KJV ¹ The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

WLC ¹ מַשָּׂ֖א מוֹאָ֑ב כִּ֠י בְּלֵ֞יל שֻׁדַּ֨ד עָ֤ר מוֹאָב֙ נִדְמָ֔ה כִּ֗י בְּלֵ֛יל שֻׁדַּ֥ד קִיר־ מוֹאָ֖ב נִדְמָֽה׃

BAN ² On monte au temple et à Dibon, aux hauts-lieux, pour pleurer ; Moab hurle à Nébo et à Médeba ; toute tête est rasée, toute barbe est coupée.

KJV ² He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.

VULC ² Ascendit domus,
et Dibon ad excelsa,
in planctum super Nabo ;
et super Medaba, Moab ululavit ;
in cunctis capitibus ejus calvitium,
et omnis barba radetur.

BAN ³ Dans les rues ils se ceignent de sac ; sur les toits et dans les places, tous hurlent, fondent en larmes.

KJV ³ In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.

VULC ³ In triviis ejus accincti sunt sacco ;
super tecta ejus et in plateis ejus
omnis ululatus descendit in fletum.

WLC ³ בְּחוּצֹתָ֖יו חָ֣גְרוּ שָׂ֑ק עַ֣ל גַּגּוֹתֶ֧יהָ וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֛יהָ כֻּלֹּ֥ה יְיֵלִ֖יל יֹרֵ֥ד בַּבֶּֽכִי׃

BAN ⁴ Hesbon et Elealé poussent des cris ; leur voix est entendue jusqu'à Jahats ; c'est pourquoi les vaillants hommes, de Moab se lamentent et leur âme est tremblante.

KJV ⁴ And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him.

BAN ⁵ Mon coeur gémit sur Moab ; ses fugitifs sont déjà à Tsoar, à Eglath-Schelischia ; car on monte, en pleurant, la montée de Luchith, et sur le chemin de Horonaïm on pousse des cris de détresse ;

KJV ⁵ My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

VULC ⁵ Cor meum ad Moab clamabit ;
vectes ejus usque ad Segor,
vitulam conternantem ;
per ascensum enim Luith
flens ascendet,

BAN ⁶ car les eaux de Nimrim sont desséchées ; car l'herbe est consumée, le gazon est détruit, il n'y a plus de verdure.

KJV ⁶ For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.

VULC ⁶ Aquæ enim Nemrim desertæ erunt,
quia aruit herba, defecit germen,
viror omnis interiit.

BAN ⁷ C'est pourquoi ce qu'ils ont pu sauver et leurs provisions, ils les portent au-delà du torrent des Saules.

KJV ⁷ Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.

BAN ⁸ Car les cris ont fait le tour du territoire de Moab ; leur hurlement retentit jusqu'à Eglaïm, leur hurlement jusqu'à Béer-Elim.

KJV ⁸ For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.

VULC ⁸ Quoniam circuivit clamor terminum Moab ;
usque ad Gallim ululatus ejus,
et usque ad puteum Elim clamor ejus.

BAN ⁹ Car les eaux de Dimon sont pleines de sang ; car j'infligerai à Dimon un surcroît de malheur, un lion aux réchappés de Moab, à ce qui sera resté dans le pays.

KJV ⁹ For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.
