S21 ¹ La main de l'Eternel reposait sur moi et l'Eternel m'a transporté par son Esprit pour me déposer au milieu de la vallée. Celle-ci était remplie d'ossements.

KJV ² And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

S21 ² Il m'a fait passer près d'eux, tout autour. J'ai constaté qu'ils étaient très nombreux sur le sol de la vallée et qu'ils étaient complètement secs.

KJV ³ And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

S21 ³ Il m'a dit: «Fils de l'homme, ces os pourront-ils revivre?» J'ai répondu: «Seigneur Eternel, c'est toi qui le sais.»

KJV ⁴ Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

S21 ⁴ Puis il m'a dit: «Prophétise sur ces os! Tu leur annonceras: ‘Ossements desséchés, écoutez la parole de l'Eternel!'

KJV ⁵ Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

S21 ⁵ Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel, à ces os: ‘Je vais faire entrer un esprit en vous et vous vivrez.

WLC ⁵ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה לָעֲצָמ֖וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה הִנֵּ֨ה אֲנִ֜י מֵבִ֥יא בָכֶ֛ם ר֖וּחַ וִחְיִיתֶֽם׃

KJV ⁶ And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

S21 ⁶ Je vous donnerai des nerfs, je ferai pousser sur vous de la chair, je vous recouvrirai de peau, je mettrai un esprit en vous et vous vivrez. Vous reconnaîtrez alors que je suis l'Eternel.'»

WLC ⁶ וְנָתַתִּי֩ עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם גִּדִ֜ים וְֽהַעֲלֵתִ֧י עֲלֵיכֶ֣ם בָּשָׂ֗ר וְקָרַמְתִּ֤י עֲלֵיכֶם֙ ע֔וֹר וְנָתַתִּ֥י בָכֶ֛ם ר֖וּחַ וִחְיִיתֶ֑ם וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

S21 ⁷ J'ai prophétisé conformément à l'ordre que j'avais reçu. Alors que je prophétisais, il y a eu un bruit: un mouvement s'est produit et les os se sont rapprochés les uns des autres.

WLC ⁷ וְנִבֵּ֖אתִי כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צֻוֵּ֑יתִי וַֽיְהִי־ ק֤וֹל כְּהִנָּֽבְאִי֙ וְהִנֵּה־ רַ֔עַשׁ וַתִּקְרְב֣וּ עֲצָמ֔וֹת עֶ֖צֶם אֶל־ עַצְמֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁸ And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

S21 ⁸ J'ai regardé et j'ai vu qu'il leur apparaissait des nerfs; la chair a commencé à pousser et la peau les a recouverts en dernier, mais il n'y avait pas d'esprit en eux.

WLC ⁸ וְרָאִ֜יתִי וְהִנֵּֽה־ עֲלֵיהֶ֤ם גִּדִים֙ וּבָשָׂ֣ר עָלָ֔ה וַיִּקְרַ֧ם עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם ע֖וֹר מִלְמָ֑עְלָה וְר֖וּחַ אֵ֥ין בָּהֶֽם׃

KJV ⁹ Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

S21 ⁹ Il m'a dit: «Prophétise à l'intention de l'Esprit, prophétise, fils de l'homme! Tu annonceras à l'Esprit: ‘Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Esprit, viens des quatre vents, souffle sur ces morts et qu'ils revivent!'»

KJV ¹⁰ So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

S21 ¹⁰ J'ai prophétisé conformément à l'ordre qu'il m'avait donné. Alors l'Esprit est entré en eux et ils ont repris vie, puis ils se sont tenus sur leurs pieds. C'était une armée nombreuse, très nombreuse.

WLC ¹⁰ וְהִנַּבֵּ֖אתִי כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֑נִי וַתָּבוֹא֩ בָהֶ֨ם הָר֜וּחַ וַיִּֽחְי֗וּ וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙ עַל־ רַגְלֵיהֶ֔ם חַ֖יִל גָּד֥וֹל מְאֹד־ מְאֹֽד׃

KJV ¹¹ Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

S21 ¹¹ Il m'a dit: «Fils de l'homme, ces ossements, c'est toute la communauté d'Israël. Ils affirment: ‘Nos os sont desséchés, notre espérance est détruite, nous sommes anéantis!'

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּאמֶר֮ אֵלַי֒ בֶּן־ אָדָ֕ם הָעֲצָמ֣וֹת הָאֵ֔לֶּה כָּל־ בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵ֑מָּה הִנֵּ֣ה אֹמְרִ֗ים יָבְשׁ֧וּ עַצְמוֹתֵ֛ינוּ וְאָבְדָ֥ה תִקְוָתֵ֖נוּ נִגְזַ֥רְנוּ לָֽנוּ׃

KJV ¹² Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

KJV ¹³ And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

KJV ¹⁴ And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

S21 ¹⁴ Je mettrai mon Esprit en vous, vous vivrez et je vous donnerai du repos sur votre territoire. Vous reconnaîtrez alors que moi, l'Eternel, j'ai parlé et agi, déclare l'Eternel.'»

KJV ¹⁶ Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions:

S21 ¹⁶ «Quant à toi, fils de l'homme, prends un morceau de bois et écris dessus: ‘Pour Juda et pour les Israélites qui s'y rattachent.' Prends un autre morceau de bois et écris dessus: ‘Pour Joseph, le bois d'Ephraïm, et pour toute la communauté d'Israël qui s'y rattache.'

KJV ¹⁷ And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

KJV ¹⁸ And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

KJV ¹⁹ Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

S21 ¹⁹ réponds-leur: ‘Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Je vais prendre le bois de Joseph qui est dans la main d'Ephraïm, ainsi que les tribus d'Israël qui s'y rattachent, je les joindrai au bois de Juda et je n'en ferai plus qu'un seul morceau de bois, si bien qu'ils seront unis dans ma main.'

KJV ²⁰ And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

KJV ²¹ And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

KJV ²² And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

S21 ²² Je ferai d'eux une seule nation dans le pays, dans les montagnes d'Israël. Ils auront tous un même roi, ils ne formeront plus deux nations et ne seront plus divisés en deux royaumes.

WLC ²² וְעָשִׂ֣יתִי אֹ֠תָם לְג֨וֹי אֶחָ֤ד בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ בְּהָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמֶ֧לֶךְ אֶחָ֛ד יִֽהְיֶ֥ה לְכֻלָּ֖ם לְמֶ֑לֶךְ וְלֹ֤א עוֹד֙ לִשְׁנֵ֣י גוֹיִ֔ם וְלֹ֨א יֵחָ֥צוּ ע֛וֹד לִשְׁתֵּ֥י מַמְלָכ֖וֹת עֽוֹד׃

KJV ²³ Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

S21 ²³ Ils ne se rendront plus impurs par leurs idoles, ni par leurs monstruosités et toutes leurs transgressions. Je les sauverai de tous les lieux d'habitation où ils ont péché, et je les purifierai. Ils seront mon peuple et je serai leur Dieu.

KJV ²⁴ And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

S21 ²⁴ Mon serviteur David sera leur roi et ils auront tous un seul berger. Ils suivront mes règles, ils respecteront mes prescriptions et les mettront en pratique.

WLC ²⁴ וְעַבְדִּ֤י דָוִד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְרוֹעֶ֥ה אֶחָ֖ד יִהְיֶ֣ה לְכֻלָּ֑ם וּבְמִשְׁפָּטַ֣י יֵלֵ֔כוּ וְחֻקֹּתַ֥י יִשְׁמְר֖וּ וְעָשׂ֥וּ אוֹתָֽם׃

KJV ²⁵ And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

S21 ²⁵ Ils habiteront le pays que j'ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob, celui que vos ancêtres ont habité. Ils y habiteront, ainsi que leurs enfants et petits-enfants, pour toujours, et mon serviteur David sera leur prince pour toujours.

WLC ²⁵ וְיָשְׁב֣וּ עַל־ הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָתַ֙תִּי֙ לְעַבְדִּ֣י לְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָֽשְׁבוּ־ בָ֖הּ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וְיָשְׁב֣וּ עָלֶ֡יהָ הֵ֠מָּה וּבְנֵיהֶ֞ם וּבְנֵ֤י בְנֵיהֶם֙ עַד־ עוֹלָ֔ם וְדָוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֔י נָשִׂ֥יא לָהֶ֖ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

S21 ²⁶ Je conclurai avec eux une alliance de paix qui sera une alliance éternelle. Je les établirai, je les multiplierai et je placerai pour toujours mon sanctuaire au milieu d'eux.

WLC ²⁶ וְכָרַתִּ֤י לָהֶם֙ בְּרִ֣ית שָׁל֔וֹם בְּרִ֥ית עוֹלָ֖ם יִהְיֶ֣ה אוֹתָ֑ם וּנְתַתִּים֙ וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣י אוֹתָ֔ם וְנָתַתִּ֧י אֶת־ מִקְדָּשִׁ֛י בְּתוֹכָ֖ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ²⁷ My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

WLC ²⁷ וְהָיָ֤ה מִשְׁכָּנִי֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְהָיִ֥יתִי לָהֶ֖ם לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים וְהֵ֖מָּה יִֽהְיוּ־ לִ֥י לְעָֽם׃

KJV ²⁸ And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

S21 ²⁸ Les nations reconnaîtront que je suis l'Eternel, celui qui considère Israël comme saint, lorsque mon sanctuaire sera pour toujours au milieu d'eux.'»

WLC ²⁸ וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה מְקַדֵּ֖שׁ אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בִּהְי֧וֹת מִקְדָּשִׁ֛י בְּתוֹכָ֖ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃
