem ardere vidistis, accessistis ad me omnes principes tribuum et majores natu, atque dixistis :

WLC ²³ וַיְהִ֗י כְּשָׁמְעֲכֶ֤ם אֶת־ הַקּוֹל֙ מִתּ֣וֹךְ הַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ וְהָהָ֖ר בֹּעֵ֣ר בָּאֵ֑שׁ וַתִּקְרְב֣וּן אֵלַ֔י כָּל־ רָאשֵׁ֥י שִׁבְטֵיכֶ֖ם וְזִקְנֵיכֶֽם׃

BAN ²⁴ et vous dites : Voici, l'Eternel notre Dieu nous a fait voir sa gloire et sa grandeur et nous avons entendu sa voix du milieu du feu ; nous avons vu aujourd'hui Dieu parler à l'homme et l'homme rester vivant.

KJV ²⁴ And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

VULC ²⁴ Ecce ostendit nobis Dominus Deus noster majestatem et magnitudinem suam : vocem ejus audivimus de medio ignis, et probavimus hodie, quod loquente Deo cum homine, vixerit homo.

WLC ²⁴ וַתֹּאמְר֗וּ הֵ֣ן הֶרְאָ֜נוּ יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ אֶת־ כְּבֹד֣וֹ וְאֶת־ גָּדְל֔וֹ וְאֶת־ קֹל֥וֹ שָׁמַ֖עְנוּ מִתּ֣וֹךְ הָאֵ֑שׁ הַיּ֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ רָאִ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־ יְדַבֵּ֧ר אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת־ הָֽאָדָ֖ם וָחָֽי׃

BAN ²⁵ Et maintenant pourquoi mourrions-nous ? Car ce grand feu nous dévorera ; nous, si nous entendons encore la voix de l'Eternel notre Dieu, nous mourrons.

KJV ²⁵ Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

VULC ²⁵ Cur ergo moriemur, et devorabit nos ignis hic maximus ? si enim audierimus ultra vocem Domini Dei nostri, moriemur.

WLC ²⁵ וְעַתָּה֙ לָ֣מָּה נָמ֔וּת כִּ֣י תֹֽאכְלֵ֔נוּ הָאֵ֥שׁ הַגְּדֹלָ֖ה הַזֹּ֑את אִם־ יֹסְפִ֣ים ׀ אֲנַ֗חְנוּ לִ֠שְׁמֹעַ אֶת־ ק֨וֹל יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ ע֖וֹד וָמָֽתְנוּ׃

BAN ²⁶ Car, parmi toute chair, y a-t-il quelqu'un qui ait entendu comme nous la voix du Dieu vivant parlant du milieu du feu et qui soit demeuré vivant ?

KJV ²⁶ For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

VULC ²⁶ Quid est omnis caro, ut audiat vocem Dei viventis, qui de medio ignis loquitur sicut nos audivimus, et possit vivere ?

BAN ²⁷ Toi, approche-toi et écoute tout ce que dira l'Eternel notre Dieu, et tu nous diras, toi, tout ce que l'Eternel notre Dieu t'aura dit, et nous l'entendrons et le ferons.

KJV ²⁷ Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.

VULC ²⁷ Tu magis accede : et audi cuncta quæ dixerit Dominus Deus noster tibi : loquerisque ad nos, et nos audientes faciemus ea.

BAN ²⁸ Et l'Eternel entendit vos paroles tandis que vous me parliez, et l'Eternel me dit : J'ai entendu les paroles que ce peuple t'a adressées ; ils ont bien fait de dire tout ce qu'ils ont dit.

KJV ²⁸ And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

WLC ²⁸ וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ ק֣וֹל דִּבְרֵיכֶ֔ם בְּדַבֶּרְכֶ֖ם אֵלָ֑י וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י שָׁ֠מַעְתִּי אֶת־ ק֨וֹל דִּבְרֵ֜י הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבְּר֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יךָ הֵיטִ֖יבוּ כָּל־ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽרוּ׃

BAN ²⁹ Oh ! s'ils avaient toujours ce même coeur pour me craindre et pour observer tous mes commandements, afin qu'ils fussent heureux à jamais, eux et leurs enfants !

KJV ²⁹ O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

VULC ²⁹ Quis det talem eos habere mentem, ut timeant me, et custodiant universa mandata mea in omni tempore, ut bene sit eis et filiis eorum in sempiternum ?

WLC ²⁹ מִֽי־ יִתֵּ֡ן וְהָיָה֩ לְבָבָ֨ם זֶ֜ה לָהֶ֗ם לְיִרְאָ֥ה אֹתִ֛י וְלִשְׁמֹ֥ר אֶת־ כָּל־ מִצְוֺתַ֖י כָּל־ הַיָּמִ֑ים לְמַ֨עַן יִיטַ֥ב לָהֶ֛ם וְלִבְנֵיהֶ֖ם לְעֹלָֽם׃

BAN ³⁰ Va, dis-leur : Retournez dans vos tentes.

KJV ³⁰ Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.

VULC ³⁰ Vade et dic eis : Revertimini in tentoria vestra.

WLC ³⁰ לֵ֖ךְ אֱמֹ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם שׁ֥וּבוּ לָכֶ֖ם לְאָהֳלֵיכֶֽם׃

BAN ³¹ Et toi, reste ici avec moi, et je te dirai tous les commandements, les statuts et les ordonnances que tu leur enseigneras, afin qu'ils les mettent en pratique dans le pays que je leur donne en possession.

KJV ³¹ But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

VULC ³¹ Tu vero hic sta mecum, et loquar tibi omnia mandata mea, et cæremonias atque judicia : quæ docebis eos, ut faciant ea in terra, quam dabo illis in possessionem.

WLC ³¹ וְאַתָּ֗ה פֹּה֮ עֲמֹ֣ד עִמָּדִי֒ וַאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה אֵלֶ֗יךָ אֵ֧ת כָּל־ הַמִּצְוָ֛ה וְהַחֻקִּ֥ים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר תְּלַמְּדֵ֑ם וְעָשׂ֣וּ בָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י נֹתֵ֥ן לָהֶ֖ם לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

BAN ³² Et vous aurez soin d'agir ainsi que l'Eternel votre Dieu vous l'a commandé ; vous ne vous détournerez ni à droite ni à gauche.

KJV ³² Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

VULC ³² Custodite igitur et facite quæ præcepit Dominus Deus vobis : non declinabitis neque ad dexteram, neque ad sinistram :

WLC ³² וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֣ם לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֛ה יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם אֶתְכֶ֑ם לֹ֥א תָסֻ֖רוּ יָמִ֥ין וּשְׂמֹֽאל׃

BAN ³³ Vous suivrez entièrement le chemin que vous a prescrit l'Eternel votre Dieu, afin que vous viviez et soyez heureux et que vous prolongiez vos jours dans le pays que vous posséderez.

KJV ³³ Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

VULC ³³ sed per viam, quam præcepit Dominus Deus vester, ambulabitis, ut vivatis, et bene sit vobis, et protelentur dies in terra possessionis vestræ.
