KJV ² So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

S21 ² J'ai ouvert ma bouche et il m'a donné ce livre à manger.

KJV ³ And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

S21 ³ Il m'a dit: «Fils de l'homme, nourris ton ventre et remplis tes intestins avec ce livre, celui que je te donne!» Alors *je l'ai avalé, et dans ma bouche il a été doux comme du miel.

KJV ⁴ And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

S21 ⁴ Il m'a dit: «Fils de l'homme, va trouver la communauté d'Israël et communique-leur mes paroles!

KJV ⁵ For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

S21 ⁵ En effet, ce n'est pas vers un peuple dont le langage est obscur et la langue difficile que tu es envoyé, c'est vers la communauté d'Israël.

KJV ⁶ Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

S21 ⁶ Non, ce n'est pas vers de nombreux peuples dont le langage est obscur et la langue difficile, dont tu ne comprends pas les paroles. Si je t'envoyais vers eux, eux, ils t'écouteraient.

KJV ⁷ But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

S21 ⁷ Mais la communauté d'Israël ne voudra pas t'écouter parce qu'elle ne veut pas m'écouter. En effet, toute la communauté d'Israël a le front dur et le cœur endurci.

KJV ⁸ Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

S21 ⁸ Cependant, j'ai endurci ton visage pour résister à leur visage, et ton front pour résister à leur front.

KJV ⁹ As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

S21 ⁹ J'ai rendu ton front aussi dur qu'un diamant, plus dur que la pierre. Tu n'auras pas peur d'eux et tu ne te laisseras pas effrayer par eux, même si c'est une communauté de rebelles.»

KJV ¹⁰ Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

S21 ¹⁰ Il m'a dit: «Fils de l'homme, que ton cœur accepte et que tes oreilles écoutent toutes les paroles que je te dirai!

KJV ¹¹ And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

S21 ¹¹ Va trouver les exilés, les membres de ton peuple! Tu leur parleras et, qu'ils écoutent ou qu'ils n'écoutent pas, tu leur diras: ‘Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.'»

KJV ¹² Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

S21 ¹² Puis l'Esprit m'a enlevé et j'ai entendu derrière moi le bruit d'une grande exclamation: «Bénie soit la gloire de l'Eternel qui se manifeste depuis l'endroit où il réside!»

KJV ¹³ I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

S21 ¹³ J'ai entendu le bruit des ailes des êtres vivants qui se touchaient l'une l'autre, le bruit des roues auprès d'eux et le bruit de cette grande exclamation.

KJV ¹⁴ So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

S21 ¹⁴ L'Esprit m'a donc enlevé et m'a emporté. Je suis parti, amer et furieux, tandis que la main de l'Eternel agissait sur moi avec puissance.

KJV ¹⁵ Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

S21 ¹⁷ «Fils de l'homme, je te donne comme sentinelle à la communauté d'Israël. Tu écouteras la parole qui sort de ma bouche et tu les avertiras de ma part.

KJV ¹⁸ When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

S21 ¹⁸ Quand je dirai au méchant: ‘Tu vas mourir, c'est certain', si tu ne l'avertis pas, si tu ne parles pas pour avertir le méchant afin qu'il renonce à sa mauvaise conduite et reste en vie, ce méchant mourra à cause de sa faute, mais je te réclamerai son sang.

KJV ¹⁹ Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

S21 ¹⁹ Si au contraire tu avertis le méchant et qu'il ne renonce pas à sa méchanceté ni à sa mauvaise conduite, il mourra à cause de sa faute, mais toi, tu auras délivré ton âme.

KJV ²⁰ Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

S21 ²⁰ Si un juste renonce à sa justice et commet l'injustice, je mettrai un piège devant lui et il mourra. Parce que tu ne l'auras pas averti, il mourra à cause de son péché et l'on ne se souviendra plus de la justice qu'il avait pratiquée, mais je te réclamerai son sang.

KJV ²¹ Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

S21 ²¹ Si au contraire tu avertis le juste pour qu'il ne commette pas de péché, et qu'il ne pèche pas, il restera en vie parce qu'il s'est laissé avertir et toi, tu auras délivré ton âme.»

KJV ²² And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

S21 ²² Là encore la main de l'Eternel reposait sur moi. Il m'a dit: «Lève-toi, sors dans la vallée et là-bas je te parlerai.»

KJV ²³ Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

S21 ²³ Je me suis levé et je suis sorti dans la vallée. Et voici que la gloire de l'Eternel se tenait là, telle que je l'avais vue près du fleuve Kebar. Alors je suis tombé le visage contre terre.

KJV ²⁴ Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

S21 ²⁴ L'Esprit est entré en moi et m'a mis debout sur mes pieds. Il m'a parlé et m'a dit: «Va t'enfermer chez toi.

KJV ²⁵ But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

S21 ²⁵ Fils de l'homme, on mettra sur toi des cordes, avec lesquelles on t'attachera afin que tu ne puisses pas aller au milieu d'eux.

KJV ²⁶ And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

S21 ²⁶ Je collerai ta langue à ton palais pour que tu sois muet et ne puisses pas leur adresser de reproches, car c'est une communauté de rebelles.

KJV ²⁷ But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

S21 ²⁷ Cependant, quand je te parlerai, j'ouvrirai ta bouche pour que tu leur dises: ‘Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.' Que celui qui voudra écouter écoute, et que celui qui ne voudra pas n'écoute pas! En effet, c'est une communauté de rebelles.
