BAN ² Ouvrez les portes ; laissez entrer la nation juste et qui garde la fidélité !

KJV ² Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

BAN ³ Au coeur constant tu assures la paix, la paix, parce qu'il se confie en toi.

KJV ³ Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

VULC ³ Vetus error abiit : servabis pacem ;
pacem, quia in te speravimus.

BAN ⁴ Confiez-vous en l'Eternel à perpétuité ; car l'Eternel, l'Eternel, est le rocher des siècles !

BAN ⁵ Car il a humilié ceux qui trônaient bien haut ; il abaisse la ville élevée, il l'abaisse jusqu'en terre, il lui fait toucher la poussière ;

KJV ⁵ For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

civitatem sublimem humiliabit :

BAN ⁶ elle est foulée aux pieds, sous les pieds des humbles, sous les pas des misérables !

KJV ⁶ The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

pedes pauperis, gressus egenorum.

BAN ⁷ Le chemin du juste est uni ; tu aplanis parfaitement la voie du juste.

KJV ⁷ The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

BAN ⁸ Aussi t'avons-nous attendu, ô Eternel, sur le sentier de tes jugements ; ton nom et ton souvenir étaient tout le désir de nos âmes.

KJV ⁸ Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

BAN ¹⁰ Fait-on grâce au méchant, il n'apprend pas la justice ; au pays de la droiture il agira en pervers, et il ne verra pas la majesté de l'Eternel.

KJV ¹⁰ Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

claude ostia tua super te,

BAN ²¹ Car voici, l'Eternel sort de sa résidence pour visiter l'iniquité des habitants de la terre, et la terre découvrira le sang qu'elle a bu et ne cachera plus ses tués !

KJV ²¹ For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
