BAN ¹ Et la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée en ces mots :

BAN ² Et toi, fils d'homme, prononce sur Tyr une complainte ;

KJV ² Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;

WLC ² וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־ אָדָ֔ם שָׂ֥א עַל־ צֹ֖ר קִינָֽה׃

BAN ³ et dis à Tyr : O toi qui es assise aux abords de la mer, qui portais les marchandises des peuples à des îles nombreuses, ainsi parle le Seigneur l'Eternel : Toi, ô Tyr, tu as dit : Je suis parfaite en beauté !

KJV ³ And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.

WLC ³ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְצ֗וֹר עַל־ מְבוֹאֹ֣ת יָ֔ם רֹכֶ֙לֶת֙ הָֽעַמִּ֔ים אֶל־ אִיִּ֖ים רַבִּ֑ים כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה צ֕וֹר אַ֣תְּ אָמַ֔רְתְּ אֲנִ֖י כְּלִ֥ילַת יֹֽפִי׃

BAN ⁴ Ton domaine est au sein des mers ; ceux qui t'ont construite, avaient rendu ta beauté parfaite.

KJV ⁴ Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

WLC ⁴ בְּלֵ֥ב יַמִּ֖ים גְּבוּלָ֑יִךְ בֹּנַ֕יִךְ כָּלְל֖וּ יָפְיֵֽךְ׃

BAN ⁵ Ils ont construit en cyprès de Sénir toutes tes parois ; ils ont pris du Liban un cèdre pour t'en faire un mât.

KJV ⁵ They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.

WLC ⁵ בְּרוֹשִׁ֤ים מִשְּׂנִיר֙ בָּ֣נוּ לָ֔ךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־ לֻֽחֹתָ֑יִם אֶ֤רֶז מִלְּבָנוֹן֙ לָקָ֔חוּ לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת תֹּ֖רֶן עָלָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ⁶ Ils ont fait tes rames de chêne de Basan et tes bancs d'ivoire incrusté dans du buis apporté des îles de Kittim.

KJV ⁶ Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.

WLC ⁶ אַלּוֹנִים֙ מִבָּ֔שָׁן עָשׂ֖וּ מִשּׁוֹטָ֑יִךְ קַרְשֵׁ֤ךְ עָֽשׂוּ־ שֵׁן֙ בַּת־ אֲשֻׁרִ֔ים מֵאִיֵּ֖י

BAN ⁷ Du lin brodé d'Egypte, voilà ce que tu employais pour faire tes voiles ; tu avais pour tes tentures l'hyacinthe et l'écarlate des îles d'Elisa.

KJV ⁷ Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.

WLC ⁷ שֵׁשׁ־ בְּרִקְמָ֤ה מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ הָיָ֣ה מִפְרָשֵׂ֔ךְ לִהְי֥וֹת לָ֖ךְ לְנֵ֑ס תְּכֵ֧לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן מֵאִיֵּ֥י אֱלִישָׁ֖ה הָיָ֥ה מְכַסֵּֽךְ׃

BAN ⁸ Les habitants de Sidon et d'Arvad te servaient de rameurs ; quant aux hommes habiles qu'il te fallait, ô Tyr, tu les avais chez toi ; c'étaient eux qui étaient tes pilotes.

KJV ⁸ The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.

WLC ⁸ יֹשְׁבֵ֤י צִידוֹן֙ וְאַרְוַ֔ד הָי֥וּ שָׁטִ֖ים לָ֑ךְ חֲכָמַ֤יִךְ צוֹר֙ הָ֣יוּ בָ֔ךְ הֵ֖מָּה חֹבְלָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ⁹ Les vieux et les habiles de Guébal étaient chez toi comme tes radoubeurs. Tous les vaisseaux de la mer et leurs marins venaient chez toi pour faire l'échange de tes marchandises.

KJV ⁹ The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.

WLC ⁹ זִקְנֵ֨י גְבַ֤ל וַחֲכָמֶ֙יהָ֙ הָ֣יוּ בָ֔ךְ מַחֲזִיקֵ֖י בִּדְקֵ֑ךְ כָּל־ אֳנִיּ֨וֹת הַיָּ֤ם וּמַלָּֽחֵיהֶם֙ הָ֣יוּ בָ֔ךְ לַעֲרֹ֖ב מַעֲרָבֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹⁰ Perses, Lydiens et Lybiens étaient dans ton armée. C'étaient des gens de guerre ; ils suspendaient chez toi le bouclier et le casque et te donnaient de l'éclat.

KJV ¹⁰ They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

WLC ¹⁰ פָּרַ֨ס וְל֤וּד וּפוּט֙ הָי֣וּ בְחֵילֵ֔ךְ אַנְשֵׁ֖י מִלְחַמְתֵּ֑ךְ מָגֵ֤ן וְכוֹבַע֙ תִּלּוּ־ בָ֔ךְ הֵ֖מָּה נָתְנ֥וּ הֲדָרֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹¹ Les fils d'Arvad et ton armée couvraient tes murailles, et des hommes vaillants étaient sur tes tours. Ils suspendaient leurs boucliers à tes murs tout à l'entour ; ils rendaient ta beauté parfaite.

KJV ¹¹ The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.

WLC ¹¹ בְּנֵ֧י אַרְוַ֣ד וְחֵילֵ֗ךְ עַל־ חוֹמוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ סָבִ֔יב וְגַ֨מָּדִ֔ים בְּמִגְדְּלוֹתַ֖יִךְ הָי֑וּ שִׁלְטֵיהֶ֞ם תִּלּ֤וּ עַל־ חוֹמוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ סָבִ֔יב הֵ֖מָּה כָּלְל֥וּ יָפְיֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹² Tharsis commerçait avec toi pour ses richesses de toutes sortes ; c'était en argent, en fer, en étain et en plomb qu'elle payait tes marchandises.

KJV ¹² Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.

WLC ¹² תַּרְשִׁ֥ישׁ סֹחַרְתֵּ֖ךְ מֵרֹ֣ב כָּל־ ה֑וֹן בְּכֶ֤סֶף בַּרְזֶל֙ בְּדִ֣יל וְעוֹפֶ֔רֶת נָתְנ֖וּ עִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ¹³ Javan, Tubal et Mésec trafiquaient avec toi ; ils échangeaient contre tes marchandises des âmes d'hommes et des vases de cuivre.

KJV ¹³ Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.

WLC ¹³ יָוָ֤ן תֻּבַל֙ וָמֶ֔שֶׁךְ הֵ֖מָּה רֹֽכְלָ֑יִךְ בְּנֶ֤פֶשׁ אָדָם֙ וּכְלֵ֣י נְחֹ֔שֶׁת נָתְנ֖וּ מַעֲרָבֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹⁴ Ceux de la maison de Thogarma payaient avec des chevaux de trait, des chevaux de course et des mulets.

KJV ¹⁴ They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

WLC ¹⁴ מִבֵּ֖ית תּוֹגַרְמָ֑ה סוּסִ֤ים וּפָֽרָשִׁים֙ וּפְרָדִ֔ים נָתְנ֖וּ עִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ¹⁵ Les fils de Dédan trafiquaient avec toi ; des îles nombreuses étaient tes clientes ; elles te donnaient en paiement des dents d'éléphant et de l'ébène.

KJV ¹⁵ The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.

WLC ¹⁵ בְּנֵ֤י דְדָן֙ רֹֽכְלַ֔יִךְ אִיִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים סְחֹרַ֣ת יָדֵ֑ךְ קַרְנ֥וֹת שֵׁן֙ הֵשִׁ֖יבוּ אֶשְׁכָּרֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹⁶ Aram faisait le commerce avec toi pour la multitude de tes produits ; il payait tes marchandises avec des escarboucles, de l'écarlate, des broderies, du fin lin, du corail et des rubis.

KJV ¹⁶ Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

WLC ¹⁶ אֲרָ֥ם סֹחַרְתֵּ֖ךְ מֵרֹ֣ב מַעֲשָׂ֑יִךְ בְּ֠נֹפֶךְ אַרְגָּמָ֨ן וְרִקְמָ֤ה וּבוּץ֙ וְרָאמֹ֣ת וְכַדְכֹּ֔ד נָתְנ֖וּ בְּעִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ¹⁷ Juda et la terre d'Israël trafiquaient avec toi ; ils te donnaient en paiement du froment de Minnith, du biscuit, du miel, de l'huile et du baume.

KJV ¹⁷ Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

WLC ¹⁷ יְהוּדָה֙ וְאֶ֣רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הֵ֖מָּה רֹכְלָ֑יִךְ בְּחִטֵּ֣י מִ֠נִּית וּפַנַּ֨ג וּדְבַ֤שׁ וָשֶׁ֙מֶן֙ וָצֹ֔רִי נָתְנ֖וּ מַעֲרָבֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹⁸ Damas faisait le commerce avec toi en échangeant contre tes nombreux produits ses biens de toute sorte, du vin de Helbon et de la laine de Tsachar.

KJV ¹⁸ Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

WLC ¹⁸ דַּמֶּ֧שֶׂק סֹחַרְתֵּ֛ךְ בְּרֹ֥ב מַעֲשַׂ֖יִךְ מֵרֹ֣ב כָּל־ ה֑וֹן בְּיֵ֥ין חֶלְבּ֖וֹן וְצֶ֥מֶר צָֽחַר׃

BAN ¹⁹ Védan et Javan de Ouzzal te donnaient du fil en paiement de tes marchandises ; le fer travaillé, la casse et le roseau odorant étaient parmi tes objets d'échange.

KJV ¹⁹ Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

WLC ¹⁹ וְדָ֤ן וְיָוָן֙ מְאוּזָּ֔ל בְּעִזְבוֹנַ֖יִךְ נָתָ֑נּוּ בַּרְזֶ֤ל עָשׁוֹת֙ קִדָּ֣ה וְקָנֶ֔ה בְּמַעֲרָבֵ֖ךְ הָיָֽה׃

BAN ²⁰ Dédan échangeait avec toi des housses pour monter à cheval.

KJV ²⁰ Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.

WLC ²⁰ דְּדָן֙ רֹֽכַלְתֵּ֔ךְ בְבִגְדֵי־ חֹ֖פֶשׁ לְרִכְבָּֽה׃

BAN ²¹ L'Arabie et tous les princes de Kédar étaient tes clients ; ils faisaient avec toi commerce de moutons, de béliers et de boucs.

KJV ²¹ Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.

WLC ²¹ עֲרַב֙ וְכָל־ נְשִׂיאֵ֣י קֵדָ֔ר הֵ֖מָּה סֹחֲרֵ֣י יָדֵ֑ךְ בְּכָרִ֤ים וְאֵילִים֙ וְעַתּוּדִ֔ים בָּ֖ם סֹחֲרָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ²² Les marchands de Schéba et de Raama trafiquaient avec toi ; ils payaient tes marchandises avec ce qu'il y a de mieux en aromates de toute sorte, avec toute espèce de pierres précieuses et avec de l'or.

KJV ²² The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

WLC ²² רֹכְלֵ֤י שְׁבָא֙ וְרַעְמָ֔ה הֵ֖מָּה רֹכְלָ֑יִךְ בְּרֹ֨אשׁ כָּל־ בֹּ֜שֶׂם וּבְכָל־ אֶ֤בֶן יְקָרָה֙ וְזָהָ֔ב נָתְנ֖וּ עִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃

BAN ²³ Haran, Canné et Eden, les marchands de Schéba, Assour et Kilmad trafiquaient avec toi.

KJV ²³ Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

WLC ²³ חָרָ֤ן וְכַנֵּה֙ וָעֶ֔דֶן רֹכְלֵ֖י שְׁבָ֑א אַשּׁ֖וּר כִּלְמַ֥ד רֹכַלְתֵּֽךְ׃

BAN ²⁴ Ils trafiquaient avec toi en objets de luxe, en manteaux de pourpre et de brocart, en coffres à vêtements, en cordes tressées et fortes et en planches de cèdre pour tes expéditions.

KJV ²⁴ These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

WLC ²⁴ הֵ֤מָּה רֹכְלַ֙יִךְ֙ בְּמַכְלֻלִ֔ים בִּגְלוֹמֵי֙ תְּכֵ֣לֶת וְרִקְמָ֔ה וּבְגִנְזֵ֖י בְּרֹמִ֑ים בַּחֲבָלִ֧ים חֲבֻשִׁ֛ים וַאֲרֻזִ֖ים בְּמַרְכֻלְתֵּֽךְ׃

BAN ²⁵ Les navires de Tharsis étaient les caravanes qui t'apportaient tes marchandises ; tu t'es remplie de biens ; tu es devenue très puissante au sein des mers.

KJV ²⁵ The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

WLC ²⁵ אֳנִיּ֣וֹת תַּרְשִׁ֔ישׁ שָׁרוֹתַ֖יִךְ מַעֲרָבֵ֑ךְ וַתִּמָּלְאִ֧י וַֽתִּכְבְּדִ֛י מְאֹ֖ד בְּלֵ֥ב־ יַמִּֽים׃

BAN ²⁶ Mais sur les grandes eaux où t'avaient conduite tes rameurs, le vent d'orient t'a brisée au sein des mers !

KJV ²⁶ Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

WLC ²⁶ בְּמַ֤יִם רַבִּים֙ הֱבִיא֔וּךְ הַשָּׁטִ֖ים אֹתָ֑ךְ ר֚וּחַ הַקָּדִ֔ים שְׁבָרֵ֖ךְ בְּלֵ֥ב יַמִּֽים׃

BAN ²⁷ Tes richesses, tes marchandises, ton trafic, tes marins et tes pilotes, tes radoubeurs, tes courtiers, tous les hommes de guerre qui sont chez toi, dans la multitude que tu portes, tomberont au sein des mers au jour de ta chute.

KJV ²⁷ Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

WLC ²⁷ הוֹנֵךְ֙ וְעִזְבוֹנַ֔יִךְ מַעֲרָבֵ֕ךְ מַלָּחַ֖יִךְ וְחֹבְלָ֑יִךְ מַחֲזִיקֵ֣י בִדְקֵ֣ך וְֽעֹרְבֵ֣י מַ֠עֲרָבֵךְ וְכָל־ אַנְשֵׁ֨י מִלְחַמְתֵּ֜ךְ אֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֗ךְ וּבְכָל־ קְהָלֵךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּתוֹכֵ֔ךְ יִפְּלוּ֙ בְּלֵ֣ב יַמִּ֔ים בְּי֖וֹם מַפַּלְתֵּֽךְ׃

BAN ²⁸ Au cri de tes pilotes la contrée d'alentour tremblera ;

KJV ²⁸ The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

WLC ²⁸ לְק֖וֹל זַעֲקַ֣ת חֹבְלָ֑יִךְ יִרְעֲשׁ֖וּ מִגְרֹשֽׁוֹת׃

BAN ²⁹ et quiconque manie une rame, tout marin et tout pilote de la mer, descendra de ses navires et se tiendra sur terre.

KJV ²⁹ And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;

WLC ²⁹ וְֽיָרְד֞וּ מֵאָנִיּֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם כֹּ֚ל תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י מָשׁ֔וֹט מַלָּחִ֕ים כֹּ֖ל חֹבְלֵ֣י הַיָּ֑ם אֶל־ הָאָ֖רֶץ יַעֲמֹֽדוּ׃

BAN ³⁰ Ils élèveront la voix sur toi et pousseront des cris amers. Ils jetteront de la poussière sur leurs têtes et se couvriront de cendre.

KJV ³⁰ And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

WLC ³⁰ וְהִשְׁמִ֤יעוּ עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ בְּקוֹלָ֔ם וְיִזְעֲק֖וּ מָרָ֑ה וְיַעֲל֤וּ עָֽפָר֙ עַל־ רָ֣אשֵׁיהֶ֔ם בָּאֵ֖פֶר יִתְפַּלָּֽשׁוּ׃

BAN ³¹ Pour toi ils se raseront la tête et se ceindront de sacs et pleureront amèrement sur toi, dans l'amertume de leur deuil.

KJV ³¹ And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.

WLC ³¹ וְהִקְרִ֤יחוּ אֵלַ֙יִךְ֙ קָרְחָ֔ה וְחָגְר֖וּ שַׂקִּ֑ים וּבָכ֥וּ אֵלַ֛יִךְ בְּמַר־ נֶ֖פֶשׁ מִסְפֵּ֥ד מָֽר׃

BAN ³² Dans leur douleur ils t'adresseront une complainte, et voici quelle sera leur complainte sur toi : Qui était comme Tyr, comme cette ville [maintenant] muette au milieu de la mer ?

KJV ³² And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

WLC ³² וְנָשְׂא֨וּ אֵלַ֤יִךְ בְּנִיהֶם֙ קִינָ֔ה וְקוֹנְנ֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ מִ֣י כְצ֔וֹר כְּדֻמָ֖ה בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּֽם׃

BAN ³³ Quand tes marchandises sortaient des mers, tu rassasiais des peuples nombreux ; de l'abondance de tes richesses et de ton trafic tu enrichissais les rois de la terre.

KJV ³³ When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

WLC ³³ בְּצֵ֤את עִזְבוֹנַ֙יִךְ֙ מִיַּמִּ֔ים הִשְׂבַּ֖עַתְּ עַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים בְּרֹ֤ב הוֹנַ֙יִךְ֙ וּמַ֣עֲרָבַ֔יִךְ הֶעֱשַׁ֖רְתְּ מַלְכֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ³⁴ Quand tu as été brisée par les mers et jetée au fond des eaux, ta cargaison et tout ton équipage ont sombré avec toi.

KJV ³⁴ In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.

WLC ³⁴ עֵ֛ת נִשְׁבֶּ֥רֶת מִיַּמִּ֖ים בְּמַֽעֲמַקֵּי־ מָ֑יִם מַעֲרָבֵ֥ךְ וְכָל־ קְהָלֵ֖ךְ בְּתוֹכֵ֥ךְ נָפָֽלוּ׃

BAN ³⁵ Tous les habitants des îles sont dans la stupeur à cause de toi ; leurs rois sont saisis d'effroi, leurs visages sont bouleversés.

KJV ³⁵ All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

WLC ³⁵ כֹּ֚ל יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאִיִּ֔ים שָׁמְמ֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ וּמַלְכֵיהֶם֙ שָׂ֣עֲרוּ שַׂ֔עַר רָעֲמ֖וּ פָּנִֽים׃

BAN ³⁶ Les marchands étrangers sifflent sur toi. Tu es un objet d'épouvante ; c'en est fait de toi pour toujours !

KJV ³⁶ The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

WLC ³⁶ סֹֽחֲרִים֙ בָּ֣עַמִּ֔ים שָׁרְק֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ בַּלָּה֣וֹת הָיִ֔ית וְאֵינֵ֖ךְ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃
