BCC ¹ La parole de Dieu me fut adressée en ces termes :

VULC ¹ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :

BCC ² « Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face vers les enfants d'Ammon ; et prophétise contre eux.

KJV ² Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;

VULC ² Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam contra filios Ammon, et prophetabis de eis.

BCC ³ Tu diras aux enfants d'Ammon : écoutez la parole du Seigneur Yahweh : ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : puisque un dis : Ha ! Ha ! Sur mon sanctuaire parce qu'il a été profané, et sur la terre d'Israël parce qu'elle a été dévastée, et sur la maison de Juda parce qu'ils sont allés en captivité,

KJV ³ And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

VULC ³ Et dices filiis Ammon : [Audite verbum Domini Dei.
Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Pro eo quod dixisti : Euge, euge,
super sanctuarium meum, quia pollutum est ;
et super terram Israël, quoniam desolata est ;
et super domum Juda, quoniam ducti sunt in captivitatem :

BCC ⁴ à cause de cela, voici que je vais te donner en possession aux fils de l'Orient ; ils établiront chez toi leurs campements, et fixeront chez toi leurs demeures ; ce sont eux qui mangeront tes fruits, eux qui boiront ton lait.

KJV ⁴ Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

VULC ⁴ idcirco ego tradam te filiis orientalibus in hæreditatem :
et collocabunt caulas suas in te,
et ponent in te tentoria sua :
ipsi comedent fruges tuas,
et ipsi bibent lac tuum.

BCC ⁵ Et je ferai de Rabbath un pâturage de chameaux, et du pays des enfants d'Ammon un bercail de brebis, et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

KJV ⁵ And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couching place for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

VULC ⁵ Daboque Rabbath in habitaculum camelorum,
et filios Ammon in cubile pecorum :
et scietis quia ego Dominus.

BCC ⁶ Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Parce que tu as battu des mains, et que tu as frappé du pied, et que tu t'es réjouis dans ton âme avec tout ton dédain, au sujet de la terre d'Israël,

KJV ⁶ For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

VULC ⁶ Quia hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Pro eo quod plausisti manu et percussisti pede,
et gavisa es ex toto affectu super terram Israël,

BCC ⁷ à cause de cela, voici que je vais étendre ma main contre toi ; je te donnerai en butin aux nations, je t'exterminerai d'entre les peuples, et je te retrancherai d'entre les pays ; je t'anéantirai, et tu sauras que le suis Yahweh. »

KJV ⁷ Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

VULC ⁷ idcirco ecce ego extendam manum meam super te,
et tradam te in direptionem gentium,
et interficiam te de populis,
et perdam de terris, et conteram :
et scies quia ego Dominus.]

BCC ⁸ « Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : parce que Moab et Séir disent :

KJV ⁸ Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;

VULC ⁸ [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Pro eo quod dixerunt Moab et Seir :
Ecce sicut omnes gentes, domus Juda :

BCC ⁹ « Voici que la maison de Juda est comme toutes les nations, » à cause de cela, voici que je vais ouvrir le flanc de Moab, depuis les villes, depuis ses villes, depuis sa frontière, la gloire du pays, Bethjésimoth, Beelméon et Cariathaïm.

KJV ⁹ Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,

VULC ⁹ idcirco ecce ego aperiam humerum Moab de civitatibus,
de civitatibus, inquam, ejus, et de finibus ejus,
inclytas terræ Bethiesimoth, et Beelmeon, et Cariathaim,

BCC ¹⁰ Je vais l'ouvrir aux fils de l'Orient, aussi bien que le pays des enfants d'Ammon, et je le leur donnerai en possession, afin qu'on ne se souvienne plus des enfants d'Ammon parmi les nations.

KJV ¹⁰ Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.

VULC ¹⁰ filiis orientis cum filiis Ammon,
et dabo eam in hæreditatem,
ut non sit ultra memoria filiorum Ammon in gentibus.

BCC ¹¹ J'exercerai des jugements en Moab, et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh. »

KJV ¹¹ And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

VULC ¹¹ Et in Moab faciam judicia,
et scient quia ego Dominus.]

BCC ¹² « Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Parce qu'Édom a exercé cruellement la vengeance contre la maison de Juda, et qu'il s'est rendu grandement coupable en se vengeant d'eux,

KJV ¹² Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;

VULC ¹² [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Pro eo quod fecit Idumæa ultionem ut se vindicaret de filiis Juda,
peccavitque delinquens,
et vindictam expetivit de eis :

BCC ¹³ à cause de cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : J'étendrai ma main contre Édom et j'exterminerai du milieu de lui hommes et bêtes ; j'en ferai un désert depuis Théman, et jusqu'à Dédan ils tomberont par l'épée.

KJV ¹³ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

VULC ¹³ idcirco hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Extendam manum meam super Idumæam,
et auferam de ea hominem et jumentum,
et faciam eam desertam ab austro :
et qui sunt in Dedan, gladio cadent.

BCC ¹⁴ J'exercerai ma vengeance sur Édom, par la main de mon peuple d'Israël ; il traitera Édom selon ma colère et ma fureur, et ils connaîtront ma vengeance, ‒ oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. »

KJV ¹⁴ And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.

VULC ¹⁴ Et dabo ultionem meam super Idumæam
per manum populi mei Israël :
et facient in Edom juxta iram meam et furorem meum,
et scient vindictam meam,
dicit Dominus Deus.]

BCC ¹⁵ « ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : parce que les Philistins ont exercé la vengeance, et qu'ils se sont cruellement vengés, avec le dédain en leur âme pour tout exterminer dans leur haine éternelle,

KJV ¹⁵ Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;

VULC ¹⁵ [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Pro eo quod fecerunt Palæstini vindictam,
et ulti se sunt toto animo,
interficientes, et implentes inimicitias veteres,

BCC ¹⁶ à cause de cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : voici que j'étendrai ma main contre les Philistins, j'exterminerai les Crétois, et je détruirai le reste qui habite sur le rivage de la mer.

KJV ¹⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

VULC ¹⁶ propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Ecce ego extendam manum meam super Palæstinos,
et interficiam interfectores,
et perdam reliquias maritimæ regionis,

BCC ¹⁷ J'exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances, les châtiant avec fureur, et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh, quand je ferai tomber sur eux ma vengeance. »

KJV ¹⁷ And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

VULC ¹⁷ faciamque in eis ultiones magnas,
arguens in furore :
et scient quia ego Dominus,
cum dedero vindictam meam super eos.]
