KJV 1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

KJV 2 Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;

VULC 2 Tu ergo, fili hominis, assume super Tyrum lamentum :

WLC 2 וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־ אָדָ֔ם שָׂ֥א עַל־ צֹ֖ר קִינָֽה׃

KJV 3 And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.

VULC 3 et dices Tyro, quæ habitat in introitu maris, negotiationi populorum ad insulas multas : [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :

WLC 3 וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְצ֗וֹר עַל־ מְבוֹאֹ֣ת יָ֔ם רֹכֶ֙לֶת֙ הָֽעַמִּ֔ים אֶל־ אִיִּ֖ים רַבִּ֑ים כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה צ֕וֹר אַ֣תְּ אָמַ֔רְתְּ אֲנִ֖י כְּלִ֥ילַת יֹֽפִי׃

KJV 4 Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

WLC 4 בְּלֵ֥ב יַמִּ֖ים גְּבוּלָ֑יִךְ בֹּנַ֕יִךְ כָּלְל֖וּ יָפְיֵֽךְ׃

KJV 5 They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.

KJV 6 Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.

et transtra tua fecerunt tibi ex ebore indico,
et prætoriola de insulis Italiæ.

KJV 7 Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.

KJV 8 The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.

sapientes tui, Tyre, facti sunt gubernatores tui.

KJV 9 The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.

omnes naves maris, et nautæ earum,

WLC 9 זִקְנֵ֨י גְבַ֤ל וַחֲכָמֶ֙יהָ֙ הָ֣יוּ בָ֔ךְ מַחֲזִיקֵ֖י בִּדְקֵ֑ךְ כָּל־ אֳנִיּ֨וֹת הַיָּ֤ם וּמַלָּֽחֵיהֶם֙ הָ֣יוּ בָ֔ךְ לַעֲרֹ֖ב מַעֲרָבֵֽךְ׃

KJV 10 They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

clypeum et galeam suspenderunt in te pro ornatu tuo.

KJV 11 The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.

VULC 11 Filii Aradii cum exercitu tuo erant super muros tuos in circuitu :
sed et Pigmæi qui erant in turribus tuis,
pharetras suas suspenderunt in muris tuis per gyrum :
ipsi compleverunt pulchritudinem tuam.

WLC 11 בְּנֵ֧י אַרְוַ֣ד וְחֵילֵ֗ךְ עַל־ חוֹמוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ סָבִ֔יב וְגַ֨מָּדִ֔ים בְּמִגְדְּלוֹתַ֖יִךְ הָי֑וּ שִׁלְטֵיהֶ֞ם תִּלּ֤וּ עַל־ חוֹמוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ סָבִ֔יב הֵ֖מָּה כָּלְל֥וּ יָפְיֵֽךְ׃

KJV 12 Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.

VULC 12 Carthaginenses negotiatores tui,
a multitudine cunctarum divitiarum,
argento, ferro, stanno, plumboque
repleverunt nundinas tuas.

WLC 12 תַּרְשִׁ֥ישׁ סֹחַרְתֵּ֖ךְ מֵרֹ֣ב כָּל־ ה֑וֹן בְּכֶ֤סֶף בַּרְזֶל֙ בְּדִ֣יל וְעוֹפֶ֔רֶת נָתְנ֖וּ עִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃

KJV 13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.

VULC 13 Græcia, Thubal, et Mosoch, ipsi institores tui :
mancipia, et vasa ærea advexerunt populo tuo.

KJV 14 They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

adduxerunt ad forum tuum.

WLC 14 מִבֵּ֖ית תּוֹגַרְמָ֑ה סוּסִ֤ים וּפָֽרָשִׁים֙ וּפְרָדִ֔ים נָתְנ֖וּ עִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃

KJV 15 The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.

VULC 15 Filii Dedan negotiatores tui ;
insulæ multæ, negotiatio manus tuæ :
dentes eburneos et hebeninos commutaverunt in pretio tuo.

WLC 15 בְּנֵ֤י דְדָן֙ רֹֽכְלַ֔יִךְ אִיִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים סְחֹרַ֣ת יָדֵ֑ךְ קַרְנ֥וֹת שֵׁן֙ הֵשִׁ֖יבוּ אֶשְׁכָּרֵֽךְ׃

KJV 16 Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

VULC 16 Syrus negotiator tuus propter multitudinem operum tuorum :
gemmam, et purpuram, et scutulata,
et byssum, et sericum, et chodchod
proposuerunt in mercatu tuo.

KJV 17 Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

VULC 17 Juda et terra Israël, ipsi institores tui in frumento primo :
balsamum, et mel, et oleum, et resinam
proposuerunt in nundinis tuis.

KJV 18 Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

in multitudine diversarum opum,
in vino pingui, in lanis coloris optimi.

WLC 18 דַּמֶּ֧שֶׂק סֹחַרְתֵּ֛ךְ בְּרֹ֥ב מַעֲשַׂ֖יִךְ מֵרֹ֣ב כָּל־ ה֑וֹן בְּיֵ֥ין חֶלְבּ֖וֹן וְצֶ֥מֶר צָֽחַר׃

KJV 19 Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

VULC 19 Dan, et Græcia, et Mosel,
in nundinis tuis proposuerunt ferrum fabrefactum :
stacte et calamus in negotiatione tua.

WLC 19 וְדָ֤ן וְיָוָן֙ מְאוּזָּ֔ל בְּעִזְבוֹנַ֖יִךְ נָתָ֑נּוּ בַּרְזֶ֤ל עָשׁוֹת֙ קִדָּ֣ה וְקָנֶ֔ה בְּמַעֲרָבֵ֖ךְ הָיָֽה׃

KJV 20 Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.

VULC 20 Dedan institores tui in tapetibus ad sedendum.

WLC 20 דְּדָן֙ רֹֽכַלְתֵּ֔ךְ בְבִגְדֵי־ חֹ֖פֶשׁ לְרִכְבָּֽה׃

KJV 21 Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.

VULC 21 Arabia et universi principes Cedar,
ipsi negotiatores manus tuæ :
cum agnis, et arietibus, et hædis,
venerunt ad te negotiatores tui.

WLC 21 עֲרַב֙ וְכָל־ נְשִׂיאֵ֣י קֵדָ֔ר הֵ֖מָּה סֹחֲרֵ֣י יָדֵ֑ךְ בְּכָרִ֤ים וְאֵילִים֙ וְעַתּוּדִ֔ים בָּ֖ם סֹחֲרָֽיִךְ׃

KJV 22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

cum universis primis aromatibus, et lapide pretioso, et auro,
quod proposuerunt in mercatu tuo.

KJV 23 Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

VULC 23 Haran, et Chene, et Eden, negotiatores tui ;
Saba, Assur, et Chelmad venditores tui.

WLC 23 חָרָ֤ן וְכַנֵּה֙ וָעֶ֔דֶן רֹכְלֵ֖י שְׁבָ֑א אַשּׁ֖וּר כִּלְמַ֥ד רֹכַלְתֵּֽךְ׃

KJV 24 These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

involucris hyacinthi, et polymitorum,
gazarumque pretiosarum,
quæ obvolutæ et astrictæ erant funibus :
cedros quoque habebant in negotiationibus tuis.

KJV 25 The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

KJV 26 Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

KJV 27 Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

VULC 27 Divitiæ tuæ, et thesauri tui,
et multiplex instrumentum tuum :
nautæ tui et gubernatores tui,
qui tenebant supellectilem tuam,
et populo tuo præerant :
viri quoque bellatores tui, qui erant in te,

WLC 27 הוֹנֵךְ֙ וְעִזְבוֹנַ֔יִךְ מַעֲרָבֵ֕ךְ מַלָּחַ֖יִךְ וְחֹבְלָ֑יִךְ מַחֲזִיקֵ֣י בִדְקֵ֣ך וְֽעֹרְבֵ֣י מַ֠עֲרָבֵךְ וְכָל־ אַנְשֵׁ֨י מִלְחַמְתֵּ֜ךְ אֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֗ךְ וּבְכָל־ קְהָלֵךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּתוֹכֵ֔ךְ יִפְּלוּ֙ בְּלֵ֣ב יַמִּ֔ים בְּי֖וֹם מַפַּלְתֵּֽךְ׃

KJV 28 The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

KJV 29 And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;

WLC 29 וְֽיָרְד֞וּ מֵאָנִיּֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם כֹּ֚ל תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י מָשׁ֔וֹט מַלָּחִ֕ים כֹּ֖ל חֹבְלֵ֣י הַיָּ֑ם אֶל־ הָאָ֖רֶץ יַעֲמֹֽדוּ׃

KJV 30 And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

VULC 30 Et ejulabunt super te voce magna :
et clamabunt amare,
et superjacient pulverem capitibus suis,
et cinere conspergentur.

WLC 30 וְהִשְׁמִ֤יעוּ עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ בְּקוֹלָ֔ם וְיִזְעֲק֖וּ מָרָ֑ה וְיַעֲל֤וּ עָֽפָר֙ עַל־ רָ֣אשֵׁיהֶ֔ם בָּאֵ֖פֶר יִתְפַּלָּֽשׁוּ׃

KJV 31 And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.

VULC 31 Et radent super te calvitium,
et accingentur ciliciis :
et plorabunt te in amaritudine animæ, ploratu amarissimo.

WLC 31 וְהִקְרִ֤יחוּ אֵלַ֙יִךְ֙ קָרְחָ֔ה וְחָגְר֖וּ שַׂקִּ֑ים וּבָכ֥וּ אֵלַ֛יִךְ בְּמַר־ נֶ֖פֶשׁ מִסְפֵּ֥ד מָֽר׃

KJV 32 And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

VULC 32 Et assument super te carmen lugubre,
et plangent te :
Quæ est ut Tyrus, quæ obmutuit in medio maris ?

WLC 32 וְנָשְׂא֨וּ אֵלַ֤יִךְ בְּנִיהֶם֙ קִינָ֔ה וְקוֹנְנ֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ מִ֣י כְצ֔וֹר כְּדֻמָ֖ה בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּֽם׃

KJV 33 When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

VULC 33 Quæ in exitu negotiationum tuarum de mari
implesti populos multos :
in multitudine divitiarum tuarum, et populorum tuorum,
ditasti reges terræ.

KJV 34 In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.

in profundis aquarum opes tuæ,
et omnis multitudo tua quæ erat in medio tui, ceciderunt.

KJV 35 All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

VULC 35 Universi habitatores insularum obstupuerunt super te,
et reges earum omnes tempestate perculsi mutaverunt vultus.

WLC 35 כֹּ֚ל יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאִיִּ֔ים שָׁמְמ֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ וּמַלְכֵיהֶם֙ שָׂ֣עֲרוּ שַׂ֔עַר רָעֲמ֖וּ פָּנִֽים׃

KJV 36 The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

VULC 36 Negotiatores populorum sibilaverunt super te :
ad nihilum deducta es,
et non eris usque in perpetuum.]

WLC 36 סֹֽחֲרִים֙ בָּ֣עַמִּ֔ים שָׁרְק֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ בַּלָּה֣וֹת הָיִ֔ית וְאֵינֵ֖ךְ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃
