²² Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. ²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. ²⁴ Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; ²⁶ That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, ²⁷ That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. ²⁹ For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: ³⁰ For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. ³¹ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. ³² This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. ³³ Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Ephésiens 6

   ¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. ² Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; ³ That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. ⁴ And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Maris et femmes

²² Femmes, que chacune soit soumise à son mari, comme au Seigneur; ²³ car le mari est le chef de la femme, comme Christ est le chef de l'Eglise qui est son corps, et dont il est le Sauveur. ²⁴ Or, de même que l'Eglise est soumise à Christ, les femmes aussi doivent l'être à leur mari en toutes choses.
²⁵ Maris, que chacun aime sa femme, comme Christ a aimé l'Eglise, et s'est livré lui-même pour elle, ²⁶ afin de la sanctifier en la purifiant et en la lavant par l'eau de la parole, ²⁷ pour faire paraître devant lui cette Eglise glorieuse, sans tache, ni ride, ni rien de semblable, mais sainte et irréprochable. ²⁸ C'est ainsi que le mari doit aimer sa femme comme son propre corps. Celui qui aime sa femme s'aime lui-même. ²⁹ Car jamais personne n'a haï sa propre chair, mais il la nourrit et en prend soin, comme Christ le fait pour l'Eglise, ³⁰ parce que nous sommes membres de son corps. ³¹ C'est pourquoi l'homme quittera son père et sa mère, s'attachera à sa femme, et les deux deviendront une seule chair. ³² Ce mystère est grand; je dis cela par rapport à Christ et à l'Eglise. ³³ Du reste, que chacun de vous aime sa femme comme lui-même, et que la femme respecte son mari.

Enfants et parents

¹ Enfants, obéissez à vos parents, selon le Seigneur, car cela est juste. ² Honore ton père et ta mère (c'est le premier commandement avec une promesse), ³ afin que tu sois heureux et que tu vives longtemps sur la terre.
⁴ Et vous, pères, n'irritez pas vos enfants, mais élevez-les en les corrigeant et en les instruisant selon le Seigneur.
