KJV ¹ And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD, and sat before me.

WLC ¹ וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗ית בַּֽחֲמִשִׁי֙ בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ בָּ֧אוּ אֲנָשִׁ֛ים מִזִּקְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לִדְרֹ֣שׁ אֶת־ יְהוָ֑ה וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ לְפָנָֽי׃

KJV ² Then came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,

VULC ² Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :

WLC ² וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ³ Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.

LSG ³ Fils de l'homme, parle aux anciens d'Israël, et dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Est-ce pour me consulter que vous êtes venus ? Je suis vivant ! je ne me laisserai pas consulter par vous, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

VULC ³ Fili hominis, loquere senioribus Israël, et dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Numquid ad interrogandum me vos venistis ? vivo ego quia non respondebo vobis, ait Dominus Deus.

WLC ³ בֶּן־ אָדָ֗ם דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶת־ זִקְנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה הֲלִדְרֹ֥שׁ אֹתִ֖י אַתֶּ֣ם בָּאִ֑ים חַי־ אָ֙נִי֙ אִם־ אִדָּרֵ֣שׁ לָכֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

KJV ⁴ Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers:

LSG ⁴ Veux-tu les juger, veux-tu les juger, fils de l'homme ? Fais-leur connaître les abominations de leurs pères !

VULC ⁴ Si judicas eos, si judicas, fili hominis, abominationes patrum eorum ostende eis.

WLC ⁴ הֲתִשְׁפֹּ֣ט אֹתָ֔ם הֲתִשְׁפּ֖וֹט בֶּן־ אָדָ֑ם אֶת־ תּוֹעֲבֹ֥ת אֲבוֹתָ֖ם הוֹדִיעֵֽם׃

KJV ⁵ And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;

KJV ⁶ In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:

LSG ⁶ En ce jour-là, j'ai levé ma main vers eux, pour les faire passer du pays d'Égypte dans un pays que j'avais cherché pour eux, pays où coulent le lait et le miel, le plus beau de tous les pays.

VULC ⁶ in die illa levavi manum meam pro eis ut educerem eos de terra Ægypti, in terram quam provideram eis, fluentem lacte et melle, quæ est egregia inter omnes terras.

WLC ⁶ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא נָשָׂ֤אתִי יָדִי֙ לָהֶ֔ם לְהֽוֹצִיאָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם אֶל־ אֶ֜רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־ תַּ֣רְתִּי לָהֶ֗ם זָבַ֤ת חָלָב֙ וּדְבַ֔שׁ צְבִ֥י הִ֖יא לְכָל־ הָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

KJV ⁷ Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

LSG ⁷ Je leur dis: Rejetez chacun les abominations qui attirent ses regards, et ne vous souillez pas par les idoles de l'Égypte ! Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.

VULC ⁷ Et dixi ad eos : Unusquisque offensiones oculorum suorum abjiciat, et in idolis Ægypti nolite pollui : ego Dominus Deus vester.

WLC ⁷ וָאֹמַ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם אִ֣ישׁ שִׁקּוּצֵ֤י עֵינָיו֙ הַשְׁלִ֔יכוּ וּבְגִלּוּלֵ֥י מִצְרַ֖יִם אַל־ תִּטַּמָּ֑אוּ אֲנִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

KJV ⁸ But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

LSG ⁸ Et ils se révoltèrent contre moi, et ils ne voulurent pas m'écouter. Aucun ne rejeta les abominations qui attiraient ses regards, et ils n'abandonnèrent point les idoles de l'Égypte. J'eus la pensée de répandre ma fureur sur eux, d'épuiser contre eux ma colère, au milieu du pays d'Égypte.

VULC ⁸ Et irritaverunt me, nolueruntque me audire : unusquisque abominationes oculorum suorum non projecit, nec idola Ægypti reliquerunt. Et dixi ut effunderem indignationem meam super eos, et implerem iram meam in eis, in medio terræ Ægypti.

KJV ⁹ But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

LSG ⁹ Néanmoins j'ai agi par égard pour mon nom, afin qu'il ne soit pas profané aux yeux des nations parmi lesquelles ils se trouvaient, et aux yeux desquelles je m'étais fait connaître à eux, pour les faire sortir du pays d'Égypte.

VULC ⁹ Et feci propter nomen meum, ut non violaretur coram gentibus in quarum medio erant, et inter quas apparui eis ut educerem eos de terra Ægypti.

WLC ⁹ וָאַ֙עַשׂ֙ לְמַ֣עַן שְׁמִ֔י לְבִלְתִּ֥י הֵחֵ֛ל לְעֵינֵ֥י הַגּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁר־ הֵ֣מָּה בְתוֹכָ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר נוֹדַ֤עְתִּי אֲלֵיהֶם֙ לְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם לְהוֹצִיאָ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹⁰ Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

VULC ¹¹ Et dedi eis præcepta mea, et judicia mea ostendi eis, quæ faciens homo vivet in eis.

WLC ¹¹ וָאֶתֵּ֤ן לָהֶם֙ אֶת־ חֻקּוֹתַ֔י וְאֶת־ מִשְׁפָּטַ֖י הוֹדַ֣עְתִּי אוֹתָ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה אוֹתָ֛ם הָאָדָ֖ם וָחַ֥י בָּהֶֽם׃

KJV ¹² Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

LSG ¹² Je leur donnai aussi mes sabbats comme un signe entre moi et eux, pour qu'ils connussent que je suis l'Éternel qui les sanctifie.

VULC ¹² Insuper et sabbata mea dedi eis, ut essent signum inter me et eos, et scirent quia ego Dominus sanctificans eos.

WLC ¹² וְגַ֤ם אֶת־ שַׁבְּתוֹתַי֙ נָתַ֣תִּי לָהֶ֔ם לִהְי֣וֹת לְא֔וֹת בֵּינִ֖י וּבֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם לָדַ֕עַת כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃

KJV ¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

LSG ¹³ Et la maison d'Israël se révolta contre moi dans le désert. Ils ne suivirent point mes lois, et ils rejetèrent mes ordonnances, que l'homme doit mettre en pratique, afin de vivre par elles, et ils profanèrent à l'excès mes sabbats. J'eus la pensée de répandre sur eux ma fureur dans le désert, pour les anéantir.

VULC ¹³ Et irritaverunt me domus Israël in deserto : in præceptis meis non ambulaverunt, et judicia mea projecerunt, quæ faciens homo vivet in eis, et sabbata mea violaverunt vehementer. Dixi ergo ut effunderem furorem meum super eos in deserto, et consumerem eos :

KJV ¹⁶ Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

LSG ¹⁶ et cela parce qu'ils rejetèrent mes ordonnances et ne suivirent point mes lois, et parce qu'ils profanèrent mes sabbats, car leur coeur ne s'éloigna pas de leurs idoles.

VULC ¹⁶ quia judicia mea projecerunt, et in præceptis meis non ambulaverunt, et sabbata mea violaverunt : post idola enim cor eorum gradiebatur.

WLC ¹⁶ יַ֜עַן בְּמִשְׁפָּטַ֣י מָאָ֗סוּ וְאֶת־ חֻקּוֹתַי֙ לֹא־ הָלְכ֣וּ בָהֶ֔ם וְאֶת־ שַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖י חִלֵּ֑לוּ כִּ֛י אַחֲרֵ֥י גִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם לִבָּ֥ם הֹלֵֽךְ׃

KJV ¹⁷ Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

LSG ¹⁷ Mais j'eus pour eux un regard de pitié et je ne les détruisis pas, je ne les exterminai pas dans le désert.

KJV ¹⁸ But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:

KJV ²⁰ And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

LSG ²⁰ Sanctifiez mes sabbats, et qu'ils soient entre moi et vous un signe auquel on connaisse que je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.

VULC ²¹ Et exacerbaverunt me filii : in præceptis meis non ambulaverunt, et judicia mea non custodierunt ut facerent ea, quæ cum fecerit homo, vivet in eis, et sabbata mea violaverunt. Et comminatus sum ut effunderem furorem meum super eos, et implerem iram meam in eis in deserto.

KJV ²² Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.

LSG ²² Néanmoins j'ai retiré ma main, et j'ai agi par égard pour mon nom, afin qu'il ne fût pas profané aux yeux des nations en présence desquelles je les avais fait sortir d'Égypte.

KJV ²³ I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;

LSG ²³ Dans le désert, je levai encore ma main vers eux, pour les disperser parmi les nations et les répandre en divers pays,

VULC ²³ Iterum levavi manum meam in eos in solitudine, ut dispergerem illos in nationes, et ventilarem in terras,

WLC ²³ גַּם־ אֲנִ֗י נָשָׂ֧אתִי אֶת־ יָדִ֛י לָהֶ֖ם בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר לְהָפִ֤יץ אֹתָם֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם וּלְזָר֥וֹת אוֹתָ֖ם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

KJV ²⁴ Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

LSG ²⁴ parce qu'ils ne mirent pas en pratique mes ordonnances, parce qu'ils rejetèrent mes préceptes, profanèrent mes sabbats, et tournèrent leurs yeux vers les idoles de leurs pères.

VULC ²⁴ eo quod judicia mea non fecissent, et præcepta mea reprobassent, et sabbata mea violassent, et post idola patrum suorum fuissent oculi eorum.

WLC ²⁴ יַ֜עַן מִשְׁפָּטַ֤י לֹֽא־ עָשׂוּ֙ וְחֻקּוֹתַ֣י מָאָ֔סוּ וְאֶת־ שַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖י חִלֵּ֑לוּ וְאַחֲרֵי֙ גִּלּוּלֵ֣י אֲבוֹתָ֔ם הָי֖וּ עֵינֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁵ Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

VULC ²⁵ Ergo et ego dedi eis præcepta non bona, et judicia in quibus non vivent.

WLC ²⁵ וְגַם־ אֲנִי֙ נָתַ֣תִּי לָהֶ֔ם חֻקִּ֖ים לֹ֣א טוֹבִ֑ים וּמִ֨שְׁפָּטִ֔ים לֹ֥א יִֽחְי֖וּ בָּהֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁶ And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.

KJV ²⁷ Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

LSG ²⁷ C'est pourquoi parle à la maison d'Israël, fils de l'homme, et dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Vos pères m'ont encore outragé, en se montrant infidèles à mon égard.

VULC ²⁷ Quam ob rem loquere ad domum Israël, fili hominis, et dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Adhuc et in hoc blasphemaverunt me patres vestri, cum sprevissent me contemnentes,

KJV ²⁸ For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.

LSG ²⁸ Je les ai conduits dans le pays que j'avais juré de leur donner, et ils ont jeté les yeux sur toute colline élevée et sur tout arbre touffu ; là ils ont fait leurs sacrifices, ils ont présenté leurs offrandes qui m'irritaient, ils ont brûlé leurs parfums d'une agréable odeur, et ils ont répandu leurs libations.

VULC ²⁸ et induxissem eos in terram super quam levavi manum meam ut darem eis : viderunt omnem collem excelsum, et omne lignum nemorosum, et immolaverunt ibi victimas suas, et dederunt ibi irritationem oblationis suæ, et posuerunt ibi odorem suavitatis suæ, et libaverunt libationes suas.

KJV ²⁹ Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name whereof is called Bamah unto this day.

LSG ²⁹ Je leur dis: Qu'est-ce que ces hauts lieux où vous vous rendez ? Et le nom de hauts lieux leur a été donné jusqu'à ce jour.

VULC ²⁹ Et dixi ad eos : Quid est excelsum, ad quod vos ingredimini ? et vocatum est nomen ejus Excelsum usque ad hanc diem.

WLC ²⁹ וָאֹמַ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם מָ֣ה הַבָּמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ אַתֶּ֥ם הַבָּאִ֖ים שָׁ֑ם וַיִּקָּרֵ֤א שְׁמָהּ֙ בָּמָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

KJV ³⁰ Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?

LSG ³⁰ C'est pourquoi dis à la maison d'Israël: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Ne vous souillez-vous pas à la manière de vos pères, et ne vous prostituez-vous pas à leurs abominations ?

VULC ³⁰ Propterea dic ad domum Israël : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Certe in via patrum vestrorum vos polluimini, et post offendicula eorum vos fornicamini :

WLC ³⁰ לָכֵ֞ן אֱמֹ֣ר ׀ אֶל־ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה הַבְּדֶ֥רֶךְ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם אַתֶּ֣ם נִטְמְאִ֑ים וְאַחֲרֵ֥י שִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֖ם אַתֶּ֥ם זֹנִֽים׃

KJV ³¹ For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.

LSG ³¹ En présentant vos offrandes, en faisant passer vos enfants par le feu, vous vous souillez encore aujourd'hui par toutes vos idoles. Et moi, je me laisserais consulter par vous, maison d'Israël ! Je suis vivant ! dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, je ne me laisserai pas consulter par vous.

VULC ³¹ et in oblatione donorum vestrorum, cum traducitis filios vestros per ignem, vos polluimini in omnibus idolis vestris usque hodie : et ego respondebo vobis, domus Israël ? Vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, quia non respondebo vobis.

KJV ³² And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

LSG ³² On ne verra pas s'accomplir ce que vous imaginez, quand vous dites: Nous voulons être comme les nations, comme les familles des autres pays, nous voulons servir le bois et la pierre.

VULC ³² Neque cogitatio mentis vestræ fiet, dicentium : Erimus sicut gentes et sicut cognationes terræ, ut colamus ligna et lapides.

KJV ³³ As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:

LSG ³³ Je suis vivant ! dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, je régnerai sur vous, à main forte et à bras étendu, et en répandant ma fureur.

VULC ³³ Vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, quoniam in manu forti, et in brachio extento, et in furore effuso, regnabo super vos.

KJV ³⁴ And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

LSG ³⁴ Je vous ferai sortir du milieu des peuples, et je vous rassemblerai des pays où vous êtes dispersés, à main forte et à bras étendu, et en répandant ma fureur.

VULC ³⁴ Et educam vos de populis, et congregabo vos de terris in quibus dispersi estis : in manu valida, et in brachio extento, et in furore effuso, regnabo super vos.

KJV ³⁵ And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.

KJV ³⁶ Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.

LSG ³⁶ Comme je suis entré en jugement avec vos pères dans le désert du pays d'Égypte, ainsi j'entrerai en jugement avec vous, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

VULC ³⁶ Sicut judicio contendi adversum patres vestros in deserto terræ Ægypti, sic judicabo vos, dicit Dominus Deus.

WLC ³⁶ כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר נִשְׁפַּ֙טְתִּי֙ אֶת־ אֲב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם בְּמִדְבַּ֖ר אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם כֵּ֚ן אִשָּׁפֵ֣ט אִתְּכֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

KJV ³⁷ And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

LSG ³⁷ Je vous ferai passer sous la verge, et je vous mettrai dans les liens de l'alliance.

VULC ³⁷ Et subjiciam vos sceptro meo, et inducam vos in vinculis fœderis.

WLC ³⁷ וְהַעֲבַרְתִּ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁ֑בֶט וְהֵבֵאתִ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם בְּמָסֹ֥רֶת הַבְּרִֽית׃

KJV ³⁸ And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

LSG ³⁸ Je séparerai de vous les rebelles et ceux qui me sont infidèles ; je les tirerai du pays où ils sont étrangers, mais ils n'iront pas au pays d'Israël. Et vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel.

VULC ³⁸ Et eligam de vobis transgressores et impios, et de terra incolatus eorum educam eos, et in terram Israël non ingredientur : et scietis quia ego Dominus.

WLC ³⁸ וּבָרוֹתִ֣י מִכֶּ֗ם הַמֹּרְדִ֤ים וְהַפּֽוֹשְׁעִים֙ בִּ֔י מֵאֶ֤רֶץ מְגֽוּרֵיהֶם֙ אוֹצִ֣יא אוֹתָ֔ם וְאֶל־ אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹ֣א יָב֑וֹא וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³⁹ As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

LSG ³⁹ Et vous, maison d'Israël, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Allez chacun servir vos idoles ! Mais après cela, vous m'écouterez, et vous ne profanerez plus mon saint nom par vos offrandes et par vos idoles.

KJV ⁴⁰ For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

LSG ⁴⁰ Car sur ma montagne sainte, sur la haute montagne d'Israël, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, là toute la maison d'Israël, tous ceux qui seront dans le pays me serviront ; là je les recevrai favorablement, je rechercherai vos offrandes, les prémices de vos dons, et tout ce que vous me consacrerez.

VULC ⁴⁰ in monte sancto meo, in monte excelso Israël, ait Dominus Deus, ibi serviet mihi omnis domus Israël : omnes, inquam, in terra in qua placebunt mihi : et ibi quæram primitias vestras, et initium decimarum vestrarum, in omnibus sanctificationibus vestris.

KJV ⁴¹ I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

LSG ⁴¹ Je vous recevrai comme un parfum d'une agréable odeur, quand je vous aurai fait sortir du milieu des peuples, et rassemblés des pays où vous êtes dispersés ; et je serai sanctifié par vous aux yeux des nations.

VULC ⁴¹ In odorem suavitatis suscipiam vos, cum eduxero vos de populis, et congregavero vos de terris in quas dispersi estis : et sanctificabor in vobis in oculis nationum.

KJV ⁴² And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.

WLC ⁴² וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בַּהֲבִיאִ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֶל־ אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֶל־ הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָשָׂ֙אתִי֙ אֶת־ יָדִ֔י לָתֵ֥ת אוֹתָ֖הּ לַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

KJV ⁴³ And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

LSG ⁴³ Là vous vous souviendrez de votre conduite et de toutes vos actions par lesquelles vous vous êtes souillés ; vous vous prendrez vous-mêmes en dégoût, à cause de toutes les infamies que vous avez commises.

VULC ⁴³ Et recordabimini ibi viarum vestrarum, et omnium scelerum vestrorum, quibus polluti estis in eis : et displicebitis vobis in conspectu vestro, in omnibus malitiis vestris quas fecistis.

WLC ⁴³ וּזְכַרְתֶּם־ שָׁ֗ם אֶת־ דַּרְכֵיכֶם֙ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ עֲלִיל֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִטְמֵאתֶ֖ם בָּ֑ם וּנְקֹֽטֹתֶם֙ בִּפְנֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכָל־ רָעוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר עֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃

KJV ⁴⁴ And ye shall know that I am the LORD when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

LSG ⁴⁴ Et vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'agirai avec vous par égard pour mon nom, et nullement d'après votre conduite mauvaise et vos actions corrompues, ô maison d'Israël ! dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

VULC ⁴⁴ Et scietis quia ego Dominus, cum benefecero vobis propter nomen meum, et non secundum vias vestras malas, neque secundum scelera vestra pessima, domus Israël, ait Dominus Deus.

WLC ⁴⁴ וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בַּעֲשׂוֹתִ֥י אִתְּכֶ֖ם לְמַ֣עַן שְׁמִ֑י לֹא֩ כְדַרְכֵיכֶ֨ם הָרָעִ֜ים וְכַעֲלִילֽוֹתֵיכֶ֤ם הַנִּשְׁחָתוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

KJV ⁴⁵ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

KJV ⁴⁶ Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;

LSG ⁴⁶ (21:2) Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face vers le midi, Et parle contre le midi ! Prophétise contre la forêt des champs du midi !

VULC ⁴⁶ [Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam contra viam austri,
et stilla ad africum,
et propheta ad saltum agri meridiani.

KJV ⁴⁷ And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

LSG ⁴⁷ (21:3) Tu diras à la forêt du midi: Écoute la parole de l'Éternel ! Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Je vais allumer un feu au dedans de toi, Et il dévorera tout arbre vert et tout arbre sec ; La flamme ardente ne s'éteindra point, Et tout visage en sera brûlé, Du midi au septentrion.

VULC ⁴⁷ Et dices saltui meridiano :
Audi verbum Domini :
Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Ecce ego succendam in te ignem,
et comburam in te omne lignum viride,
et omne lignum aridum :
non extinguetur flamma succensionis :
et comburetur in ea omnis facies
ab austro usque ad aquilonem,

KJV ⁴⁸ And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.

LSG ⁴⁸ (21:4) Et toute chair verra Que moi, l'Éternel, je l'ai allumé. Il ne s'éteindra point.

KJV ⁴⁹ Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

LSG ⁴⁹ (21:5) Je dis: Ah ! Seigneur Éternel ! Ils disent de moi: N'est-ce pas un faiseur de paraboles ?

VULC ⁴⁹ Et dixi : A, a, a, Domine Deus : ipsi dicunt de me : Numquid non per parabolas loquitur iste ?
