BAN ¹ Et la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée en ces mots :

WLC ¹ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

BAN ² Fils d'homme ! Prophétise contre les prophètes d'Israël qui prophétisent et dis à ceux qui prophétisent de leur chef : Ecoutez la parole de l'Eternel :

KJV ² Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

WLC ² בֶּן־ אָדָ֕ם הִנָּבֵ֛א אֶל־ נְבִיאֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הַנִּבָּאִ֑ים וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ לִנְבִיאֵ֣י מִלִּבָּ֔ם שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־ יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ³ Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel : Malheur aux prophètes frivoles qui suivent leur propre inspiration et qui n'ont rien vu !

KJV ³ Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

WLC ³ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה ה֖וֹי עַל־ הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים הַנְּבָלִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֹלְכִ֛ים אַחַ֥ר רוּחָ֖ם וּלְבִלְתִּ֥י רָאֽוּ׃

BAN ⁴ Tels que des renards dans des ruines, tels ont été tes prophètes, ô Israël !

KJV ⁴ O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

WLC ⁴ כְּשֻׁעָלִ֖ים בָּחֳרָב֑וֹת נְבִיאֶ֥יךָ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הָיֽוּ׃

BAN ⁵ Vous, n'êtes pas montés aux brèches et vous n'avez pas élevé de rempart autour de la maison d'Israël, pour tenir bon dans la bataille au jour de l'Eternel.

KJV ⁵ Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

WLC ⁵ לֹ֤א עֲלִיתֶם֙ בַּפְּרָצ֔וֹת וַתִּגְדְּר֥וּ גָדֵ֖ר עַל־ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לַעֲמֹ֥ד בַּמִּלְחָמָ֖ה בְּי֥וֹם יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ⁶ Ils ont des visions vaines et des oracles menteurs, ceux qui disent : L'Eternel a dit ! mais que l'Eternel n'a point envoyés, et qui espèrent voir leur parole accomplie.

KJV ⁶ They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

WLC ⁶ חָ֤זוּ שָׁוְא֙ וְקֶ֣סֶם כָּזָ֔ב הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וַֽיהוָ֖ה לֹ֣א שְׁלָחָ֑ם וְיִֽחֲל֖וּ לְקַיֵּ֥ם דָּבָֽר׃

BAN ⁷ Ne sont-ce pas des visions vaines, que celles que vous avez, et des oracles menteurs que ceux que vous prononcez, quand vous dites : L'Eternel a dit ? Et moi, je n'ai point parlé !

KJV ⁷ Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

WLC ⁷ הֲל֤וֹא מַֽחֲזֵה־ שָׁוְא֙ חֲזִיתֶ֔ם וּמִקְסַ֥ם כָּזָ֖ב אֲמַרְתֶּ֑ם וְאֹֽמְרִים֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וַאֲנִ֖י לֹ֥א דִבַּֽרְתִּי׃

BAN ⁸ C'est pourquoi le Seigneur l'Eternel parle ainsi : Parce que vous dites des choses vaines et que vous avez des visions de mensonge, voici, votre tour va venir, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel ;

KJV ⁸ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.

WLC ⁸ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֚עַן דַּבֶּרְכֶ֣ם שָׁ֔וְא וַחֲזִיתֶ֖ם כָּזָ֑ב לָכֵן֙ הִנְנִ֣י אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

BAN ⁹ Et ma main sera sur les prophètes qui ont des visions vaines et des divinations mensongères. Ils ne siégeront pas dans le conseil de mon peuple ; ils ne seront pas inscrits dans le livre de la maison d'Israël et ils n'entreront pas dans le pays d'Israël, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur l'Eternel,

KJV ⁹ And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

WLC ⁹ וְהָיְתָ֣ה יָדִ֗י אֶֽל־ הַנְּבִיאִ֞ים הַחֹזִ֣ים שָׁוְא֮ וְהַקֹּסְמִ֣ים כָּזָב֒ בְּס֧וֹד עַמִּ֣י לֹֽא־ יִהְי֗וּ וּבִכְתָ֤ב בֵּֽית־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֹ֣א יִכָּתֵ֔בוּ וְאֶל־ אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹ֣א יָבֹ֑אוּ וִידַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּ֥י אֲנִ֖י אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

BAN ¹⁰ vu et attendu qu'ils ont égaré mon peuple, en disant : Paix ! quand il n'y avait point de paix. Celui-ci construit un mur et eux le plâtrent.

KJV ¹⁰ Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

WLC ¹⁰ יַ֣עַן וּבְיַ֜עַן הִטְע֧וּ אֶת־ עַמִּ֛י לֵאמֹ֥ר שָׁל֖וֹם וְאֵ֣ין שָׁל֑וֹם וְהוּא֙ בֹּ֣נֶה חַ֔יִץ וְהִנָּ֛ם טָחִ֥ים אֹת֖וֹ תָּפֵֽל׃

BAN ¹¹ Dis à ces gens qui plâtrent que le mur tombera. Une pluie débordante est venue... Tombez, grêlons ! Tempête, éclate !

KJV ¹¹ Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

WLC ¹¹ אֱמֹ֛ר אֶל־ טָחֵ֥י תָפֵ֖ל וְיִפֹּ֑ל הָיָ֣ה ׀ גֶּ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵ֗ף וְאַתֵּ֜נָה אַבְנֵ֤י אֶלְגָּבִישׁ֙ תִּפֹּ֔לְנָה וְר֥וּחַ סְעָר֖וֹת תְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃

BAN ¹² Et voici, le mur tombe, et ne vous dira-t-on pas : Où est le plâtre dont vous l'aviez couvert ?

KJV ¹² Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

WLC ¹² וְהִנֵּ֖ה נָפַ֣ל הַקִּ֑יר הֲלוֹא֙ יֵאָמֵ֣ר אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם אַיֵּ֥ה הַטִּ֖יחַ אֲשֶׁ֥ר טַחְתֶּֽם׃

BAN ¹³ C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur l'Eternel : Dans mon courroux je ferai éclater une tempête, et il viendra, par ma colère, une pluie débordante, et, par mon courroux, des grêlons pour exterminer.

KJV ¹³ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

WLC ¹³ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה וּבִקַּעְתִּ֥י רֽוּחַ־ סְעָר֖וֹת בַּֽחֲמָתִ֑י וְגֶ֤שֶׁם שֹׁטֵף֙ בְּאַפִּ֣י יִֽהְיֶ֔ה וְאַבְנֵ֥י אֶלְגָּבִ֖ישׁ בְּחֵמָ֥ה לְכָלָֽה׃

BAN ¹⁴ Et j'abattrai le mur que vous avez couvert de plâtre, je le renverserai à terre, et les fondements en seront découverts ; il tombera et vous périrez au milieu de ses décombres, et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.

KJV ¹⁴ So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

WLC ¹⁴ וְהָ֨רַסְתִּ֜י אֶת־ הַקִּ֨יר אֲשֶׁר־ טַחְתֶּ֥ם תָּפֵ֛ל וְהִגַּעְתִּ֥יהוּ אֶל־ הָאָ֖רֶץ וְנִגְלָ֣ה יְסֹד֑וֹ וְנָֽפְלָה֙ וּכְלִיתֶ֣ם בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ¹⁵ Et j'assouvirai ma colère contre le mur et contre ceux qui le couvrent de plâtre et je vous dirai : Plus de mur ! Plus de ces gens qui le replâtrent,

KJV ¹⁵ Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;

WLC ¹⁵ וְכִלֵּיתִ֤י אֶת־ חֲמָתִי֙ בַּקִּ֔יר וּבַטָּחִ֥ים אֹת֖וֹ תָּפֵ֑ל וְאֹמַ֤ר לָכֶם֙ אֵ֣ין הַקִּ֔יר וְאֵ֖ין הַטָּחִ֥ים אֹתֽוֹ׃

BAN ¹⁶ de ces prophètes d'Israël qui prophétisent sur Jérusalem et qui ont pour elle des visions de paix, quand il n'y a point de paix, a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel !

KJV ¹⁶ To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.

WLC ¹⁶ נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הַֽנִבְּאִים֙ אֶל־ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וְהַחֹזִ֥ים לָ֖הּ חֲז֣וֹן שָׁלֹ֑ם וְאֵ֣ין שָׁלֹ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהֹוִֽה׃

BAN ¹⁷ Et toi, fils d'homme, tourne ta face contre les filles de ton peuple qui font les prophétesses de leur propre chef, et prophétise contre elles.

KJV ¹⁷ Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

WLC ¹⁷ וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־ אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־ בְּנ֣וֹת עַמְּךָ֔ הַמִּֽתְנַבְּא֖וֹת מִֽלִּבְּהֶ֑ן וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עֲלֵיהֶֽן׃

BAN ¹⁸ Dis : Ainsi parle le Seigneur l'Eternel : Malheur à celles qui cousent des coussins pour toutes les jointures des bras et qui font des oreillers pour les têtes de toute hauteur, pour prendre les âmes au piège ! Vous prendriez au piège mon peuple, et vos âmes, à vous, vivraient !

KJV ¹⁸ And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?

WLC ¹⁸ וְאָמַרְתָּ֞ כֹּה־ אָמַ֣ר ׀ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה הוֹי֩ לִֽמְתַפְּר֨וֹת כְּסָת֜וֹת עַ֣ל ׀ כָּל־ אַצִּילֵ֣י יָדַ֗י וְעֹשׂ֧וֹת הַמִּסְפָּח֛וֹת עַל־ רֹ֥אשׁ כָּל־ קוֹמָ֖ה לְצוֹדֵ֣ד נְפָשׁ֑וֹת הַנְּפָשׁוֹת֙ תְּצוֹדֵ֣דְנָה לְעַמִּ֔י וּנְפָשׁ֖וֹת לָכֶ֥נָה תְחַיֶּֽינָה׃

BAN ¹⁹ Vous m'avez profané auprès de mon peuple pour des poignées d'orge et pour des morceaux de pain, faisant mourir des âmes qui ne mourront point et faisant vivre des âmes qui ne vivront point, en mentant à mon peuple qui écoute le mensonge.

KJV ¹⁹ And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

WLC ¹⁹ וַתְּחַלֶּלְ֨נָה אֹתִ֜י אֶל־ עַמִּ֗י בְּשַׁעֲלֵ֣י שְׂעֹרִים֮ וּבִפְת֣וֹתֵי לֶחֶם֒ לְהָמִ֤ית נְפָשׁוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־ תְמוּתֶ֔נָה וּלְחַיּ֥וֹת נְפָשׁ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־ תִֽחְיֶ֑ינָה בְּכַ֨זֶּבְכֶ֔ם לְעַמִּ֖י שֹׁמְעֵ֥י כָזָֽב׃

BAN ²⁰ C'est pourquoi le Seigneur l'Eternel parle ainsi : Voici, j'en veux à vos coussins par lesquels vous prenez les âmes au piège, et je les fais envoler ; et je déchire les coussins de dessus vos bras et je lâche les âmes que vous prendrez au piège, les âmes, afin qu'elles s'envolent.

KJV ²⁰ Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

WLC ²⁰ לָכֵ֞ן כֹּה־ אָמַ֣ר ׀ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה הִנְנִ֤י אֶל־ כִּסְּתוֹתֵיכֶ֙נָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַ֠תֵּנָה מְצֹדְד֨וֹת שָׁ֤ם אֶת־ הַנְּפָשׁוֹת֙ לְפֹ֣רְח֔וֹת וְקָרַעְתִּ֣י אֹתָ֔ם מֵעַ֖ל זְרוֹעֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי֙ אֶת־ הַנְּפָשׁ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם מְצֹדְד֥וֹת אֶת־ נְפָשִׁ֖ים לְפֹרְחֹֽת׃

BAN ²¹ Et je déchire vos oreillers et j'arrache mon peuple de vos mains, et ils ne seront plus une proie dans vos mains, et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel ;

KJV ²¹ Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

WLC ²¹ וְקָרַעְתִּ֞י אֶת־ מִסְפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם וְהִצַּלְתִּ֤י אֶת־ עַמִּי֙ מִיֶּדְכֶ֔ן וְלֹֽא־ יִהְי֥וּ ע֛וֹד בְּיֶדְכֶ֖ן לִמְצוּדָ֑ה וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ן כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ²² parce que vous contristez le coeur du juste par des mensonges, quand moi je ne l'ai point affligé, et que vous encouragez le méchant, en sorte qu'il ne se détourne pas de sa mauvaise voie pour obtenir la vie ;

KJV ²² Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

WLC ²² יַ֣עַן הַכְא֤וֹת לֵב־ צַדִּיק֙ שֶׁ֔קֶר וַאֲנִ֖י לֹ֣א הִכְאַבְתִּ֑יו וּלְחַזֵּק֙ יְדֵ֣י רָשָׁ֔ע לְבִלְתִּי־ שׁ֛וּב מִדַּרְכּ֥וֹ הָרָ֖ע לְהַחֲיֹתֽוֹ׃

BAN ²³ à cause de cela, vous n'aurez plus de visions vaines, ni aucune divination ; j'arracherai mon peuple de vos mains et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.

KJV ²³ Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

WLC ²³ לָכֵ֗ן שָׁ֚וְא לֹ֣א תֶחֱזֶ֔ינָה וְקֶ֖סֶם לֹא־ תִקְסַ֣מְנָה ע֑וֹד וְהִצַּלְתִּ֤י אֶת־ עַמִּי֙ מִיֶּדְכֶ֔ן וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ן כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
