KJV ¹ In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

OST ¹ En ce temps-là, Ézéchias fut malade à la mort; et le prophète Ésaïe, fils d'Amots, vint vers lui et lui dit: Ainsi a dit l'Éternel: mets ordre à ta maison, car tu vas mourir, et tu ne vivras plus.

WLC ¹ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם חָלָ֥ה חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ לָמ֑וּת וַיָּב֣וֹא אֵ֠לָיו יְשַׁעְיָ֨הוּ בֶן־ אָמ֜וֹץ הַנָּבִ֗יא וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ צַ֣ו לְבֵיתֶ֔ךָ כִּ֛י מֵ֥ת אַתָּ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִֽחְיֶֽה׃

KJV ² Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

OST ² Alors Ézéchias tourna son visage contre la muraille et pria l'Éternel,

WLC ² וַיַּסֵּ֧ב חִזְקִיָּ֛הוּ פָּנָ֖יו אֶל־ הַקִּ֑יר וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³ And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

OST ³ Et il dit: O Éternel, souviens-toi que j'ai marché devant ta face avec fidélité et intégrité de coeur, et que j'ai fait ce qui est agréable à tes yeux! Et Ézéchias répandit beaucoup de larmes.

WLC ³ וַיֹּאמַ֗ר אָנָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ זְכָר־ נָ֞א אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֧ר הִתְהַלַּ֣כְתִּי לְפָנֶ֗יךָ בֶּֽאֱמֶת֙ וּבְלֵ֣ב שָׁלֵ֔ם וְהַטּ֥וֹב בְּעֵינֶ֖יךָ עָשִׂ֑יתִי וַיֵּ֥בְךְּ חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ בְּכִ֥י גָדֽוֹל׃

KJV ⁴ Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,

OST ⁴ Alors la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Ésaïe, en ces mots:

WLC ⁴ וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽל־ יְשַׁעְיָ֖הוּ לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ⁵ Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

OST ⁵ Va, et dis à Ézéchias: Ainsi a dit l'Éternel, le Dieu de David, ton père: j'ai entendu ta prière, j'ai vu tes larmes; voici, je vais ajouter quinze années à tes jours.

WLC ⁵ הָל֞וֹךְ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֶל־ חִזְקִיָּ֗הוּ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵי֙ דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֔יךָ שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ אֶת־ תְּפִלָּתֶ֔ךָ רָאִ֖יתִי אֶת־ דִּמְעָתֶ֑ךָ הִנְנִי֙ יוֹסִ֣ף עַל־ יָמֶ֔יךָ חֲמֵ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה שָׁנָֽה׃

KJV ⁶ And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

OST ⁶ Et je te délivrerai, toi et cette ville, de la main du roi d'Assyrie; je protégerai cette ville.

WLC ⁶ וּמִכַּ֤ף מֶֽלֶךְ־ אַשּׁוּר֙ אַצִּ֣ילְךָ֔ וְאֵ֖ת הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וְגַנּוֹתִ֖י עַל־ הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּֽאת׃

KJV ⁷ And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;

OST ⁷ Et ceci te sera, de la part de l'Éternel, le signe que l'Éternel accomplira la parole qu'il a prononcée:

WLC ⁷ וְזֶה־ לְּךָ֥ הָא֖וֹת מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר֙ יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃

KJV ⁸ Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

OST ⁸ Voici, je ferai retourner l'ombre par les degrés qu'elle a déjà parcourus aux degrés d'Achaz, de dix degrés en arrière, avec le soleil. Et le soleil rétrograda de dix degrés par les degrés qu'il avait parcourus.

KJV ⁹ The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

OST ⁹ Cantique d'Ézéchias, roi de Juda, lorsqu'il fut malade et qu'il guérit de sa maladie.

WLC ⁹ מִכְתָּ֖ב לְחִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־ יְהוּדָ֑ה בַּחֲלֹת֕וֹ וַיְחִ֖י מֵחָלְיֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁰ I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

OST ¹⁰ Je disais: Quand mes jours sont tranquilles, je m'en vais aux portes du Sépulcre: je suis privé du reste de mes années!

WLC ¹⁰ אֲנִ֣י אָמַ֗רְתִּי בִּדְמִ֥י יָמַ֛י אֵלֵ֖כָה בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֣י שְׁא֑וֹל פֻּקַּ֖דְתִּי יֶ֥תֶר שְׁנוֹתָֽי׃

KJV ¹¹ I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

OST ¹¹ Je disais: Je ne verrai plus l'Éternel, l'Éternel dans la terre des vivants. Je ne verrai plus aucun homme parmi les habitants du monde.

WLC ¹¹ אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ לֹא־ אֶרְאֶ֣ה יָ֔הּ יָ֖הּ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ הַחַיִּ֑ים לֹא־ אַבִּ֥יט אָדָ֛ם ע֖וֹד עִם־ י֥וֹשְׁבֵי חָֽדֶל׃

KJV ¹² Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

OST ¹² Ma durée est enlevée; elle est transportée loin de moi comme une tente de berger. Ma vie est coupée; je suis retranché comme la toile que le tisserand détache de la trame. Du matin au soir tu m'auras enlevé!

WLC ¹² דּוֹרִ֗י נִסַּ֧ע וְנִגְלָ֛ה מִנִּ֖י כְּאֹ֣הֶל רֹעִ֑י קִפַּ֨דְתִּי כָאֹרֵ֤ג חַיַּי֙ מִדַּלָּ֣ה יְבַצְּעֵ֔נִי מִיּ֥וֹם עַד־ לַ֖יְלָה תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃

KJV ¹³ I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

OST ¹³ Je pensais en moi-même jusqu'au matin: Comme un lion, il brisera tous mes os. Du matin au soir tu m'auras enlevé!

WLC ¹³ שִׁוִּ֤יתִי עַד־ בֹּ֙קֶר֙ כָּֽאֲרִ֔י כֵּ֥ן יְשַׁבֵּ֖ר כָּל־ עַצְמוֹתָ֑י מִיּ֥וֹם עַד־ לַ֖יְלָה תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃

KJV ¹⁴ Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

OST ¹⁴ Je murmurais comme la grue et l'hirondelle; je gémissais comme la colombe. Mes yeux se lassaient à regarder en haut: Éternel, je suis en détresse, garantis-moi!

WLC ¹⁴ כְּס֤וּס עָגוּר֙ כֵּ֣ן אֲצַפְצֵ֔ף אֶהְגֶּ֖ה כַּיּוֹנָ֑ה דַּלּ֤וּ עֵינַי֙ לַמָּר֔וֹם אֲדֹנָ֖י עָֽשְׁקָה־ לִּ֥י עָרְבֵֽנִי׃

KJV ¹⁵ What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

OST ¹⁵ Que dirai-je? Il m'a parlé, et c'est lui qui l'a fait. Je marcherai humblement tout le reste de mes années, à cause de l'amertume de mon âme.

WLC ¹⁵ מָֽה־ אֲדַבֵּ֥ר וְאָֽמַר־ לִ֖י וְה֣וּא עָשָׂ֑ה אֶדַּדֶּ֥ה כָל־ שְׁנוֹתַ֖י עַל־ מַ֥ר נַפְשִֽׁי׃

KJV ¹⁶ O LORD, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.

OST ¹⁶ Seigneur, c'est par là qu'on a la vie, c'est là tout ce qui fait la vie de mon âme! Tu me guéris, tu me rends la vie.

KJV ¹⁷ Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

OST ¹⁷ Voici, ma grande amertume est changée en prospérité; tu as retiré mon âme de la fosse de destruction; car tu as jeté tous mes péchés derrière ton dos.

WLC ¹⁷ הִנֵּ֥ה לְשָׁל֖וֹם מַר־ לִ֣י מָ֑ר וְאַתָּ֞ה חָשַׁ֤קְתָּ נַפְשִׁי֙ מִשַּׁ֣חַת בְּלִ֔י כִּ֥י הִשְׁלַ֛כְתָּ אַחֲרֵ֥י גֵוְךָ֖ כָּל־ חֲטָאָֽי׃

KJV ¹⁸ For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

OST ¹⁸ Le Sépulcre ne te louera point, la mort ne te célébrera point; ceux qui descendent au tombeau ne s'attendent plus à ta fidélité.

WLC ¹⁸ כִּ֣י לֹ֥א שְׁא֛וֹל תּוֹדֶ֖ךָּ מָ֣וֶת יְהַלְלֶ֑ךָּ לֹֽא־ יְשַׂבְּר֥וּ יֽוֹרְדֵי־ ב֖וֹר אֶל־ אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃

KJV ¹⁹ The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

OST ¹⁹ Mais le vivant, le vivant te célébrera, comme je fais aujourd'hui; le père fera connaître aux enfants ta fidélité.

WLC ¹⁹ חַ֥י חַ֛י ה֥וּא יוֹדֶ֖ךָ כָּמ֣וֹנִי הַיּ֑וֹם אָ֣ב לְבָנִ֔ים יוֹדִ֖יעַ אֶל־ אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃

KJV ²⁰ The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.

OST ²⁰ L'Éternel est mon libérateur! Nous ferons résonner nos cantiques, tous les jours de notre vie, dans la maison de l'Éternel.

WLC ²⁰ יְהוָ֖ה לְהוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי וּנְגִנוֹתַ֧י נְנַגֵּ֛ן כָּל־ יְמֵ֥י חַיֵּ֖ינוּ עַל־ בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ²¹ For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.

OST ²¹ Or Ésaïe avait dit: Qu'on prenne une masse de figues, et qu'on l'étende sur l'ulcère, et il guérira.

WLC ²¹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְשַׁעְיָ֔הוּ יִשְׂא֖וּ דְּבֶ֣לֶת תְּאֵנִ֑ים וְיִמְרְח֥וּ עַֽל־ הַשְּׁחִ֖ין וְיֶֽחִי׃

KJV ²² Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?

OST ²² Et Ézéchias dit: Quel signe aurai-je, que je monterai à la maison de l'Éternel?

WLC ²² וַיֹּ֥אמֶר חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ מָ֣ה א֑וֹת כִּ֥י אֶעֱלֶ֖ה בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
