KJV ² Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Howl ye, Woe worth the day!

WLC ² בֶּן־ אָדָ֕ם הִנָּבֵא֙ וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה הֵילִ֖ילוּ הָ֥הּ לַיּֽוֹם׃

BCC ³ Car le jour est proche, le jour est proche pour Yahweh ! Jour de nuage ! Ce sera le temps des nations !

KJV ³ For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen.

VULC ³ quia juxta est dies,
et appropinquat dies Domini, dies nubis :
tempus gentium erit.

WLC ³ כִּֽי־ קָר֣וֹב י֔וֹם וְקָר֥וֹב י֖וֹם לַֽיהוָ֑ה י֣וֹם עָנָ֔ן עֵ֥ת גּוֹיִ֖ם יִֽהְיֶֽה׃

BCC ⁴ Une épée viendra sur l'Égypte, et il y aura de l'angoisse en Éthiopie, lorsque les blessés à mort tomberont en Égypte, quand on enlèvera ses richesses, et qu'on renversera ses fondements.

KJV ⁴ And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.

VULC ⁴ Et veniet gladius in Ægyptum,
et erit pavor in Æthiopia,
cum ceciderint vulnerati in Ægypto,
et ablata fuerit multitudo illius,
et destructa fundamenta ejus.

WLC ⁴ וּבָאָ֥ה חֶ֙רֶב֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וְהָיְתָ֤ה חַלְחָלָה֙ בְּכ֔וּשׁ בִּנְפֹ֥ל חָלָ֖ל בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם וְלָקְח֣וּ הֲמוֹנָ֔הּ וְנֶהֶרְס֖וּ יְסוֹדֹתֶֽיהָ׃

BCC ⁵ Éthiopiens, Libyens et Lydiens, étrangers de toutes sortes, Chub et les fils du pays de l'alliance tomberont avec eux par l'épée.

KJV ⁵ Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

WLC ⁵ כּ֣וּשׁ וּפ֤וּט וְלוּד֙ וְכָל־ הָעֶ֣רֶב וְכ֔וּב וּבְנֵ֖י אֶ֣רֶץ הַבְּרִ֑ית אִתָּ֖ם בַּחֶ֥רֶב יִפֹּֽלוּ׃

BCC ⁶ Ainsi parle Yahweh : ils tomberont les soutiens de l'Égypte, et l'orgueil de sa force sera abaissé. De Migdol à Syène on y tombera par l'épée ; ‒ oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.

KJV ⁶ Thus saith the LORD; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.

Et corruent fulcientes Ægyptum,
et destruetur superbia imperii ejus :
a turre Syenes gladio cadent in ea,
ait Dominus Deus exercituum.

WLC ⁶ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וְנָֽפְלוּ֙ סֹמְכֵ֣י מִצְרַ֔יִם וְיָרַ֖ד גְּא֣וֹן עֻזָּ֑הּ מִמִּגְדֹּ֣ל סְוֵנֵ֗ה בַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ יִפְּלוּ־ בָ֔הּ נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

BCC ⁷ Elle sera désolée au milieu des pays désolés, et ses villes seront ruinées au milieu des villes ruinées ;

KJV ⁷ And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.

VULC ⁷ Et dissipabuntur in medio terrarum desolatarum,
et urbes ejus in medio civitatum desertarum erunt :

WLC ⁷ וְנָשַׁ֕מּוּ בְּת֖וֹךְ אֲרָצ֣וֹת נְשַׁמּ֑וֹת וְעָרָ֕יו בְּתוֹךְ־ עָרִ֥ים נַחֲרָב֖וֹת תִּֽהְיֶֽינָה׃

BCC ⁸ et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh, quand je mettrai le feu à l'Égypte et que tous ses auxiliaires seront brisés.

KJV ⁸ And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.

VULC ⁸ et scient quia ego Dominus,
cum dedero ignem in Ægypto,
et attriti fuerint omnes auxiliatores ejus.

WLC ⁸ וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה בְּתִתִּי־ אֵ֣שׁ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וְנִשְׁבְּר֖וּ כָּל־ עֹזְרֶֽיהָ׃

BCC ⁹ En ce jour-là, des messagers s'en iront de ma part sur des barques, pour troubler l'Éthiopie dans sa sécurité, et il y aura chez elle de l'angoisse, comme dans le jour de l'Égypte, car voici qu'il arrive !

KJV ⁹ In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it cometh.

BCC ¹⁰ Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : je ferai cesser tout le bruit de l'Égypte, par la main de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone.

KJV ¹⁰ Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

Cessare faciam multitudinem Ægypti
in manu Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis.

WLC ¹⁰ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ אֶת־ הֲמ֣וֹן מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּיַ֖ד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶלֶךְ־ בָּבֶֽל׃

BCC ¹¹ Lui et son peuple avec lui, nation féroce entre toutes, seront amenés pour ravager le pays ; ils tireront leurs épées contre l'Égypte, et rempliront de morts le pays.

KJV ¹¹ He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

VULC ¹¹ Ipse et populus ejus cum eo, fortissimi gentium,
adducentur ad disperdendam terram :
et evaginabunt gladios suos super Ægyptum,
et implebunt terram interfectis.

WLC ¹¹ ה֠וּא וְעַמּ֤וֹ אִתּוֹ֙ עָרִיצֵ֣י גוֹיִ֔ם מֽוּבָאִ֖ים לְשַׁחֵ֣ת הָאָ֑רֶץ וְהֵרִ֤יקוּ חַרְבוֹתָם֙ עַל־ מִצְרַ֔יִם וּמָלְא֥וּ אֶת־ הָאָ֖רֶץ חָלָֽל׃

BCC ¹² Je changerai les fleuves en lieux arides ; je livrerai le pays aux mains d'hommes méchants, et je dévasterai le pays et tout ce qu'il contient, par la main des étrangers. Moi, Yahweh, j'ai parlé.

KJV ¹² And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the LORD have spoken it.

BCC ¹³ Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : J'exterminerai les infâmes idoles, et je ferai disparaître de Noph les faux dieux, et il n'y aura plus de prince sorti du pays d'Égypte, et je répandrai la crainte dans le pays d'Égypte.

KJV ¹³ Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

Et disperdam simulacra,
et cessare faciam idola de Memphis :
et dux de terra Ægypti non erit amplius,

BCC ¹⁴ Je désolerai Pathros, je mettrai le feu à Tsoan, j'exercerai des jugements sur No ;

KJV ¹⁴ And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No.

VULC ¹⁴ Et disperdam terram Phathures,
et dabo ignem in Taphnis,
et faciam judicia in Alexandria.

WLC ¹⁴ וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִי֙ אֶת־ פַּתְר֔וֹס וְנָתַ֥תִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּצֹ֑עַן וְעָשִׂ֥יתִי שְׁפָטִ֖ים בְּנֹֽא׃

BCC ¹⁵ Je répandrai non courroux sur Sin, la forteresse de l'Égypte, et j'exterminerai la multitude de No.

KJV ¹⁵ And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

VULC ¹⁵ Et effundam indignationem meam super Pelusium, robur Ægypti,
et interficiam multitudinem Alexandriæ.

WLC ¹⁵ וְשָׁפַכְתִּ֣י חֲמָתִ֔י עַל־ סִ֖ין מָע֣וֹז מִצְרָ֑יִם וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י אֶת־ הֲמ֥וֹן נֹֽא׃

BCC ¹⁶ Je mettrai le feu à l'Égypte ; Sin se tordra de douleur, No sera forcée, et Noph se verra assaillie en plein jour.

KJV ¹⁶ And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily.

VULC ¹⁶ Et dabo ignem in Ægypto :
quasi parturiens dolebit Pelusium,
et Alexandria erit dissipata,
et in Memphis angustiæ quotidianæ.

BCC ¹⁷ Les jeunes hommes d'Aven et de Bubaste tomberont par l'épée, et elles-mêmes iront en captivité.

KJV ¹⁷ The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity.

VULC ¹⁷ Juvenes Heliopoleos et Bubasti gladio cadent,
et ipsæ captivæ ducentur.

WLC ¹⁷ בַּח֥וּרֵי אָ֛וֶן וּפִי־ בֶ֖סֶת בַּחֶ֣רֶב יִפֹּ֑לוּ וְהֵ֖נָּה בַּשְּׁבִ֥י תֵלַֽכְנָה׃

BCC ¹⁸ À Taphnés le jour s'obscurcira, quand je briserai là le joug de l'Égypte, et que l'orgueil de sa force y prendra fin. Un nuage la couvrira, et ses filles iront en captivité.

KJV ¹⁸ At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

cum contrivero ibi sceptra Ægypti,
et defecerit in ea superbia potentiæ ejus :
ipsam nubes operiet,
filiæ autem ejus in captivitatem ducentur.

WLC ¹⁸ וּבִֽתְחַפְנְחֵס֙ חָשַׂ֣ךְ הַיּ֔וֹם בְּשִׁבְרִי־ שָׁם֙ אֶת־ מֹט֣וֹת מִצְרַ֔יִם וְנִשְׁבַּת־ בָּ֖הּ גְּא֣וֹן עֻזָּ֑הּ הִ֚יא עָנָ֣ן יְכַסֶּ֔נָּה וּבְנוֹתֶ֖יהָ בַּשְּׁבִ֥י תֵלַֽכְנָה׃

BCC ¹⁹ J'exercerai des jugements sur l'Égypte, et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh. »

KJV ¹⁹ Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

WLC ²⁰ וַיְהִ֗י בְּאַחַ֤ת עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה בָּֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן בְּשִׁבְעָ֣ה לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ הָיָ֥ה דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

BCC ²¹ « Fils de l'homme, le bras de Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, je l'ai brisé, et voici qu'on ne l'a point pansé, en employant des remèdes, en appliquant des bandes, pour le panser et le rendre assez fort pour manier l'épée.

KJV ²¹ Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword.

VULC ²¹ [Fili hominis, brachium Pharaonis regis Ægypti confregi,
et ecce non est obvolutum ut restitueretur ei sanitas,
ut ligaretur pannis, et fasciaretur linteolis,
ut recepto robore posset tenere gladium.

WLC ²¹ בֶּן־ אָדָ֕ם אֶת־ זְר֛וֹעַ פַּרְעֹ֥ה מֶֽלֶךְ־ מִצְרַ֖יִם שָׁבָ֑רְתִּי וְהִנֵּ֣ה לֹֽא־ חֻ֠בְּשָׁה לָתֵ֨ת רְפֻא֜וֹת לָשׂ֥וּם חִתּ֛וּל לְחָבְשָׁ֥הּ לְחָזְקָ֖הּ לִתְפֹּ֥שׂ בֶּחָֽרֶב׃

BCC ²² C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : voici que je viens à Pharaon, roi d'Égypte ; je lui briserai les deux bras, celui qui est valide et celui qui est déjà brisé, et je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main.

KJV ²² Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

VULC ²² Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus :
Ecce ego ad Pharaonem regem Ægypti,
et comminuam brachium ejus forte, sed confractum :
et dejiciam gladium de manu ejus,

WLC ²² לָכֵ֞ן כֹּה־ אָמַ֣ר ׀ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהֹוִ֗ה הִנְנִי֙ אֶל־ פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־ מִצְרַ֔יִם וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ אֶת־ זְרֹ֣עֹתָ֔יו אֶת־ הַחֲזָקָ֖ה וְאֶת־ הַנִּשְׁבָּ֑רֶת וְהִפַּלְתִּ֥י אֶת־ הַחֶ֖רֶב מִיָּדֽוֹ׃

BCC ²³ Je disperserai les Égyptiens parmi les nations, et les disséminerai dans les pays.

KJV ²³ And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

VULC ²³ et dispergam Ægyptum in gentibus,
et ventilabo eos in terris.

WLC ²³ וַהֲפִצוֹתִ֥י אֶת־ מִצְרַ֖יִם בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם וְזֵרִיתִ֖ם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

BCC ²⁴ Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone ; et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main ; je briserai les bras de Pharaon, et il gémira devant lui, comme gémit un homme blessé à mort.

KJV ²⁴ And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

VULC ²⁴ Et confortabo brachia regis Babylonis,
daboque gladium meum in manu ejus,
et confringam brachia Pharaonis,
et gement gemitibus interfecti coram facie ejus.

WLC ²⁴ וְחִזַּקְתִּ֗י אֶת־ זְרֹעוֹת֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וְנָתַתִּ֥י אֶת־ חַרְבִּ֖י בְּיָד֑וֹ וְשָׁבַרְתִּי֙ אֶת־ זְרֹע֣וֹת פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְנָאַ֛ק נַאֲק֥וֹת חָלָ֖ל לְפָנָֽיו׃

BCC ²⁵ Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, et les bras de Pharaon tomberont, et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh, quand je mettrai mon épée dans la main du roi de Babylone et qu'ils la tournera contre le pays d'Égypte.

KJV ²⁵ But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.

et brachia Pharaonis concident :
et scient quia ego Dominus,
cum dedero gladium meum in manu regis Babylonis,
et extenderit eum super terram Ægypti.

WLC ²⁵ וְהַחֲזַקְתִּ֗י אֶת־ זְרֹעוֹת֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וּזְרֹע֥וֹת פַּרְעֹ֖ה תִּפֹּ֑לְנָה וְֽיָדְע֞וּ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֗ה בְּתִתִּ֤י חַרְבִּי֙ בְּיַ֣ד מֶֽלֶךְ־ בָּבֶ֔ל וְנָטָ֥ה אוֹתָ֖הּ אֶל־ אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
