BCC ³ « Fils de l'homme, ces gens-là ont dressé dans leur coeur leurs infâmes idoles, et ils mettent devant leur face le scandale qui les fait pécher : me laisserai-je interroger par eux ?

KJV ³ Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

VULC ³ Fili hominis, viri isti posuerunt immunditias suas in cordibus suis, et scandalum iniquitatis suæ statuerunt contra faciem suam : numquid interrogatus respondebo eis ?

BCC ⁴ C'est pourquoi parle-leur et dis-leur : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Quiconque de la maison d'Israël dresse en son coeur ses infâmes idoles et met devant sa face le scandale qui le fait pécher, s'il vient vers le prophète, moi, Yahweh, je lui répondrai par moi-même, comme le mérite la multitude de ses idoles,

KJV ⁴ Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;

VULC ⁴ Propter hoc loquere eis, et dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Homo, homo de domo Israël, qui posuerit immunditias suas in corde suo, et scandalum iniquitatis suæ statuerit contra faciem suam, et venerit ad prophetam interrogans per eum me : ego Dominus respondebo ei in multitudine immunditiarum suarum,

BCC ⁵ afin de prendre la maison d'Israël par son propre coeur, elle qui, avec toutes ses idoles infâmes, s'est détournée de moi.

KJV ⁵ That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

BCC ⁶ C'est pourquoi dis à la maison d'Israël : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Revenez et détournez-vous de vos idoles infâmes, et détournez votre face de toutes vos abominations.

KJV ⁶ Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

VULC ⁶ Propterea dic ad domum Israël : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Convertimini, et recedite ab idolis vestris, et ab universis contaminationibus vestris avertite facies vestras.

BCC ⁷ Car quiconque de la maison d'Israël ou des étrangers séjournant en Israël se détourne de moi, dresse dans son coeur ses infâmes idoles et met devant sa face le scandale qui le fait pécher, s'il vient vers le prophète afin qu'il m'interroge pour lui, moi Yahweh je lui répondrai moi-même.

KJV ⁷ For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

BCC ⁸ Je dirigerai ma face contre cet homme, je le détruirai pour faire de lui un signe et un proverbe ; je le retrancherai du milieu de mon peuple, et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

KJV ⁸ And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

BCC ⁹ Et si le prophète se laisse séduire et qu'il prononce quelque parole, c'est moi, Yahweh, qui aurai séduit ce prophète ; et j'étendrai ma main sur lui, et je l'exterminerai du milieu de mon peuple d'Israël.

KJV ⁹ And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

VULC ⁹ Et propheta cum erraverit, et locutus fuerit verbum, ego Dominus decepi prophetam illum, et extendam manum meam super illum, et delebo eum de medio populi mei Israël.

KJV ¹³ Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

ut prævaricetur prævaricans,
extendam manum meam super eam,
et conteram virgam panis ejus,
et immittam in eam famem,
et interficiam de ea hominem et jumentum.

BCC ¹⁴ et qu'il y eut ces trois hommes au milieu de ce pays, Noé, Daniel et Job, eux sauveraient leur âme par leur justice, ‒ oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.

KJV ¹⁶ Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.

sed ipsi soli liberabuntur,
terra autem desolabitur.

BCC ²¹ Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Même quand j'aurai envoyé contre Jérusalem mes quatre châtiments terribles, l'épée, la famine, les bêtes malfaisantes et la peste, en exterminant hommes et bêtes,

KJV ²¹ For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

VULC ²¹ Quoniam hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Quod etsi quatuor judicia mea pessima,
gladium, et famem, ac bestias malas, et pestilentiam,
immisero in Jerusalem,
ut interficiam de ea hominem et pecus,

BCC ²² voici qu'il y aura un reste qui échappera, qui sortira de la ville, des fils et des filles. Voici qu'ils viendront vers vous : vous verrez leur conduite et leurs oeuvres, et vous vous consolerez du mal que j'aurai fait venir sur Jérusalem, de tout ce que j'aurai fait venir sur elle.

KJV ²² Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

et consolabimini super malo quod induxi in Jerusalem,
