BAN ² Et je pris avec moi des témoins dignes de foi, Urie, le sacrificateur, et Zacharie, fils de Jebéréchia.

KJV ² And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

BAN ³ Et je m'approchai de la prophétesse, et elle conçut et enfanta un fils. Et l'Eternel me dit : Appelle-le Maherschalal-Chaschbaz.

BAN ⁴ Car avant que l'enfant sache crier : Mon père, ma mère ! on portera les richesses de Damas et le butin de Samarie devant le roi d'Assyrie.

KJV ⁴ For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

BAN ⁵ Et l'Eternel me parla encore disant :

WLC ⁵ וַיֹּ֣סֶף יְהוָ֔ה דַּבֵּ֥ר אֵלַ֛י ע֖וֹד לֵאמֹֽר׃

BAN ⁶ Puisque ce peuple a méprisé les eaux de Siloé qui coulent doucement, et qu'il se réjouit au sujet de Retsin et du fils de Rémalia,

KJV ⁶ Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;

VULC ⁶ [Pro eo quod abjecit populus iste
aquas Siloë, quæ vadunt cum silentio,
et assumpsit magis Rasin,
et filium Romeliæ :

WLC ⁶ יַ֗עַן כִּ֤י מָאַס֙ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֵ֚ת מֵ֣י הַשִּׁלֹ֔חַ הַהֹלְכִ֖ים לְאַ֑ט וּמְשׂ֥וֹשׂ אֶת־ רְצִ֖ין וּבֶן־ רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃

BAN ⁷ cause de cela, voici, le Seigneur va faire venir sur eux les eaux du fleuve, fortes et grandes, le roi d'Assyrie et toute sa puissance ; et il s'élèvera partout au-dessus de son lit et se répandra par dessus tous ses bords,

BAN ⁸ et il pénétrera en Juda, il débordera, il inondera, il montera jusqu'au cou ; et le déploiement de ses ailes couvrira toute la largeur de ton pays, ô Emmanuel !

KJV ⁸ And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

WLC ¹¹ כִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֵלַ֖י כְּחֶזְקַ֣ת הַיָּ֑ד וְיִסְּרֵ֕נִי מִלֶּ֛כֶת בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ הָֽעָם־ הַזֶּ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

BAN ¹² N'appelez pas conjuration tout ce que ce peuple appelle conjuration ; ne craignez point ce qu'il craint, et ne vous effrayez pas.

KJV ¹² Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

BAN ¹³ L'Eternel des armées, c'est lui que vous sanctifierez ; c'est lui qui sera votre crainte et votre frayeur !

KJV ¹⁴ And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

BAN ¹⁵ Et beaucoup parmi eux trébucheront et tomberont et se briseront ; ils seront enlacés et seront pris.

BAN ¹⁷ Je m'attends à l'Eternel, qui cache sa face à la maison de Jacob, et j'espère en lui.

BAN ¹⁸ Voici, moi et les enfants que l'Eternel m'a donnés, nous sommes signes et présages en Israël, de la part de l'Eternel des armées, qui habite sur la montagne de Sion.

BAN ¹⁹ Quand ils vous diront : Consultez ceux qui évoquent les morts, et les devins, qui marmottent et qui chuchotent : un peuple ne consultera-t-il pas son Dieu ? S'adressera-t-il aux morts pour les vivants ?

KJV ¹⁹ And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

BAN ²⁰ A la loi et au témoignage ! S'ils ne parlent point ainsi, eux pour lesquels il n'y a point d'aurore,

KJV ²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

KJV ²¹ And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

BAN ²² et il regardera vers la terre ; et voici, il n'y aura que détresse, obscurité, sombre angoisse ; il sera rejeté dans les ténèbres.

KJV ²² And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

VULC ²² et ad terram intuebitur ;
et ecce tribulatio et tenebræ,
dissolutio et angustia,
et caligo persequens,
et non poterit avolare de angustia sua.]

WLC ²² וְאֶל־ אֶ֖רֶץ יַבִּ֑יט וְהִנֵּ֨ה צָרָ֤ה וַחֲשֵׁכָה֙ מְע֣וּף צוּקָ֔ה וַאֲפֵלָ֖ה מְנֻדָּֽח׃

BAN ²³ Car il n'y a plus de ténèbres pour la terre qui a été dans l'angoisse ; comme le premier temps a couvert d'opprobre le pays de Zabulon et le pays de Nephthali, le dernier temps remplira de gloire le chemin de la mer, la contrée d'au-delà du Jourdain, le district des Gentils.

WLC ²³ כִּ֣י לֹ֣א מוּעָף֮ לַאֲשֶׁ֣ר מוּצָ֣ק לָהּ֒ כָּעֵ֣ת הָרִאשׁ֗וֹן הֵקַ֞ל אַ֤רְצָה זְבֻלוּן֙ וְאַ֣רְצָה נַפְתָּלִ֔י וְהָאַחֲר֖וֹן הִכְבִּ֑יד דֶּ֤רֶךְ הַיָּם֙ עֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן גְּלִ֖יל הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
