KJV ² Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

NEG ² Parle aux enfants d'Israël; qu'ils se détournent, et qu'ils campent devant Pi-Hahiroth, entre Migdol et la mer, vis-à-vis de Baal-Tsephon; c'est en face de ce lieu que vous camperez, près de la mer.

VULC ² Loquere filiis Israël : Reversi castrametentur e regione Phihahiroth, quæ est inter Magdalum et mare contra Beelsephon : in conspectu ejus castra ponetis super mare.

KJV ³ For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

NEG ³ Pharaon dira des enfants d'Israël: Ils sont égarés dans le pays; le désert les enferme.

VULC ³ Dicturusque est Pharao super filiis Israël : Coarctati sunt in terra ; conclusit eos desertum.

KJV ⁴ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

NEG ⁴ J'endurcirai le cœur de Pharaon, et il les poursuivra; mais Pharaon et toute son armée serviront à faire éclater ma gloire, et les Egyptiens sauront que je suis l'Eternel. Et les enfants d'Israël firent ainsi.

VULC ⁴ Et indurabo cor ejus, ac persequetur vos : et glorificabor in Pharaone, et in omni exercitu ejus ; scientque Ægyptii quia ego sum Dominus. Feceruntque ita.

KJV ⁵ And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

NEG ⁵ On annonça au roi d'Egypte que le peuple avait pris la fuite. Alors le cœur de Pharaon et celui de ses serviteurs furent changés à l'égard du peuple. Ils dirent: Qu'avons-nous fait, en laissant aller Israël, dont nous n'aurons plus les services?

VULC ⁵ Et nuntiatum est regi Ægyptiorum quod fugisset populus : immutatumque est cor Pharaonis et servorum ejus super populo, et dixerunt : Quid voluimus facere ut dimitteremus Israël, ne serviret nobis ?

KJV ⁶ And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

NEG ⁶ Et Pharaon attela son char, et il prit son peuple avec lui.

VULC ⁶ Junxit ergo currum, et omnem populum suum assumpsit secum.

KJV ⁷ And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

VULC ⁷ Tulitque sexcentos currus electos, et quidquid in Ægypto curruum fuit : et duces totius exercitus.

KJV ⁸ And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

NEG ⁸ L'Eternel endurcit le cœur de Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, et Pharaon poursuivit les enfants d'Israël. Les enfants d'Israël étaient sortis la main levée.

VULC ⁸ Induravitque Dominus cor Pharaonis regis Ægypti, et persecutus est filios Israël : at illi egressi sunt in manu excelsa.

KJV ⁹ But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

NEG ⁹ Les Egyptiens les poursuivirent; et tous les chevaux, les chars de Pharaon, ses cavaliers et son armée, les atteignirent campés près de la mer, vers Pi-Hahiroth, vis-à-vis de Baal-Tsephon.

VULC ⁹ Cumque persequerentur Ægyptii vestigia præcedentium, repererunt eos in castris super mare : omnis equitatus et currus Pharaonis, et universus exercitus, erant in Phihahiroth contra Beelsephon.

KJV ¹⁰ And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

NEG ¹⁰ Pharaon approchait. Les enfants d'Israël levèrent les yeux, et voici, les Egyptiens étaient en marche derrière eux. Et les enfants d'Israël eurent une grande frayeur, et crièrent à l'Eternel.

VULC ¹⁰ Cumque appropinquasset Pharao, levantes filii Israël oculos, viderunt Ægyptios post se, et timuerunt valde : clamaveruntque ad Dominum,

KJV ¹¹ And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

NEG ¹¹ Ils dirent à Moïse: N'y avait-il pas des sépulcres en Egypte, sans qu'il soit besoin de nous mener mourir au désert? Que nous as-tu fait en nous faisant sortir d'Egypte?

VULC ¹¹ et dixerunt ad Moysen : Forsitan non erant sepulchra in Ægypto, ideo tulisti nos ut moreremur in solitudine : quid hoc facere voluisti, ut educeres nos ex Ægypto ?

KJV ¹² Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

NEG ¹² N'est-ce pas là ce que nous te disions en Egypte: Laisse-nous servir les Egyptiens, car nous aimons mieux servir les Egyptiens que de mourir au désert?

VULC ¹² nonne iste est sermo, quem loquebamur ad te in Ægypto, dicentes : Recede a nobis, ut serviamus Ægyptiis ? multo enim melius erat servire eis, quam mori in solitudine.

KJV ¹³ And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

NEG ¹³ Moïse répondit au peuple: Ne craignez rien, restez en place, et regardez la délivrance que l'Eternel va vous accorder en ce jour; car les Egyptiens que vous voyez aujourd'hui, vous ne les verrez plus jamais.

VULC ¹³ Et ait Moyses ad populum : Nolite timere : state, et videte magnalia Domini quæ facturus est hodie : Ægyptios enim, quos nunc videtis, nequaquam ultra videbitis usque in sempiternum.

KJV ¹⁴ The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

KJV ¹⁵ And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

KJV ¹⁶ But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

NEG ¹⁶ Toi, lève ta verge, étends ta main sur la mer, et fends-la; et les enfants d'Israël entreront au milieu de la mer à sec.

VULC ¹⁶ Tu autem eleva virgam tuam, et extende manum tuam super mare, et divide illud : ut gradiantur filii Israël in medio mari per siccum.

KJV ¹⁷ And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

NEG ¹⁷ Et moi, je vais endurcir le cœur des Egyptiens, pour qu'ils y entrent après eux; et Pharaon et toute son armée, ses chars et ses cavaliers, feront éclater ma gloire.

VULC ¹⁷ Ego autem indurabo cor Ægyptiorum ut persequantur vos : et glorificabor in Pharaone, et in omni exercitu ejus, et in curribus et in equitibus illius.

KJV ¹⁸ And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

NEG ¹⁸ Et les Egyptiens sauront que je suis l'Eternel, quand Pharaon, ses chars et ses cavaliers, auront fait éclater ma gloire.

VULC ¹⁸ Et scient Ægyptii quia ego sum Dominus cum glorificatus fuero in Pharaone, et in curribus atque in equitibus ejus.

KJV ¹⁹ And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

KJV ²⁰ And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

NEG ²⁰ Elle se plaça entre le camp des Egyptiens et le camp d'Israël. Cette nuée était ténébreuse d'un côté, et de l'autre elle éclairait la nuit. Et les deux camps n'approchèrent point l'un de l'autre pendant toute la nuit.

VULC ²⁰ stetit, inter castra Ægyptiorum et castra Israël : et erat nubes tenebrosa, et illuminans noctem, ita ut ad se invicem toto noctis tempore accedere non valerent.

KJV ²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

NEG ²¹ Moïse étendit sa main sur la mer. Et l'Eternel refoula la mer par un vent d'orient, qui souffla avec impétuosité toute la nuit; il mit la mer à sec, et les eaux se fendirent.

VULC ²¹ Cumque extendisset Moyses manum super mare, abstulit illud Dominus flante vento vehementi et urente tota nocte, et vertit in siccum : divisaque est aqua.

KJV ²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

NEG ²² Les enfants d'Israël entrèrent au milieu de la mer à sec, et les eaux formaient comme une muraille à leur droite et à leur gauche.

VULC ²² Et ingressi sunt filii Israël per medium sicci maris : erat enim aqua quasi murus a dextra eorum et læva.

KJV ²³ And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

NEG ²³ Les Egyptiens les poursuivirent; et tous les chevaux de Pharaon, ses chars et ses cavaliers, entrèrent après eux au milieu de la mer.

VULC ²³ Persequentesque Ægyptii ingressi sunt post eos, et omnis equitatus Pharaonis, currus ejus et equites per medium maris.

KJV ²⁴ And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

NEG ²⁴ A la veille du matin, l'Eternel, de la colonne de feu et de nuée, regarda le camp des Egyptiens, et mit en désordre le camp des Egyptiens.

VULC ²⁴ Jamque advenerat vigilia matutina, et ecce respiciens Dominus super castra Ægyptiorum per columnam ignis et nubis, interfecit exercitum eorum,

KJV ²⁵ And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

NEG ²⁵ Il ôta les roues de leurs chars et en rendit la marche difficile. Les Egyptiens dirent alors: Fuyons devant Israël, car l'Eternel combat pour lui contre les Egyptiens.

VULC ²⁵ et subvertit rotas curruum, ferebanturque in profundum. Dixerunt ergo Ægyptii : Fugiamus Israëlem : Dominus enim pugnat pro eis contra nos.

KJV ²⁶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

NEG ²⁶ L'Eternel dit à Moïse: Etends ta main sur la mer; et les eaux reviendront sur les Egyptiens, sur leurs chars et sur leurs cavaliers.

VULC ²⁶ Et ait Dominus ad Moysen : Extende manum tuam super mare, ut revertantur aquæ ad Ægyptios super currus et equites eorum.

KJV ²⁷ And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

NEG ²⁷ Moïse étendit sa main sur la mer. Et vers le matin, la mer reprit son impétuosité, et les Egyptiens s'enfuirent à son approche; mais l'Eternel précipita les Egyptiens au milieu de la mer.

VULC ²⁷ Cumque extendisset Moyses manum contra mare, reversum est primo diluculo ad priorem locum : fugientibusque Ægyptiis occurrerunt aquæ, et involvit eos Dominus in mediis fluctibus.

KJV ²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

NEG ²⁸ Les eaux revinrent, et couvrirent les chars, les cavaliers et toute l'armée de Pharaon, qui étaient entrés dans la mer après les enfants d'Israël; et il n'en échappa pas un seul.

VULC ²⁸ Reversæque sunt aquæ, et operuerunt currus et equites cuncti exercitus Pharaonis, qui sequentes ingressi fuerant mare : nec unus quidem superfuit ex eis.

KJV ²⁹ But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

NEG ²⁹ Mais les enfants d'Israël marchèrent à sec au milieu de la mer, et les eaux formaient comme une muraille à leur droite et à leur gauche.

VULC ²⁹ Filii autem Israël perrexerunt per medium sicci maris, et aquæ eis erant quasi pro muro a dextris et a sinistris :

KJV ³⁰ Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

NEG ³⁰ En ce jour, l'Eternel délivra Israël de la main des Egyptiens; et Israël vit sur le rivage de la mer les Egyptiens qui étaient morts.

VULC ³⁰ liberavitque Dominus in die illa Israël de manu Ægyptiorum.

KJV ³¹ And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

NEG ³¹ Israël vit la main puissante que l'Eternel avait dirigée contre les Egyptiens. Et le peuple craignit l'Eternel, et il crut en l'Eternel et en Moïse, son serviteur.

VULC ³¹ Et viderunt Ægyptios mortuos super littus maris, et manum magnam quam exercuerat Dominus contra eos : timuitque populus Dominum, et crediderunt Domino, et Moysi servo ejus.
