KJV ¹ In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

MAR ¹ En ces jours-là Ezéchias fut malade à la mort, et Esaïe le Prophète fils d'Amots vint vers lui, et lui dit ; ainsi a dit l'Eternel ; dispose de ta maison, car tu t'en vas mourir, et tu ne vivras plus.

VULC ¹ In diebus illis ægrotavit Ezechias usque ad mortem ; et introivit ad eum Isaias, filius Amos, propheta, et dixit ei : Hæc dicit Dominus : Dispone domui tuæ, quia morieris tu, et non vives.

WLC ¹ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם חָלָ֥ה חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ לָמ֑וּת וַיָּב֣וֹא אֵ֠לָיו יְשַׁעְיָ֨הוּ בֶן־ אָמ֜וֹץ הַנָּבִ֗יא וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ צַ֣ו לְבֵיתֶ֔ךָ כִּ֛י מֵ֥ת אַתָּ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִֽחְיֶֽה׃

KJV ² Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

MAR ² Alors Ezéchias tourna sa face contre la muraille, et fit sa prière à l'Eternel.

VULC ² Et convertit Ezechias faciem suam ad parietem, et oravit ad Dominum,

WLC ² וַיַּסֵּ֧ב חִזְקִיָּ֛הוּ פָּנָ֖יו אֶל־ הַקִּ֑יר וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³ And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

MAR ³ Et dit ; souviens-toi maintenant je te prie, ô Eternel ! comment j'ai marché devant toi en vérité et en intégrité de cœur, et comment j'ai fait ce qui t'était agréable ; et Ezéchias pleura abondamment.

VULC ³ et dixit : Obsecro, Domine, memento, quæso, quomodo ambulaverim coram te in veritate et in corde perfecto, et quod bonum est in oculis tuis fecerim. Et flevit Ezechias fletu magno.

WLC ³ וַיֹּאמַ֗ר אָנָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ זְכָר־ נָ֞א אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֧ר הִתְהַלַּ֣כְתִּי לְפָנֶ֗יךָ בֶּֽאֱמֶת֙ וּבְלֵ֣ב שָׁלֵ֔ם וְהַטּ֥וֹב בְּעֵינֶ֖יךָ עָשִׂ֑יתִי וַיֵּ֥בְךְּ חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ בְּכִ֥י גָדֽוֹל׃

KJV ⁴ Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,

MAR ⁴ Or la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Esaïe, en disant ;

VULC ⁴ Et factum est verbum Domini ad Isaiam, dicens :

WLC ⁴ וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽל־ יְשַׁעְיָ֖הוּ לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ⁵ Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

MAR ⁵ Va, et dis à Ezéchias ainsi a dit l'Eternel, le Dieu de David ton père ; j'ai exaucé ta prière, j'ai vu tes larmes ; voici, je m'en vais ajouter quinze années à tes jours.

VULC ⁵ Vade, et dic Ezechiæ : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus David patris tui : Audivi orationem tuam, et vidi lacrimas tuas ; ecce ego adjiciam super dies tuos quindecim annos,

WLC ⁵ הָל֞וֹךְ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֶל־ חִזְקִיָּ֗הוּ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵי֙ דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֔יךָ שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ אֶת־ תְּפִלָּתֶ֔ךָ רָאִ֖יתִי אֶת־ דִּמְעָתֶ֑ךָ הִנְנִי֙ יוֹסִ֣ף עַל־ יָמֶ֔יךָ חֲמֵ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה שָׁנָֽה׃

KJV ⁶ And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

MAR ⁶ Et je te délivrerai de la main du Roi des Assyriens, toi et cette ville, et je garantirai cette ville.

VULC ⁶ et de manu regis Assyriorum eruam te, et civitatem istam, et protegam eam.

WLC ⁶ וּמִכַּ֤ף מֶֽלֶךְ־ אַשּׁוּר֙ אַצִּ֣ילְךָ֔ וְאֵ֖ת הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וְגַנּוֹתִ֖י עַל־ הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּֽאת׃

KJV ⁷ And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;

MAR ⁷ Et ce signe t'est donné par l'Eternel, [pour faire voir] que l'Eternel accomplira cette parole qu'il a prononcée ;

VULC ⁷ Hoc autem tibi erit signum a Domino, quia faciet Dominus verbum hoc quod locutus est :

WLC ⁷ וְזֶה־ לְּךָ֥ הָא֖וֹת מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר֙ יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃

KJV ⁸ Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

MAR ⁸ Voici, je m'en vais faire retourner l'ombre des degrés par lesquels elle est descendue au cadran d'Achaz, de dix degrés en arrière avec le soleil ; et le soleil retourna de dix degrés par les degrés par lesquels il était descendu.

VULC ⁸ ecce ego reverti faciam umbram linearum per quas descenderat in horologio Achaz in sole, retrorsum decem lineis. Et reversus est sol decem lineis per gradus quos descenderat.

KJV ⁹ The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

MAR ⁹ Or c'est ici l'Ecrit d'Ezéchias Roi de Juda, touchant ce qu'il fut malade, et qu'il fut guéri de sa maladie.

VULC ⁹ Scriptura Ezechiæ, regis Juda, cum ægrotasset et convaluisset de infirmitate sua.

WLC ⁹ מִכְתָּ֖ב לְחִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־ יְהוּדָ֑ה בַּחֲלֹת֕וֹ וַיְחִ֖י מֵחָלְיֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁰ I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

MAR ¹⁰ J'avais dit dans le retranchement de mes jours ; je m'en irai aux portes du sépulcre, je suis privé de ce qui restait de mes années.

VULC ¹⁰ [Ego dixi in dimidio dierum meorum :

KJV ¹¹ I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

MAR ¹¹ J'avais dit ; je ne contemplerai plus l'Eternel, l'Eternel, dans la terre des vivants ; je ne verrai plus personne avec les habitants du monde.

KJV ¹² Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

MAR ¹² Ma durée s'en est allée, et a été transportée d'avec moi, comme une cabane de berger ; j'ai tranché ma vie comme le tisserand [coupe sa toile] ; il me coupera dès les pesnes : du matin au soir tu m'auras enlevé.

VULC ¹² Generatio mea ablata est, et convoluta est a me,
quasi tabernaculum pastorum.
Præcisa est velut a texente vita mea ;
dum adhuc ordirer, succidit me :

KJV ¹³ I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

MAR ¹³ Je me proposais jusqu'au matin qu'il était comme un lion, qu'il briserait ainsi tous mes os ; du matin au soir tu m'auras enlevé.

VULC ¹³ Sperabam usque ad mane ;
quasi leo, sic contrivit omnia ossa mea :
de mane usque ad vesperam finies me.

WLC ¹³ שִׁוִּ֤יתִי עַד־ בֹּ֙קֶר֙ כָּֽאֲרִ֔י כֵּ֥ן יְשַׁבֵּ֖ר כָּל־ עַצְמוֹתָ֑י מִיּ֥וֹם עַד־ לַ֖יְלָה תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃

KJV ¹⁴ Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

MAR ¹⁴ Je grommelais comme la grue, et [comme] l'hirondelle ; je gémissais comme le pigeon ; mes yeux défaillaient à force de regarder en haut ; Seigneur, on me fait force, sois mon garant.

VULC ¹⁴ Sicut pullus hirundinis, sic clamabo ;
meditabor ut columba.
Attenuati sunt oculi mei, suspicientes in excelsum.
Domine, vim patior : responde pro me.

WLC ¹⁴ כְּס֤וּס עָגוּר֙ כֵּ֣ן אֲצַפְצֵ֔ף אֶהְגֶּ֖ה כַּיּוֹנָ֑ה דַּלּ֤וּ עֵינַי֙ לַמָּר֔וֹם אֲדֹנָ֖י עָֽשְׁקָה־ לִּ֥י עָרְבֵֽנִי׃

KJV ¹⁵ What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

MAR ¹⁵ Que dirai-je ? il m'a parlé ; et lui même l'a fait ; je m'en irai tout doucement, tous les ans de ma vie, dans l'amertume de mon âme.

KJV ¹⁶ O LORD, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.

KJV ¹⁷ Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

MAR ¹⁷ Voici, dans ma paix une grande amertume m'était survenue, mais tu as embrassé ma personne, afin qu'elle ne tombât point dans la fosse de la pourriture ; parce que tu as jeté tous mes péchés derrière ton dos.

KJV ¹⁸ For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

KJV ¹⁹ The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

KJV ²¹ For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.

MAR ²¹ Or Esaïe avait dit ; qu'on prenne une masse de figues sèches, et qu'on en fasse une emplâtre sur l'ulcère, et il guérira.

VULC ²¹ Et jussit Isaias ut tollerent massam de ficis, et cataplasmarent super vulnus, et sanaretur.

KJV ²² Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?

MAR ²² Et Ezéchias avait dit ; quel est le signe que je monterai en la maison de l'Eternel ?

VULC ²² Et dixit Ezechias : Quod erit signum quia ascendam in domum Domini ?

WLC ²² וַיֹּ֥אמֶר חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ מָ֣ה א֑וֹת כִּ֥י אֶעֱלֶ֖ה בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
