KJV ¹ The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

et ingredietur Ægyptum,

KJV ² And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

LSG ² J'armerai l'Égyptien contre l'Égyptien, Et l'on se battra frère contre frère, ami contre ami, Ville contre ville, royaume contre royaume.

VULC ² et concurrere faciam Ægyptios adversus Ægyptios ;
et pugnabit vir contra fratrem suum, et vir contra amicum suum,
civitas adversus civitatem, regnum adversus regnum.

KJV ³ And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

LSG ³ L'esprit de l'Égypte disparaîtra du milieu d'elle, Et j'anéantirai son conseil ; On consultera les idoles et les enchanteurs, Ceux qui évoquent les morts et ceux qui prédisent l'avenir.

VULC ³ Et dirumpetur spiritus Ægypti in visceribus ejus,
et consilium ejus præcipitabo ;
et interrogabunt simulacra sua, et divinos suos,
et pythones, et ariolos.

KJV ⁴ And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

LSG ⁴ Et je livrerai l'Égypte entre les mains d'un maître sévère ; Un roi cruel dominera sur eux, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel des armées.

VULC ⁴ Et tradam Ægyptum in manu dominorum crudelium,
et rex fortis dominabitur eorum,

KJV ⁵ And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

LSG ⁵ Les eaux de la mer tariront, Le fleuve deviendra sec et aride ;

VULC ⁵ Et arescet aqua de mari,
et fluvius desolabitur atque siccabitur.

KJV ⁶ And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.

LSG ⁶ Les rivières seront infectes, Les canaux de l'Égypte seront bas et desséchés, Les joncs et les roseaux se flétriront.

VULC ⁶ Et deficient flumina,
attenuabuntur et siccabuntur rivi aggerum,
calamus et juncus marcescet.

KJV ⁷ The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.

LSG ⁷ Ce ne sera que nudité le long du fleuve, à l'embouchure du fleuve ; Tout ce qui aura été semé près du fleuve se desséchera, Se réduira en poussière et périra.

KJV ⁸ The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.

LSG ⁸ Les pêcheurs gémiront, Tous ceux qui jettent l'hameçon dans le fleuve se lamenteront, Et ceux qui étendent des filets sur les eaux seront désolés.

VULC ⁸ Et mœrebunt piscatores,
et lugebunt omnes mittentes in flumen hamum ;
et expandentes rete super faciem aquarum emarcescent.

KJV ⁹ Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.

KJV ¹⁰ And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

KJV ¹¹ Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

KJV ¹² Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.

KJV ¹³ The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

KJV ¹⁴ The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.

KJV ¹⁵ Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

KJV ¹⁷ And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.

a facie consilii Domini exercituum,
quod ipse cogitavit super eam.

KJV ¹⁸ In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

LSG ¹⁸ En ce temps-là, il y aura cinq villes au pays d'Égypte, Qui parleront la langue de Canaan, Et qui jureront par l'Éternel des armées: L'une d'elles sera appelée ville de la destruction.

loquentes lingua Chanaan,
et jurantes per Dominum exercituum :
Civitas solis vocabitur una.

KJV ¹⁹ In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

KJV ²⁰ And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

LSG ²⁰ Ce sera pour l'Éternel des armées un signe et un témoignage Dans le pays d'Égypte ; Ils crieront à l'Éternel à cause des oppresseurs, Et il leur enverra un sauveur et un défenseur pour les délivrer.

VULC ²⁰ Erit in signum et in testimonium Domino exercituum
in terra Ægypti ;
clamabunt enim ad Dominum a facie tribulationis,
et mittet eis salvatorem
et propugnatorem qui liberet eos.

KJV ²¹ And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.

LSG ²¹ Et l'Éternel sera connu des Égyptiens, Et les Égyptiens connaîtront l'Éternel en ce jour-là ; Ils feront des sacrifices et des offrandes, Ils feront des voeux à l'Éternel et les accompliront.

et cognoscent Ægyptii Dominum
in die illa ;
et colent eum in hostiis et in muneribus ;
et vota vovebunt Domino, et solvent.

KJV ²² And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.

LSG ²² Ainsi l'Éternel frappera les Égyptiens, Il les frappera, mais il les guérira ; Et ils se convertiront à l'Éternel, Qui les exaucera et les guérira.

VULC ²² Et percutiet Dominus Ægyptum plaga,
et sanabit eam ;
et revertentur ad Dominum,
et placabitur eis, et sanabit eos.

KJV ²³ In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

LSG ²³ En ce même temps, il y aura une route d'Égypte en Assyrie: Les Assyriens iront en Égypte, et les Égyptiens en Assyrie, Et les Égyptiens avec les Assyriens serviront l'Éternel.

VULC ²³ In die illa erit via
de Ægypto in Assyrios ;
et intrabit Assyrius Ægyptum,
et Ægyptius in Assyrios,
et servient Ægyptii Assur.

KJV ²⁴ In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:

LSG ²⁴ En ce même temps, Israël sera, lui troisième, Uni à l'Égypte et à l'Assyrie, Et ces pays seront l'objet d'une bénédiction.

VULC ²⁴ In die illa erit Israël tertius
Ægyptio et Assyrio ;
benedictio in medio terræ

KJV ²⁵ Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
