KJV ² Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:

S21 ² «Fils de l'homme, annonce au chef de Tyr:
»Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Ton cœur s'est enorgueilli et tu as dit: ‘Je suis un dieu, je suis assis sur le trône de Dieu, au cœur de la mer!' Pourtant tu n'es qu'un homme et non un dieu, mais tu te considères au même niveau que Dieu!

VULC ² Fili hominis, dic principi Tyri : [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Eo quod elevatum est cor tuum,
et dixisti : Deus ego sum,
et in cathedra Dei sedi in corde maris,
cum sis homo, et non deus :
et dedisti cor tuum quasi cor Dei :

KJV ³ Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:

S21 ³ Tu te crois plus sage que Daniel, aucun mystère n'est trop grand pour toi.

VULC ³ ecce sapientior es tu Daniele :
omne secretum non est absconditum a te :

KJV ⁴ With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:

S21 ⁴ Par ta sagesse et ton intelligence, tu t'es acquis des richesses; tu as amassé de l'or et de l'argent dans tes trésors.

VULC ⁴ in sapientia et prudentia tua fecisti tibi fortitudinem,
et acquisisti aurum et argentum in thesauris tuis :

KJV ⁵ By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

S21 ⁵ Par la grandeur de ta sagesse et par ton commerce, tu as augmenté tes richesses, et ton cœur s'est enorgueilli à cause d'elles.

VULC ⁵ in multitudine sapientiæ tuæ,
et in negotiatione tua multiplicasti tibi fortitudinem,
et elevatum est cor tuum in robore tuo :

KJV ⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;

S21 ⁶ »C'est pourquoi, voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Puisque tu te considères au même niveau que Dieu,

VULC ⁶ propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Eo quod elevatum est cor tuum quasi cor dei,

KJV ⁷ Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.

S21 ⁷ je vais faire venir contre toi des étrangers, les plus violents parmi les nations. Ils tireront leur épée pour s'attaquer à ta belle sagesse et ils saliront ta splendeur.

VULC ⁷ idcirco ecce ego adducam super te alienos,
robustissimos gentium :
et nudabunt gladios suos super pulchritudinem sapientiæ tuæ,
et polluent decorem tuum.

KJV ⁸ They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.

S21 ⁸ Ils te précipiteront dans la tombe, tu mourras comme ceux qui tombent transpercés de coups, au cœur de la mer.

VULC ⁸ Interficient, et detrahent te :
et morieris in interitu occisorum in corde maris.

KJV ⁹ Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.

S21 ⁹ Diras-tu vraiment: ‘Je suis Dieu' en face de celui qui te tue? Tu ne seras qu'un homme et non un dieu, entre les mains de ceux qui te transperceront!

VULC ⁹ Numquid dicens loqueris : Deus ego sum,
coram interficientibus te,
cum sis homo, et non deus,
in manu occidentium te ?

KJV ¹⁰ Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.

S21 ¹⁰ Tu mourras de la mort des incirconcis, suite à l'intervention d'étrangers. En effet, c'est moi qui ai parlé, déclare le Seigneur, l'Eternel.»

VULC ¹⁰ Morte incircumcisorum morieris in manu alienorum,
quia ego locutus sum, ait Dominus Deus.]

KJV ¹¹ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

S21 ¹¹ La parole de l'Eternel m'a été adressée:

VULC ¹¹ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens : Fili hominis, leva planctum super regem Tyri,

KJV ¹² Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

S21 ¹² «Fils de l'homme, prononce une complainte sur le roi de Tyr! Tu lui annonceras: ‘Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Tu représentais la perfection. Tu étais plein de sagesse, tu étais d'une beauté parfaite.

VULC ¹² et dices ei : [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Tu signaculum similitudinis,
plenus sapientia, et perfectus decore.

KJV ¹³ Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

S21 ¹³ Tu étais en Eden, le jardin de Dieu. Tu étais couvert de toutes sortes de pierres précieuses – de sardoine, de topaze, de diamant, de chrysolithe, d'onyx, de jaspe, de saphir, d'escarboucle, d'émeraude – ainsi que d'or. Tes tambourins et tes flûtes étaient à ton service, préparés pour le jour où tu as été créé.

VULC ¹³ In deliciis paradisi Dei fuisti :
omnis lapis pretiosus operimentum tuum,
sardius, topazius, et jaspis,
chrysolithus, et onyx, et beryllus,
sapphirus, et carbunculus, et smaragdus :
aurum, opus decoris tui :
et foramina tua, in die qua conditus es, præparata sunt.

KJV ¹⁴ Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

S21 ¹⁴ »Tu étais un chérubin protecteur, aux ailes déployées. Je t'avais installé, et tu y étais, sur la sainte montagne de Dieu, tu marchais au milieu des pierres étincelantes.

VULC ¹⁴ Tu cherub extentus, et protegens,
et posui te in monte sancto Dei :
in medio lapidum ignitorum ambulasti,

KJV ¹⁵ Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

S21 ¹⁵ Tu as été intègre dans ta conduite depuis le jour où tu as été créé, et ce jusqu'à ce qu'on trouve de l'injustice chez toi.

VULC ¹⁵ perfectus in viis tuis a die conditionis tuæ,
donec inventa est iniquitas in te.

KJV ¹⁶ By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

S21 ¹⁶ A cause de la grandeur de ton commerce, tu as été rempli de violence et tu as péché. Je te précipite de la montagne de Dieu et je te fais disparaître, chérubin protecteur, du milieu des pierres étincelantes.

VULC ¹⁶ In multitudine negotiationis tuæ
repleta sunt interiora tua iniquitate, et peccasti :
et ejeci te de monte Dei,
et perdidi te, o cherub protegens, de medio lapidum ignitorum.

KJV ¹⁷ Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

S21 ¹⁷ »Ton cœur s'est enorgueilli à cause de ta beauté, tu as corrompu ta sagesse à cause de ta splendeur. Je te jette par terre, je te livre en spectacle aux rois.

VULC ¹⁷ Et elevatum est cor tuum in decore tuo ;
perdidisti sapientiam tuam in decore tuo :
in terram projeci te ;
ante faciem regum dedi te ut cernerent te.

KJV ¹⁸ Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

S21 ¹⁸ Par le grand nombre de tes fautes, par l'injustice de ton commerce, tu as profané tes sanctuaires. Je fais sortir du milieu de toi un feu qui te dévore, je te réduis en cendres sur la terre devant tous ceux qui te regardent.

VULC ¹⁸ In multitudine iniquitatum tuarum,
et iniquitate negotiationis tuæ,
polluisti sanctificationem tuam :
producam ergo ignem de medio tui, qui comedat te,
et dabo te in cinerem super terram,
in conspectu omnium videntium te.

KJV ¹⁹ All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

S21 ¹⁹ Tous ceux qui te connaissent parmi les peuples sont consternés à cause de ce qui t'arrive, tu provoques de la terreur. Tu n'existeras plus jamais!'»

VULC ¹⁹ Omnes qui viderint te in gentibus, obstupescent super te :
nihili factus es, et non eris in perpetuum.]

KJV ²⁰ Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

S21 ²⁰ La parole de l'Eternel m'a été adressée:

VULC ²⁰ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :

KJV ²¹ Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,

S21 ²¹ «Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage vers Sidon et prophétise contre elle!

VULC ²¹ Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam contra Sidonem, et prophetabis de ea :

KJV ²² And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

S21 ²² Tu annonceras: ‘Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Je t'en veux, Sidon! Ma gloire sera manifestée au milieu de toi.'
»Ils reconnaîtront que je suis l'Eternel, quand je mettrai mes jugements en œuvre contre elle, quand je manifesterai ma sainteté au milieu d'elle.

VULC ²² et dices : [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Ecce ego ad te, Sidon,
et glorificabor in medio tui :
et scient quia ego Dominus,
cum fecero in ea judicia,
et sanctificatus fuero in ea.

KJV ²³ For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

S21 ²³ J'enverrai la peste chez elle et je ferai couler le sang dans ses rues. Les victimes tomberont au milieu d'elle à cause de l'épée qui la frappera de tous côtés. Ils reconnaîtront alors que je suis l'Eternel.

VULC ²³ Et immittam ei pestilentiam,
et sanguinem in plateis ejus :
et corruent interfecti in medio ejus gladio per circuitum,
et scient quia ego Dominus.

KJV ²⁴ And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

S21 ²⁴ Ainsi, il n'y aura plus, pour la communauté d'Israël, d'épine qui blesse, de ronce qui fait mal, parmi tous ses voisins qui la méprisent. Ils reconnaîtront alors que je suis le Seigneur, l'Eternel.

VULC ²⁴ Et non erit ultra domui Israël offendiculum amaritudinis,
et spina dolorem inferens undique
per circuitum eorum qui adversantur eis :
et scient quia ego Dominus Deus.

KJV ²⁵ Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.

S21 ²⁵ »Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: En rassemblant la communauté d'Israël de tous les peuples chez lesquels elle est éparpillée, je manifesterai à travers eux ma sainteté aux yeux des nations. Les Israélites habiteront leur territoire, celui que j'ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob.

VULC ²⁵ Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Quando congregavero domum Israël
de populis in quibus dispersi sunt,
sanctificabor in eis coram gentibus :
et habitabunt in terra sua,
quam dedi servo meo Jacob :

KJV ²⁶ And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.

S21 ²⁶ Ils y habiteront en sécurité. Ils construiront des maisons et planteront des vignes. Ils y habiteront en sécurité quand j'aurai mis en œuvre mes jugements contre tous ceux de leurs voisins qui les méprisent. Ils reconnaîtront alors que je suis l'Eternel, leur Dieu.»

VULC ²⁶ et habitabunt in ea securi,
et ædificabunt domos, et plantabunt vineas,
et habitabunt confidenter,
cum fecero judicia in omnibus qui adversantur eis per circuitum :
et scient quia ego Dominus Deus eorum.]
