BCC ¹ La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes :

KJV ¹ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

WLC ¹ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

BCC ² Et toi, fils de l'homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh au pays d'Israël : la fin ! La fin vient sur les quatre coins de la terre !

KJV ² Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.

WLC ² וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־ אָדָ֗ם כֹּה־ אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֧י יְהוִ֛ה לְאַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל קֵ֑ץ בָּ֣א הַקֵּ֔ץ עַל־ כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BCC ³ Maintenant la fin vient sur toi ; je vais donner cours à ma colère contre toi ; je te jugerai d'après tes oeuvres ; je ferai retomber sur toi toutes tes abominations.

KJV ³ Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.

WLC ³ עַתָּה֙ הַקֵּ֣ץ עָלַ֔יִךְ וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י אַפִּי֙ בָּ֔ךְ וּשְׁפַטְתִּ֖יךְ כִּדְרָכָ֑יִךְ וְנָתַתִּ֣י עָלַ֔יִךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־ תּוֹעֲבֹתָֽיִךְ׃

BCC ⁴ Mon oeil ne t'épargnera pas, et je serai sans pitié ; car je ferai retomber sur toi tes oeuvres, et tes abominations seront au milieu de toi ; et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

KJV ⁴ And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

WLC ⁴ וְלֹא־ תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֛י עָלַ֖יִךְ וְלֹ֣א אֶחְמ֑וֹל כִּ֣י דְרָכַ֜יִךְ עָלַ֣יִךְ אֶתֵּ֗ן וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ בְּתוֹכֵ֣ךְ תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

BCC ⁵ Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : un malheur unique ! Un malheur ! Voici qu'il arrive !

KJV ⁵ Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.

WLC ⁵ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה רָעָ֛ה אַחַ֥ת רָעָ֖ה הִנֵּ֥ה בָאָֽה׃

BCC ⁶ Une fin vient ! La fin arrive ! Elle s'éveille contre toi ; voici qu'elle arrive !

KJV ⁶ An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.

WLC ⁶ קֵ֣ץ בָּ֔א בָּ֥א הַקֵּ֖ץ הֵקִ֣יץ אֵלָ֑יִךְ הִנֵּ֖ה בָּאָֽה׃

BCC ⁷ Ton sort est venu, habitant du pays ; le temps vient, le jour est proche ! Du tumulte !... et non le cri de joie sur les montagnes.

KJV ⁷ The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.

WLC ⁷ בָּ֧אָה הַצְּפִירָ֛ה אֵלֶ֖יךָ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב הָאָ֑רֶץ בָּ֣א הָעֵ֗ת קָר֛וֹב הַיּ֥וֹם מְהוּמָ֖ה וְלֹא־ הֵ֥ד הָרִֽים׃

BCC ⁸ Maintenant, je vais sans tarder répandre mon courroux sur toi ; j'assouvirai sur toi ma colère, je te jugerai selon tes voies, et je ferai retomber sur toi toutes tes abominations.

KJV ⁸ Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.

WLC ⁸ עַתָּ֣ה מִקָּר֗וֹב אֶשְׁפּ֤וֹךְ חֲמָתִי֙ עָלַ֔יִךְ וְכִלֵּיתִ֤י אַפִּי֙ בָּ֔ךְ וּשְׁפַטְתִּ֖יךְ כִּדְרָכָ֑יִךְ וְנָתַתִּ֣י עָלַ֔יִךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־ תּוֹעֲבוֹתָֽיִךְ׃

BCC ⁹ Mon oeil n'épargnera pas, et je serai sans pitié ; je ferai retomber sur toi tes oeuvres, tes abominations seront au milieu de, toi ; et vous saurez que c'est moi, Yahweh, qui frappe !

KJV ⁹ And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.

WLC ⁹ וְלֹא־ תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֖י וְלֹ֣א אֶחְמ֑וֹל כִּדְרָכַ֜יִךְ עָלַ֣יִךְ אֶתֵּ֗ן וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ בְּתוֹכֵ֣ךְ תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה מַכֶּֽה׃

BCC ¹⁰ Voici le jour ; voici qu'il vient ; ton sort est arrivé ; la verge fleurit, l'orgueil éclôt.

KJV ¹⁰ Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.

WLC ¹⁰ הִנֵּ֥ה הַיּ֖וֹם הִנֵּ֣ה בָאָ֑ה יָֽצְאָה֙ הַצְּפִרָ֔ה צָ֚ץ הַמַּטֶּ֔ה פָּרַ֖ח הַזָּדֽוֹן׃

BCC ¹¹ La violence s'élève, pour être la verge de l'impiété. Il ne restera rien d'eux, ni de leur multitude, ni de leur tumulte, et ils n'auront plus d'éclat.

KJV ¹¹ Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of their's: neither shall there be wailing for them.

WLC ¹¹ הֶחָמָ֥ס ׀ קָ֖ם לְמַטֵּה־ רֶ֑שַׁע לֹא־ מֵהֶ֞ם וְלֹ֧א מֵהֲמוֹנָ֛ם וְלֹ֥א מֶהֱמֵהֶ֖ם וְלֹא־ נֹ֥הַּ בָּהֶֽם׃

BCC ¹² Le temps vient, le jour approche ! Que l'acheteur ne se réjouisse pas, et que le vendeur ne s'afflige point ; car la colère va éclater sur toute leur multitude.

KJV ¹² The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

WLC ¹² בָּ֤א הָעֵת֙ הִגִּ֣יעַ הַיּ֔וֹם הַקּוֹנֶה֙ אַל־ יִשְׂמָ֔ח וְהַמּוֹכֵ֖ר אַל־ יִתְאַבָּ֑ל כִּ֥י חָר֖וֹן אֶל־ כָּל־ הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃

BCC ¹³ Le vendeur ne rentrera pas en possession de ce qu'il aura vendu, fût-il encore parmi les vivants ; car la vision contre toute leur multitude ne sera point révoquée, et nul par son péché n'assurera sa vie.

KJV ¹³ For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.

WLC ¹³ כִּ֣י הַמּוֹכֵ֗ר אֶל־ הַמִּמְכָּר֙ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֔וּב וְע֥וֹד בַּחַיִּ֖ים חַיָּתָ֑ם כִּֽי־ חָז֤וֹן אֶל־ כָּל־ הֲמוֹנָהּ֙ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֔וּב וְאִ֧ישׁ בַּעֲוֺנ֛וֹ חַיָּת֖וֹ לֹ֥א יִתְחַזָּֽקוּ׃

BCC ¹⁴ On sonne la trompette, et tout est prêt ; mais personne ne marche au combat, car ma colère est contre toute leur multitude.

KJV ¹⁴ They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

WLC ¹⁴ תָּקְע֤וּ בַתָּק֙וֹעַ֙ וְהָכִ֣ין הַכֹּ֔ל וְאֵ֥ין הֹלֵ֖ךְ לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה כִּ֥י חֲרוֹנִ֖י אֶל־ כָּל־ הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃

BCC ¹⁵ Au dehors, l'épée ; au dedans, la peste et la famine ; celui qui est aux champs mourra par l'épée, et celui qui est dans la ville, la famine et la peste le dévoreront.

KJV ¹⁵ The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

WLC ¹⁵ הַחֶ֣רֶב בַּח֔וּץ וְהַדֶּ֥בֶר וְהָרָעָ֖ב מִבָּ֑יִת אֲשֶׁ֤ר בַּשָּׂדֶה֙ בַּחֶ֣רֶב יָמ֔וּת וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּעִ֔יר רָעָ֥ב וָדֶ֖בֶר יֹאכֲלֶֽנּוּ׃

BCC ¹⁶ Si des fugitifs parmi eux s'enfuient, ils erreront sur les montagnes comme les colombes des vallées, tous gémissant, chacun pour son péché.

KJV ¹⁶ But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.

WLC ¹⁶ וּפָֽלְטוּ֙ פְּלִ֣יטֵיהֶ֔ם וְהָי֣וּ אֶל־ הֶהָרִ֗ים כְּיוֹנֵ֧י הַגֵּאָי֛וֹת כֻּלָּ֖ם הֹמ֑וֹת אִ֖ישׁ בַּעֲוֺנֽוֹ׃

BCC ¹⁷ Toutes les mains sont défaillantes, et tous les genoux se fondent en eau.

KJV ¹⁷ All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.

WLC ¹⁷ כָּל־ הַיָּדַ֖יִם תִּרְפֶּ֑ינָה וְכָל־ בִּרְכַּ֖יִם תֵּלַ֥כְנָה מָּֽיִם׃

BCC ¹⁸ Ils se revêtent de sacs, et la terreur les enveloppe ; la confusion est sur tous les visages, et toutes les têtes sont rasées.

KJV ¹⁸ They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

WLC ¹⁸ וְחָגְר֣וּ שַׂקִּ֔ים וְכִסְּתָ֥ה אוֹתָ֖ם פַּלָּצ֑וּת וְאֶ֤ל כָּל־ פָּנִים֙ בּוּשָׁ֔ה וּבְכָל־ רָאשֵׁיהֶ֖ם קָרְחָֽה׃

BCC ¹⁹ Ils jetteront leur argent dans les rues, et leur or sera pour eux de l'ordure ; leur argent et leur or ne pourront les délivrer ; au jour de la colère de Yahweh ; ils n'en rassasieront pas leur âme, et n'en rempliront pas leurs entrailles ; car c'est là ce qui les a fait tomber dans l'iniquité.

KJV ¹⁹ They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

WLC ¹⁹ כַּסְפָּ֞ם בַּחוּצ֣וֹת יַשְׁלִ֗יכוּ וּזְהָבָם֮ לְנִדָּ֣ה יִֽהְיֶה֒ כַּסְפָּ֨ם וּזְהָבָ֜ם לֹֽא־ יוּכַ֣ל לְהַצִּילָ֗ם בְּיוֹם֙ עֶבְרַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה נַפְשָׁם֙ לֹ֣א יְשַׂבֵּ֔עוּ וּמֵעֵיהֶ֖ם לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּ֑אוּ כִּֽי־ מִכְשׁ֥וֹל עֲוֺנָ֖ם הָיָֽה׃

BCC ²⁰ Des joyaux dont ils se paraient, ils faisaient leur orgueil ; ils en fabriquaient leurs abominations, leurs idoles. C'est pourquoi je changerai tout cela en ordure,

KJV ²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.

WLC ²⁰ וּצְבִ֤י עֶדְיוֹ֙ לְגָא֣וֹן שָׂמָ֔הוּ וְצַלְמֵ֧י תוֹעֲבֹתָ֛ם שִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֖ם עָ֣שׂוּ ב֑וֹ עַל־ כֵּ֛ן נְתַתִּ֥יו לָהֶ֖ם לְנִדָּֽה׃

BCC ²¹ et je le livrerai en pillage aux mains des étrangers, en proie aux impies de la terre, ‒ et ils le souilleront.

KJV ²¹ And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

WLC ²¹ וּנְתַתִּ֤יו בְּיַֽד־ הַזָּרִים֙ לָבַ֔ז וּלְרִשְׁעֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ לְשָׁלָ֑ל

BCC ²² Je détournerai d'eux mon visage, et on souillera mon trésor ; des hommes de violence y entreront et le souilleront.

KJV ²² My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.

WLC ²² וַהֲסִבּוֹתִ֤י פָנַי֙ מֵהֶ֔ם וְחִלְּל֖וּ אֶת־ צְפוּנִ֑י וּבָאוּ־ בָ֥הּ פָּרִיצִ֖ים וְחִלְּלֽוּהָ׃

BCC ²³ Prépare les chaînes ; car le pays est rempli d'attentats, et la ville de violences.

KJV ²³ Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.

WLC ²³ עֲשֵׂ֖ה הָֽרַתּ֑וֹק כִּ֣י הָאָ֗רֶץ מָֽלְאָה֙ מִשְׁפַּ֣ט דָּמִ֔ים וְהָעִ֖יר מָלְאָ֥ה חָמָֽס׃

BCC ²⁴ Et je ferai venir les plus méchants d'entre les peuples, et ils s'empareront de leurs maisons, et ils mettront fin à l'orgueil des puissants ; et leurs lieux saints seront profanés.

KJV ²⁴ Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.

WLC ²⁴ וְהֵֽבֵאתִי֙ רָעֵ֣י גוֹיִ֔ם וְיָרְשׁ֖וּ אֶת־ בָּֽתֵּיהֶ֑ם וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ גְּא֣וֹן עַזִּ֔ים וְנִחֲל֖וּ מְקַֽדְשֵׁיהֶֽם׃

BCC ²⁵ La ruine vient ; ils chercheront la paix, et il n'y en aura point.

KJV ²⁵ Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

WLC ²⁵ קְפָ֖דָה־ בָ֑א וּבִקְשׁ֥וּ שָׁל֖וֹם וָאָֽיִן׃

BCC ²⁶ Il arrivera malheur sur malheur, et nouvelle sur nouvelle ; et ils chercheront des visions auprès des prophètes, et la loi fera défaut au prêtre, et le conseil aux anciens.

KJV ²⁶ Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.

WLC ²⁶ הֹוָ֤ה עַל־ הֹוָה֙ תָּב֔וֹא וּשְׁמֻעָ֥ה אֶל־ שְׁמוּעָ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה וּבִקְשׁ֤וּ חָזוֹן֙ מִנָּבִ֔יא וְתוֹרָה֙ תֹּאבַ֣ד מִכֹּהֵ֔ן וְעֵצָ֖ה מִזְּקֵנִֽים׃

BCC ²⁷ Le roi sera dans le deuil, le prince se vêtira de tristesse, et les mains du peuple du pays trembleront. Je les traiterai d'après leurs oeuvres, je les jugerai selon leurs mérites ; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh.

KJV ²⁷ The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

WLC ²⁷ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יִתְאַבָּ֗ל וְנָשִׂיא֙ יִלְבַּ֣שׁ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וִידֵ֥י עַם־ הָאָ֖רֶץ תִּבָּהַ֑לְנָה מִדַּרְכָּ֞ם אֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה אוֹתָם֙ וּבְמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֣ם אֶשְׁפְּטֵ֔ם וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
