KJV ¹ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

NEG ¹ La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

VULC ¹ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :

WLC ¹ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ² Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

NEG ² Fils de l'homme, le bois de la vigne, qu'a-t-il de plus que tout autre bois, Le sarment qui est parmi les arbres de la forêt?

VULC ² [Fili hominis, quid fiet de ligno vitis,
ex omnibus lignis nemorum
quæ sunt inter ligna silvarum ?

WLC ² בֶּן־ אָדָ֕ם מַה־ יִּֽהְיֶ֥ה עֵץ־ הַגֶּ֖פֶן מִכָּל־ עֵ֑ץ הַזְּמוֹרָ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה בַּעֲצֵ֥י הַיָּֽעַר׃

KJV ³ Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

NEG ³ Prend-on de ce bois pour fabriquer un ouvrage? En tire-t-on une cheville pour y suspendre un objet quelconque?

VULC ³ numquid tolletur de ea lignum ut fiat opus,
aut fabricabitur de ea paxillus
ut dependeat in eo quodcumque vas ?

WLC ³ הֲיֻקַּ֤ח מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ עֵ֔ץ לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת לִמְלָאכָ֑ה אִם־ יִקְח֤וּ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ יָתֵ֔ד לִתְל֥וֹת עָלָ֖יו כָּל־ כֶּֽלִי׃

KJV ⁴ Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work?

NEG ⁴ Voici, on le met au feu pour le consumer; Le feu en consume les deux bouts, et le milieu brûle: Sera-t-il bon à quelque chose?

VULC ⁴ Ecce igni datum est in escam :
utramque partem ejus consumpsit ignis,
et medietas ejus redacta est in favillam :
numquid utile erit ad opus ?

WLC ⁴ הִנֵּ֥ה לָאֵ֖שׁ נִתַּ֣ן לְאָכְלָ֑ה אֵת֩ שְׁנֵ֨י קְצוֹתָ֜יו אָכְלָ֤ה הָאֵשׁ֙ וְתוֹכ֣וֹ נָחָ֔ר הֲיִצְלַ֖ח לִמְלָאכָֽה׃

KJV ⁵ Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned?

NEG ⁵ Voici, lorsqu'il était entier, on n'en faisait aucun ouvrage; Combien moins, lorsque le feu l'a consumé et qu'il est brûlé, En pourra-t-on faire quelque ouvrage?

VULC ⁵ Etiam cum esset integrum,
non erat aptum ad opus :
quanto magis cum illud ignis devoraverit et combusserit,
nihil ex eo fiet operis ?

WLC ⁵ הִנֵּה֙ בִּֽהְיוֹת֣וֹ תָמִ֔ים לֹ֥א יֵֽעָשֶׂ֖ה לִמְלָאכָ֑ה אַ֣ף כִּי־ אֵ֤שׁ אֲכָלַ֙תְהוּ֙ וַיֵּחָ֔ר וְנַעֲשָׂ֥ה ע֖וֹד לִמְלָאכָֽה׃

KJV ⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

NEG ⁶ C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Comme le bois de la vigne parmi les arbres de la forêt, Ce bois que je livre au feu pour le consumer, Ainsi je livrerai les habitants de Jérusalem.

VULC ⁶ Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Quomodo lignum vitis inter ligna silvarum,
quod dedi igni ad devorandum,
sic tradam habitatores Jerusalem.

WLC ⁶ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר עֵץ־ הַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ בְּעֵ֣ץ הַיַּ֔עַר אֲשֶׁר־ נְתַתִּ֥יו לָאֵ֖שׁ לְאָכְלָ֑ה כֵּ֣ן נָתַ֔תִּי אֶת־ יֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

KJV ⁷ And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them.

NEG ⁷ Je tournerai ma face contre eux; Ils sont sortis du feu, et le feu les consumera. Et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel, Quand je tournerai ma face contre eux.

VULC ⁷ Et ponam faciem meam in eos :
de igne egredientur,
et ignis consumet eos :
et scietis quia ego Dominus,
cum posuero faciem meam in eos,

WLC ⁷ וְנָתַתִּ֤י אֶת־ פָּנַי֙ בָּהֶ֔ם מֵהָאֵ֣שׁ יָצָ֔אוּ וְהָאֵ֖שׁ תֹּֽאכְלֵ֑ם וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בְּשׂוּמִ֥י אֶת־ פָּנַ֖י בָּהֶֽם׃

KJV ⁸ And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD.

NEG ⁸ Je ferai du pays un désert, Parce qu'ils ont été infidèles, Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.

VULC ⁸ et dedero terram inviam et desolatam,
eo quod prævaricatores extiterint,
dicit Dominus Deus.]

WLC ⁸ וְנָתַתִּ֥י אֶת־ הָאָ֖רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֑ה יַ֚עַן מָ֣עֲלוּ מַ֔עַל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
